Rough Country 6 inch suspension system with Kicker Bracer for my 2008 dodge ram 4x4. Install was done at Ted Wiens costume 4x4 Las Vegas! Running 37 inch tires on a 17 inch wheel.
Looks awesome and nice video. Provides great information that make me want buy the same lift kit. I too own a 2008 RAM 4x4 like yours. I run 35x12.50 on stock 17" wheels. I'm also concerned about wheel fitting because all manufacturer say that at last 18" wheels or larger are recommended. As you're running 17" as well, how wide are they and what backspacing and offset are they? I like to buy a set of Mickey Thompson Classic III 17x9, Back Space 4 1/2 and Offset -12.00 mm. I think that should be fine?
Your truck is just the way mine is supposed to be. I have a 2009 dodge ram 1500 4x4 hemi (laramie stock) and a 6"-lift with 37s on 17s are exactly what I plan for next spring. Just have to get it through the technical check here in germany!
I’m looking at this kit for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. Love the look of the braces underneath, how’s it running? Did you have to upgrade anything underneath in order to run 37’s?
How tall is this to the top of the cab? I wanna do a 6” lift on my truck but i work in the city a lot and have to park in the parking garages which the clearance is usually 6’9 on average i wanna make sure i can clear before i add all this money for a lift lol
What are the wheels you're running? I'm getting this kit installed next week and cant find wheels i like with the recommended 5.5" backspace. i'm planning to run 37x12.5x17 on a 9" wide wheels but may change my mind depending on what you're running on your truck.
Nice truck man, I have an 08 also and I have 35" tires and 17" wheels and haven't bough a lift kit yet, and on the installation sheet for this lift kit along with along with a few other kits i'm looking at it says that they recommend 18" wheels minimum. Do you get and interference with the wheels on your truck?
All the R-C 6" kits I've seen say you can't run any smaller than a 19" wheel? Is it because yours is a 08 and mine is a 15? I would Rather keep my 17s , how did you get it done? Whats the complete size of your wheels and tires? Looks Awesome!
Hey I'm lookin to get this kit on my 07, but don't have the extra cash for 37s. I'm runnin 35s right now. You said somewhere in the comments that you barely rub with you 37s so I'd be good with my 35s right? And would 35s look too small? Thanks man
No I would assume with 35s you would have zero rubbing. When I was looking around before I got the lift a good amount of people told me to run with 35s. So I am sure it will still look great. I do really like the 37s tho. Just gets your belly off the ground that much more. So I would do the lift then save up for the 37s at a later time
Hows the lift holding up? I like this one because it retains factory ride quality. I don't want anything crazy. Half attention and half functionality ;) I have the factory tire size but they are the Duratracs. Do you think it would look goofy with those? Zachary Lamphere
Lift is holding up great! I drive that truck hard and beat the shit out of it. Still going strong and had the lift for over a year now. Not sure how it would look with factor tires. Might be a little small. Maybe go with a 4 inch lift over the 6
Do you just have the 6 inch Rough Country and the 37's on this truck? Or do you have some body lift on it as well? I am looking for this exact look on my 08 Ram 1500.
Yup, just the 6 inch lift. No body at all. only thing different from the rough country lift is the front struts, upgraded those a bit, but that doesn't give any extra lift.
Hi Zachary, I’m looking forward purchasing this kit, but I have a concern since the fabricator mention this 6” suspension lift kit is not recommended for 4WD models since it could product vibrations. could you please let me know if you were able to keep the 4WD with no issues?
im about 2 months away from buying this kit i have an 08 ram just like yours but white have had my eye on this kit for a while now cant beat that price, my question, i also have a set of 17" wheels, do they 37" tires rub at all? i was thinking of going 35s but if a 37 will fit without rubbing im there lol
I am running the 37s fine for the most part. Only rubbing I get is when I am in a full turn and heavily articulate at the same time and even then it's very minor. Only time it happens for me is some nasty parts of some obstacles.
***** well the lift was right about 1000$ even. Install I would assume would change based on were you get it done. Wheels and tires is were it got pricey but I went with a higher end tire. All together out the door for the lift installed wheels tires, upgraded struts and shocks ