I agree , let it me naturally diverse it doesn’t like good being forced . Also everyone will have different opinions on things . That being said attacking people because they have a voice on something doesn’t help at all .
Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. This is all a new BioWare team, that doesn’t care about franchise or fans. There is no one left from the old team, for which ME universe was important. I think ME (games) died when the last person who worked on the original trilogy left company.
Ashley Williams salutes to you. (Gunnery Chief. Will drill you between eyes at 300y without even trying) Miranda Lawson approves this action. (brainy strong woman) Liara T'Soni (Doctor, Shadowbroker) will join eternity for this. (Another brainy woman of a mono-gendered species, less strong, but more brain) ;-) Tali'Zora vas Normandy will go another pilgrimage just to prove you're right. (every strong woman starts as a young woman) And that's only four of Shepard's crew (who also could be a woman). .... Just saying. Mass Effect had its fair share of strong women. And it felt right.
@@roma540 Yep. But if you're a member of Shepard's crew and a woman, you're seriously kicking 4ss for the galaxy. Nah, seriously. We had good and strong female characters in Mass Effect, Star Trek etc for decades. Within less than ONE decade all of that got forgotten and destroyed. This needs to stop.
@@michaelgiertz-rath7994 If you're a member of Shepard's crew you're seriously kicking 4ss for the galaxy - no matter, whether you man, woman, Agender/non-gender species or They/Them-Badass-Robot-With-Biblical-Reference-As-Your-Name
There are only female Asari. They have been only female since the first game and will be only female until the inevitable heat death of the universe. There are gay and/or bi characters in the Mass Effect Trilogy, but no trans characters, unless you count the ones the Reapers turn into husks.
Asari culture even uses terms "Maiden", "Matron" and "Matriarch", depending on their age, and other feminine words, like "Huntress". Even calling their children "Daughters". No weird (forced) human pronoun bull- there.
I find it downright hillarious how they chose the ONLY alien in the whole series whose entire race is gender-coded. Sometimes the jokes write themselves...
@Reaper0123 Exactly. A completely monogendered female species. Even various terminologies used reflect that. The Asari lorewise didn't even have a concept of males or fathers before they met bigendered species (Salarians). The next generation is composed of the "mother's" DNA, with the "father's" DNA used only as a randomiser in order to not have straight-up clones of the birthing parent.
Right about the Asari, wrong about the trans characters. I mean it's an earth setting, with humans so of course there are going to be trans people in that universe, but it's also canon. There are a couple of trans NPC's across the games. One of them got a lot of flack in Andromeda for being incredibly insensitively written so they toned it down and you have to ask that character the right questions to trigger the gender related dialogue. It's hard to find, but the character and the conversation are still there.
Oh, trust me. That's gonna change. It won't be long before these gender ideologists decide even inanimate objects will have pronouns. I mean, they've already done this with animals.
Bioware was already very inclusive. they didnt need to go that extra step. On Mass Effect alone we have Asari who are all female but can take the role of mother or father, We have Hanar - genderless tentacle monster We have the Geth who are genderless artificial life form We have the Reapers and Leviathan who i can only assume have no gender too And theres always atleast 1 gay or bi character in each of their games Ofcourse when that "inclusivity" becomes the main focus - the game is dead
Heck, Bioware was the ones to put out one of the first games with a same sex relationship in it: Kotor. Except it wasn't forced. Juhani wasn't some raging femi-yahtzee that demanded respect because of her womanhood and sexual preference, she was a Jedi struggling with her brush with the dark side, looking to you for guidance. Bioware used to handle these things quite well and naturally, before the likes of Andromeda and Inquisition.
@@TechLeafRanger Yeah, I did feel like the FemRevan/Juhani relationship was smooth as butter, organic, and no one on the Ebon Hawk complained one bit. It just felt chill and natural, I loved it myself. Another recent game that did it well was Outer Worlds w/ the Parvati Holcomb character. I know my gamer friends and I wanted to take care of her, and heck yeah, set her up w/ someone just as cool, that someone was Junlei Tennyson. That story was really sweet.
@@fordid42 Indeed. It's just sad though now to see the direction that a company like Bioware has gone, where it used to have great story and character development with really organic characters .
"Inclusivity" isn't their issue; that's just what they're using for camouflage. Since we're on a Mass Effect video: what they're doing is offering us salvation through destruction. Salvation from structure and boundaries through the destruction of LORE. They are always saying "just one more pushed boundary" or "just one more broken barrier". We need to stop falling for it.
if they keep up with the bad woke up games, then the majority of gamers will be identified as such. Vote with your wallet is the only language they will understand.
@@acosilicon absolutely. This is democracy in it's purest form. Every time we open our wallets, we cast a vote for the type of world we wish to live in.
This is the reason why you don't attack your fans when they criticize you. It's official that there's no more hope for another awesome Mass Effect game anymore.
"I am a strong, independent, two souls, trans racial, Gender Fluid, handi capped, lesbian space witch, and I complain to Managers here on the Citadel."
I know right and did he just assume my gender? Shouldn't these annoying people use a gender neutral term? As a tomboy who grew up as a Bioware fan, I hope they didn't label Jack as something other than a female.
In the case of Asari there is even a in universe joke where the Asari accept being called female by humans just because they look female to humans. But if you listen to a conversation in ME3, I think in the club there is a Salarian, Human, and Turian arguing about what makes Asari attractive yet none of their descriptions line up. As if the way they are perceived is unique to each species. But as to the pronoun crap, get rid of it. Can't stand it. You don't even have to do that in ME because you can make your Shepard male OR female, you can play as either along with customizing the looks. It's not quite as out there as Cyberpunk is. Even in ME though, they rarely call Shepard by anything other than 'Shepard" because its up to the player to choose a name and appearance.
It was in the bar in ME2 on Illium each of the species makes a debate that the Asari look like their respective races. The iceberg theory is that the Asari use mental biotic powers to trick the other races into seeing them close to their race to increase their Asari numbers through sexual attraction to their species 😊
I think that conversation gets misinterpreted more than any other. They aren't saying they look different just that there are different things that jump out. The Turian says he like their tentacles because that's a feature for Turians. The Salarian says it's the scaly skin. Between the statues, the footprints they leave, and the fact in ME1 Liara wears Human armor we very much see what they actually look like. Also keep in mind every club has Human dancers as well, showing that humans are an attractive species too.
The thing that irritates me that most about these people is the smug, arrogant manner in which they gaslight everyone. As though they were some kind of authority and they need not give us the very time of day. I do so love watching them eat it and having their sheltered, false "morality" shattered over and over and over again.
The narcicists have gathered at the top. Those making the choices in gaming industry is those who scream the loudest, pushed their way ahead of others to reach the top. Muting those who sits back with tons of ideas. Just a few companies left, that really cares for the games they make.
DEI=DOA Shoving pronouns in fiction in such a shallow forced way gives a narcissistic vibe to things in my opinion "i can't enjoy this fictional setting if i don't feel like ME at ALL times!! i'm so "inclusive" guys!"
The thing with people ret-conning lore from old game just tells me they have no creative bone in their bodies, rather than take old characters with established lore, why not make a new character and prove you are a creator rather than making changes and crying about it online when no one agrees with you.
Again?! Look, until the games industry get rid of these people gaming will continue to crash and burn.. it's not a threat. It's just the truth. Companies who make games have been successful by creating games game players want to play. If now they instead want to make games only non game players want to play it will be the end of their business. No one will be happy and they will be out of business.
It has already been proven with the success of the recent titles like Space Marine 2, Stellar Blade and Black Myth Wukong. Woke games are terrible and the non-woke ones that focus on good gameplay and plot have high sales volume.
Reason they keep doing this is 2 things. One is financial blackmail by companies like blackrock. Larry fink makes sure that if you ain’t woke then you can’t do business at all plus the government makes sure you cant’t sell anything in certain states. The other reason is diversity hires. In order to increase their ESG score they hire diversity officers that basically replace the old devs with activists and then once they have enough power they vote out the ceo. The company is dead and will never change. Even if it goes bankrupt it’s just a ghost wearing the husk of BioWare. Make your own company and make sure not to take blackrocks money
It's funny because the original word "daemon" actually meant benign spirits of nature. This would eventually be "demonized" into the Western connotation we know today. The same with the witch which was known in the old world as a wise woman who practiced the arts of healing. Even the so-called saints in Catholicism were derived from old pre-Christian deities which were used to wean in Pagan converts into Christendom. And the same goes for some of these holidays like Christmas, Easter or Halloween; all pagan derived, but _religiously_ celebrated among the masses.
@@jaqenhghar2970 I wouldn't call daemons "benign" so much as "neutral". Creatures like the Fae will help you and make sure you are never seen again. They aren't benign, else you wouldn't need great caution when dealing with daemons.
I think the original Mass Effect trilogy did diversity right. It wasn't in-your-face or forced. All characters were people, they were interesting and NOT defined by race or gender or made their whole personality out of one trait. Which is crazy if you consider that: A) It was a video-game, so uni-dimensional characters like "the assassin" were pretty common. And B) Many of them were aliens, which also many times are portrayed as being "all the same". I think most gamers don't have a problem with diversity, but rather with political agendas being forced into entertaiment all the time.
First surgery scars, and now they/them ? 🤣🤣. If Bioware can't even see how stupid this is, then there's truly no hope for them, and the fact that they can't even be professional with their tweets shows how unqualified these people are to work in the gaming industry
This is why I have ZERO hope for the next Mass Effect, everyone making it now are woke weirdos. Can't wait for Exodus, I really hope it's based and the spiritual successor to ME. And how dare they assume Sheps pronouns! 😂😂😂😂😂
WAAAHH! DON'T HURT MY TALI - SHE'S INNOCENT.... AND CUTE!!! And Garrus is innocent too, I suppose... I only really need the two that remained loyal to me over the entire franchise...
I got my wife into mass effect and she loved it. I had to have the talk with her yesterday warning her that the series may have ended at 3 and she put her head down like someone had just passed away. Neither one of will support d.e.i games or writing so I guess we are out as fans. Star Wars ended at episode 3 (the ones with Hayden christiansen), Dragon age ended with the first game apparently since solas's story won't be finished dai was pointless, and mass effect ended at 3. No body a&b, no pronouns, no blackwashing, no lgbt propganda.
I noticed british tv blackwashed doctor who now too.....😂😂😂😂 wtf is going on. Im just gunna get rid of my tv and xbox and go back to pre-tech life at this point
You know you could play Shepherd as gay, right? As in, you could hook up with the male characters while playing as man, or hook up with the female characters while playing as a woman? Yeah. The original Mass Effect series is a gay friendly game. Always has been. Always will be. Right from the start.
Here's hoping your wife is very traditional because if not she will probably? slip into liking what the leftist communist might put out after all I've seen this experience with my own sister and other females with star wars and stuff I've known in life which were not very traditional and we're very sucked into the mind virus since females for the most part biologically truly go with the trend of society with out thinking even if it's crap and bad I just hope your wife is smart enough not to follow what happens after with the mind virus Trend iam very RP about this in life Please people don't be mad at me for bringing up the obvious of one of reality society truths.
I don't understand how these people even got into their positions if they behave like that. Heck, I know I'm not a game studio boss but I would throw people like that out. They only harm the product and the company.
You dare to think about customer relations and the concept of making a profit. I doubt you could rise about the rank of janitor in a game company with such a pragmatic outlook. Seriously I have to wonder how many executives are screaming behind the scenes watching their company go to hell in a hand basket because of a few select people are fine with losing money.
What do you know, triggering the hedonistic narcissistic historical revisionists is as easy as pointing out their slipperyslope moving goalposts. Thing is it's beyond too late to gatekeep them, that ship sailed several years ago; now the only way to make media great again is to blacklist them from it, they're too narrow minded to be in a creative role and too obsessive to lead it.
Just don't buy their crappy fan fiction. The problem with IPs is the company owns it so after a while the original creators leave and companies had them off to some no talent hacks who think pushing a political agenda is more important than a good story. Which results in them rightfully getting torn apart with criticism. We the people have the power, we just don't buy their junk and they go out of business which is why much of entertainment industry is losing money. Part of why these ideologue think their authoritarian tactics will work is because of the misrepresentation of history taught in schools. One of the well known and taught stories of the Civil Rights movement was Rosa Parks and the Bus Boycott. They mention how the public pressure caused them to change the laws and highlight that as the success to emphasize how the government needs to step in to achieve change. But in reality the Boycott was so effect the bus company revoked the policy on it's own because it was losing so much money. The government didn't get around to passing the law until months later at which point it was little more than a token effort so politicians could claim they did something.
Companies that keep hiring untalented people and failed to keep talented people on their payroll will eventually go out of business (ESPECIALLY in a creative field like video game making). When it comes to entertainment, quality goods will always be in short supply.
@@acosilicon Yep. It's what caused the supposed Video Game industry crash of the 1980s with Atari. Atari was biggest publisher and main console system on the block at the time but treated their employees like cogs in the machine. Which caused many of them to leave and form the company Activision. Atari kept it's bad business decisions resulting in it crashing and burning. Since they were the main console system on block it left a void in console market which created the sense that the industry crashed. However Nintendo stepped in rather quickly and games on the computer were still a thing. The industry was doing fine, it was just a bloated mismanaged near monopoly company that crashed. Growing up I didn't even notice the blip in gaming at that time and only heard about the supposed crash of the industry when learning about "history of gaming industry" as an adult. Now a days there are a lot more companies in the market and many of them are mismanaged as well as having more money than Atari did so they can limp along for a lot longer than Atari did. We just need to help put these companies out of our misery faster by not buying their junk. The faster they lose money on failed projects the faster they will follow Atari into the trash bin of failed companies. And most importantly the faster those IP can get sold off to hopefully someone that will know how to handle them properly.
I don't even understand why these activists would bully gamers instead of corporations who have gone full corporate greed in times of insane inflation? Use that energy to bring forth meaningful change, don't touch culture and a hobby which is an escapism for the middle class and working man.
All of their anti-corporate posturing was always a lie, and a means to an end. They want power, and Gramsci laid out the groundwork for seizing that power by destroying tradition, education, and entertainment. A corporate managerial state was always the end goal.
That's easy, it's because they're part of these corporations, who do you think pushes this woke crap? The woke agenda is and always been about control, if you can destroy what a person likes, believes, values and holds dear then they are eventually left empty and therefore easy to manipulate and control
@@Xbalanque84 If true this makes them nothing but evil. They are actively working to depress working people in a world of chaos and stress, by ruining a fun hobby. To de-moralize them. Why? What's the point? These people should de-moralize those who prioritize corporate greed. These woke people are backwards.
It’s sad to see that game lores etc are being rewritten to suit the “MoDeRn AuDiEnCe” as gamers (board and game / console) are excited and captivated by these origins etc which makes the overall experience enjoyable and keeps the players coming back for their sequels etc. Ruining a lore / canon etc destroys fan bases and ultimately results in poor sales and eventual studio closures or massive reduction of quality products going forward.
To me it's funny that in his picture he is wearing a style shirt only worn by school children when I was in elementary school. I am 60. The "Peanuts" aka "Charlie Brown" comic strip featured a character, "Linus Van Pelt" that wore such a shirt. It was a way of dressing up what was essentially a T-Shirt with horizontal stripes. It was easy pull on and off, wash and wear. People who wore such shirts in high school were ridiculed for looking "dorky".
I don't think the brainiacs at Bioware know what damage they have done with that. After how The Veilguard went all in on similiar controversies, this right here will make people very worried about Mass Effect 5 before we have even seen anything about this game. Now people are just waiting for them showing some Mass Effect 5 content, only to actively search for this nonsense. By the way: Why does this guy look like Sideshow Bob?
@@Xbalanque84 Then EA should probably fire every single one of them, because they are there to make money, not to lose money with their activism, while destroying one big ip after another.
@@Susanoo0097 I know, but as we have seen with other franchises Bioware will most likely have a say in these things. Having a licence to use an ip does not mean that you can do whatever you want with it.

I'd sooner have my teeth extracted through my anus than I would buy a Bioware game these days because I know it's going to be a broken mess of wokeness.
I blame the older generation of developers, when they left they created a power vacuum that was filled with people who should have never been there, maybe next time around they will put some effort into training so that complete a holes don’t replace them.
And some of these older devs weren't any better than the nutty millennial ones, Kojima has been pushing feminism through his MGS games since the 90s for petes sake.
@@hartianx1698 Kojima doesn't have any talent in writing "sexy badasses" and whatever success he had in the past was a fluke that occurred with the help of others (co writers and designers). Just look at how he wrote Meryl in the fourth game, he could've taken an older version of her in any direction he wanted, but despite all the cards on the table he just felt so compelled to make her into an obnoxious insufferable bully who bitches about men and has a enormous chip on her shoulder, and who wanted to murder her dad over an affair he had in his youth (Kojima clearly thought that the "new Meryl" was cooler, more refined and more tough than her old self, but he actually made her even less mature and level headed their her initial depiction as a teenage basic training graduate), If MGS4 came out with the same 2008 script today I have no doubt that fans would get the impression that "Sweet Baby" had a huge influence on the game (even though it's solely the fault of Kojima being a self hating cuck), because it was written no differently than how a modern western activist would've done it.
@@hartianx1698 That was all a fluke that only occurred with the help of more talented people (co writers and artists). The way that Kojima wrote Meryl in MGS4 (a deranged feminist who was less mature and level headed than her younger original self) shows that he lacks real talent in creating "sexy badasses" (it was also a boring game in general, one of the worst I've ever played story wise).
Quick advice for your ME3 playthrough. Try to put aside the negative comments about it. Yes, the ending was probably the worst in gaming history. That being said, the gameplay itself really is the best in the series.
ME3 took every opportunity to take the easy or cheap way out. And fails to tell a good and satisfying story. Even at the very end after having begged and negotiated the entire universe to help you, Admiral Hackett gives the speech and you the ground soldier leads the fight?! You can really tell they should have just let Drew continue to write, but they dropped him and the composer for the third game and it shows
Thanks for the advice. The game is good so far, but it disappointed me in a few areas already, and then everyone keeps scaring me by saying that the ending sucks. It's so frustrating that so many great franchises decide to end in the worst possible way.
you missed talking about all the deleted reviews on the game, if you look through the reviews on bgg many are greyed out (removed) so the negative reviews would have been much much higher if not for bgg going in removing reviews yet non of the 10 score reviews have not been touched. Also people has allegedly been banned from bgg after leaving a negative review (unsure how true this one is). I personally have left a negative review for the reason that you should not call your consumers/fans names. I have not been banned yet nor has my review been removed but I have also had my account for a long time.
@@EllanaWolf A forth game thats hated universally. Every gamer knows the only reason they bring mass effect back after that ending is to milk the franchise. And just like Star wars or lftr people aren't gonna care about it.
@EllanaWolf MEA may be the 4th game but it is not ME4 and before you whine and cry that it is just look at any game franchise in all of gaming history, e.g. Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 3 ODST, Halo 4, Halo 5 Halo Infinite, notice how there's still Halo 4 even tho it's not the actual 4th game, GTA 1, GTA 2, GTA 3, GTA VC, GTA SA, GTA 4, GTA 5.
The prolem is that Mass Effect 3 does include Asari that identify by male designators. Matriarch Aethyta M'Soni, Liara's self identified father, despite typically using female pronouns, will berate Shep if they suggest that under human norms Aethyta, would be Liara's other mother, to which Aethyta calls Shepard an "anthropocentric bag of dicks". Therefore, while the Asari typically go by female pronouns, they also identify with male stylings too, and therefore a non binary option for such cases makes perfect sense. If it wasn't for the fact that all asari typically use female pronouns then I'd say that a woke approach would have been to remove the she pronoun, because as Liara said back in ME, male and female are not acurate. A they pronoun would be accurate, yet asari use female pronouns most of the time, so including she for the bulk of the time, and they for those times when self identifying as fathers makes perfect sense as a cultural idea. So this is a complaint from those who have never bothered to actually pay attention to the story and character elements or, perhaps more likely, the hate brigade that have no interest in Mass Effect and saw something that they thought was woke and riled up the rest of the hate brigade, to which everyone else is now ticked off because someone called them out, thinking they were attacking the fan base. If you don't understand that Asari use both female and gender neutral concepts in the species then you probably aren't a fan. And if you are a fan, you should realise that the creator isn't addressing fans with their comments, but rather the bigoted Alpha holes that jump at these sort of things. I remember when the BattleTech game came out on PC (2018) and people bitched and moaned because on the character creation screen it lists "they/them" as one of the three pronouns that you could use for your character, claiming it was woke BS, and forcing an agenda. Yet in the 1838.9 hours that I have played that game, at the time of writing, having visited every world, interacted with every major character, and countless randomly generated characters, I can not recall a single instance of the game using they/them pronouns. That said, I have never chosen that option for any of my own characters, and never recruited backer characters, so it is possible they/them does exist in the game. When the Battletech fan base fought back against the bigots, the hate brigade went looking for something else to rage against. When MechWarrior: Clans came out recently, there were more, "this is woke BS being shoved down our throats" cries, because it had among other things being moaned at, a bad ass black woman, kicking ass. The character they were pushing front and centre to make the "woke" claims, had been a bad ass black woman when the character was first revealed, in the 1990s. In fact BattleTech has always been inclusive of concepts like race, gender etc, etc, etc since its earliest days. Yet the actual fans of the BattleTech franchise actually pointed out all the falacies of these arguments, by citing the actual lore of BattleTech, and again the cries died down. This is literally the same argument 6 years later but with ME rather than BT. Male and female is not accurate, so a gender neutral pronoun makes sense. (ME, ME3) Asari refer to themselves typically in the femine forms, so female pronouns makes sense. (ME, ME2, ME3, MEA) Asari also refer to themselves by male identifiers, such as father, even when refering to themselves as female, so again a gender neutral option fits. (ME3) Trying to say you don't want pronouns in the game is stupid, because pronouns have been a part of the game since its inception, male, female, non binary have all turned up in ME since its first game, so the fact that someone stuck them on a card caused people to complain. Seriously? It's BattleTech all over again? "No. You can't have non binary pronouns in our franchise. Waagh." So while I agree with the babies part, I disagree with the man part as without finding everyone of the commentors and finding out if they are male, female or non binary if they are manbabies. Apologies in advance if, by dumbing down my next part, causes offence. None is intended. You can't use he/she or she/he, or any other variation there of, due to the bigotry attached to such terms, and how they are used against one of the rarest examples of humans, Intersex, those born with biologies that don't align with typical male or female characteristics. About 1.7% of the planetary population, which is about the same number of people born with red hair. These intersex individuals are by definition non binary, and as such require non binary pronouns, like they/them. Intersex individuals in many cultures, even in the 21st century, and even in supposedly open and progressive societies, are targeted by hate groups. Again apologies if, how I dumbed things down, caused offence. None was intended. This whole argument is based in bigotry, and bigotry, whatever form it takes is wrong and should be called out when seen. Which is what the creators of the game did. This pissed people off because they thought the creator was attacking fans, rather than bigots. And yes, I am aware that bigots can be part of any fanbase, but the non bigoted part of the fan base should be calling out bigotry when it occurs. Not sitting in silence. Not casually accepting it. And certainly not jumping on the bigotry bandwagon. So, with all that said, which are you? An ME fan, or not?
This is why I'm glad I have a dope library of games. I just skip ones like these, pretend they don't exist, and play one of the many untouched games in my steam backlog.
Pls Mass Effect was woke before woke was even a thing. Been LGBT in game since the original was released. But let’s cry about now because everyone else is.😂😂😂😂😂😂 what a bunch of clowns.
I don’t care about pronouns but I do care that each side is being malicious to one another. If I was the director, I would not attack anyone and I would just say these are for our players who believe themselves to be a gender they were not born with since this is a RPG and we want all players to fit in
@ - having a belief in something should never turn to being aggressive. If I would lose customers then fine, but I wouldn’t belittle them for not believing in things I believe in.
Huh, 'man babies', you know that's the exact phrase that Bioware used back in 2012 when the fanbase rejected ME 3's ending. Good to see the companies not changed one bit in the last 12 years, I look foward to seeing the next release crash and burn (like ever other game they've released aince ME3) and the studios final shuttering.
Not surprised stupid posts were deleted. All big companies have social networks policy and I'm pretty sure such posts broke the rules. And yes Eric Lang is an idiot.
I thought it was funny that you mentioned that you’re watching Dexter in the video because when I played through the Mass Effect series the first time, I was also watching through Dexter 😂
It’s hilarious because Mass Effect was already inclusive af but they like to ruin it by retconning modern wokeness into it. Good job BioWare 👍 way to make me not even want to check out ME4 when it arrives.
Simple solution is not to buy the product. Companies will either wise up or go out of business. Vote with your wallet and never pre-order, wait for reviews.
I was wondering why a Mass Effect video is 3 days old. I was wondering as I finished ME2 and am playing ME3.... like the 20th time. Im laughing so hard on that to be honest, the Game designer showed that he is a tourist in ME and dosent know what he is doing.
I actually have more of a problem with that developer assuming male-body Shepard's pronouns. The whole point of referring to Shepard by their surname regardless of body was literally to let the player put their own values on the other details. The NPCs, fine, but don't remove an iconic player immersion point.
I want these companies to stop forcing these gender idiologies into their games. And breaking the lore for that reason is a no-go. I don't think it's going to get better any time soon though, and I have an explanation as to why: Hear me out, my theory is that some influential people with connections to investment companies like Blackrock are using these investment companies as tools to fulfil their agenda. You see, investment companies have a lot of power as they hold and control a lot of money. Here's a quote from an article which itself quotes a CEO of Blackrock: “You have to force behaviors, and at BlackRock we are forcing behaviors,” Fink said. “54% of the incoming class [at BlackRock] are women. We added four more points in terms of diverse employment this year.”“What we’re doing internally is if you don’t achieve these levels of impact, your compensation could be impacted,” he said. “If you don’t force behaviors, whether its gender or race, or just any way you want to say the composition of your team, you’re going to be impacted,” he added. The other panelist, former CEO of American Express Kenneth Chenault, agreed with Fink, saying “we’re doing the same thing.” So I think these investment companies are forcing change through the use of their capital. Forcing non "woke" companies to make losses and/or not get support if they are not listened to. Until that changes, it's unlikely we'll see much change/resistance to this in the industries. Do you think there is some truth in what I am saying? What do you think?
in ME3, I think it was, there was a conversation in a bar with a Turion and a Human. And going from the convo, Asari look like the species that sees them. So we do not really know what Asari look like in there original form.
Sad. I bought all three games and most of the DLC, then I bought the Legendary edition. I think I'll wait on this. I was worried long ago that they'd get some new sshmukk to come in and bring his DEI flowchart with him. No game can escape it. Until these parasitic activists are purged, I don't forsee me spending much on new video games. ME3 was going in the wrong direction when they shoehorned in the shuttle pilot to give The Ghey option for Shepherd. ME4 will be LOU 2.
usually i dont care about the identity pronouns in everyday life, but it annoys the ever living shit out of me when people apply them arbitrarily to alien races and fantasy races with no respect for the lore. like if i got a job writing for star trek and i wrote that all klingons are gay because its usually a ship full of dudes, fans would lose their shit and rightly so.
This is a multi-factor problem that hurts us as fans: - It is a trendy (and financial) large corporate consideration to inject DEI into corporate structure and presentation, sometimes to the exclusion of all else. - We begin to think badly made games are bad because of DEI rather than it being a symptom. - Developers are “hurt” because this virtuous tactic did not pay off so it must be these vocal “bad” people to blame. - There is this sense of some of these new folk in companies actually hating (or at least disrespect / ignorant of) the IP that came before and they try to subvert/replace/destroy it disciplining the fans and thinking they can force a narrative of their own. - As a consumer, I am not in the habit of indulging suppliers lecturing me on my spending or opinions: I will not spend my money and will publicize my dissatisfaction. My opinion factually means more than theirs and decides if they remain employed. - I think most folk are tired of “the tail wagging the dog”. They can bark at me and I will walk away. I hope they figure out how to play nice soon or others get my money.

@Reaper0123
Exactly.
Thats why they probably went « why shouldn’t there be the tq+ part of our rainbow crew in that game ? Mass effect said trans right 😡😭 » 😂
Right about the Asari, wrong about the trans characters.
Literally in the lore Asari call themselves female.
The only species that doesn’t use traditional gender language is the Hanar. They refer to themselves as “this one”.
And I refer to the Mass Effect woke board game as "this crap"
They could have added Blasto as a character. . .
Oh, trust me. That's gonna change. It won't be long before these gender ideologists decide even inanimate objects will have pronouns. I mean, they've already done this with animals.
And also all the hanar we see are straight males
They are just full of testosterone
I appreciate the ones for the alien races but any of the human ones makes no sense. I don't remember any trans characters in mass effect.

Bioware was already very inclusive. they didnt need to go that extra step.
On Mass Effect alone we have Asari who are all female but can take the role of mother or father,
We have Hanar - genderless tentacle monster
We have the Geth who are genderless artificial life form
We have the Reapers and Leviathan who i can only assume have no gender too
And theres always atleast 1 gay or bi character in each of their games
Ofcourse when that "inclusivity" becomes the main focus - the game is dead

Reason they keep doing this is 2 things. One is financial blackmail by companies like blackrock. In the Bible, demons refer to themselves as they/them/we/us.
Mark 5:9: My name is legion, he replied, for we are many.
@xisigma "does this unit have a soul?"

I love the entire series probably the best of all time with the Wither trilogy second, though ME beats the early Witcher games hands down.
Yes, but it's not an action game. It's a story driven action rpg. Gameplay is of much lesser importance.
@@HiddenStr3ngth Lesser importance, sure. But still "Not nuthin' "
I don't need a mass effect 4. Mass effect trilogy was awesome and it ended the story perfectly. There is no reason for there to be a 4th game.
There’s already been a forth game. Your dislike of MEA doesn’t change that.
@@EllanaWolf A forth game thats hated universally. Every gamer knows the only reason they bring mass effect back after that ending is to milk the franchise. And just like Star wars or lftr people aren't gonna care about it.
It DID NOT end the story perfectly!🤬Red, Green, Blue? F*#$ you!!
There is no ME4, no commander Shepherd, not like KoTor or ME123
@EllanaWolf MEA may be the 4th game but it is not ME4 and before you whine and cry that it is just look at any game franchise in all of gaming history, e.g.
(ME, ME3)
Asari refer to themselves typically in the femine forms, so female pronouns makes sense. (ME, ME2, ME3, MEA)
Asari also refer to themselves by male identifiers, such as father, even when refering to themselves as female, so again a gender neutral option fits. (ME3)
Trying to say you don't want pronouns in the game is stupid, because pronouns have been a part of the game since its inception, male, female, non binary have all turned up in ME since its first game, so the fact that someone stuck them on a card caused people to complain.
I bet you won't cry about it
I bet you will
He already is
I mean people of this ideology do certainly act like Husks.
"Wife's boyfriend" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yall i play video games to explore 1000 different universes. Not to explore my universe in 1000 different ways
I don't even get how a Mass Effect board game can even work.
It's just about some freak pushing its agenda
i say fook the woke culture, and fook the cancel culture
I hate you. Buy my product. I hate you.
Hell of a marketing plan.
Don't forget what they did to the Reapers in ME3, giving them a Origin and making them weaker.
Bro can not be calling us man babies when he looks like he just put his hair through an air fryer
I've also already sunk 2500 hours into Masseffect. I love this game.
The 3rd mass effect kinda killed off the previous games. Your decisions don't matter... gamers were pretty pissed
Had its problems, still way better than what's coming out now. Way better.
Facts I didn't mind the ending I kinda liked sacrificing myself but the fact that all of our choices ment nothing was a slap in the face
Just because something already has a problem doesn't give anyone an excuse to make it worse.
@@johnnyjohn-johnson7738how is it a problem? yall are way too sensitive over literally nothing.
SOOO thankful for the mod makers against the alphabet army crap! Thank you! If a nod has been banned by Nexus it's almost guaranteed that we want it.
I don’t care about pronouns but I do care that each side is being malicious to one another. If I was the director, I would not attack anyone and I would just say these are for our players who believe themselves to be a gender they were not born with since this is a RPG and we want all players to fit in
In which you just loose customers still but in a kind manner
@ - having a belief in something should never turn to being aggressive. If I would lose customers then fine, but I wouldn’t belittle them for not believing in things I believe in.
Crossed off my list. I get to be mad about this.
Baldur's Gate 3
Just going to leave that here for the sad boys who cry about "woke" games failing.. 😂
Seems to be a fateful connection then
@@nyrion_ indeed 😁
@@nyrion_ Warning! Dexter sucks in the last couple of seasons (but is pretty good until then).
Bioware needs to spin round and start running for their lives in the other direction...the job market ain't kind these days.

imagine if you re in the middle of battle and you ask reinforcement and someone said Here They Come, the reinforcement, but only 1 showed up.
I actually have more of a problem with that developer assuming male-body Shepard's pronouns. The whole point of referring to Shepard by their surname regardless of body was literally to let the player put their own values on the other details. The NPCs, fine, but don't remove an iconic player immersion point.
Thats definitely a great thumbnail. Certainly got my attention 😊
I want these companies to stop forcing these gender idiologies into their games. And breaking the lore for that reason is a no-go. I don't think it's going to get better any time soon though, and I have an explanation as to why:
Hear me out, my theory is that some influential people with connections to investment companies like Blackrock are using these investment companies as tools to fulfil their agenda.
You see, investment companies have a lot of power as they hold and control a lot of money.
Here's a quote from an article which itself quotes a CEO of Blackrock:
“You have to force behaviors, and at BlackRock we are forcing behaviors,” Fink said.
The other panelist, former CEO of American Express Kenneth Chenault, agreed with Fink, saying “we’re doing the same thing.”
So I think these investment companies are forcing change through the use of their capital.
1:00 don't they mean theybabies? Kinda bigoted of them...
Theybies
I fear for the next mass effect game considering whats going on with dragon age right now :/
Eric Lang: These are your pronouns. I have identified you.
Krogans: We identify you as food. *Eats Eric Lang*
I never thought I'd root for a franchise to get it's plug pulled, let alone that it would be my favorite franchise
usually i dont care about the identity pronouns in everyday life, but it annoys the ever living shit out of me when people apply them arbitrarily to alien races and fantasy races with no respect for the lore. like if i got a job writing for star trek and i wrote that all klingons are gay because its usually a ship full of dudes, fans would lose their shit and rightly so.
“I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite gender affirming doctor on the Citadel”
"I bet your wife's boyfriend gave you a head-pat and called you a good boy for learning to swear..." Omfg golden roast.
I identify as Shepard/Commander because no one calls me anything else in Mass Effect.
This is a multi-factor problem that hurts us as fans:
- It is a trendy (and financial) large corporate consideration to inject DEI into corporate structure and presentation, sometimes to the exclusion of all else.
Hmph, joke's on Lang. I didn't even know there was a Nu-Mass Effect TTRPG until seeing a reaction video to _your_ video.
It applies to far more than games - "Don't muck with the canon!"
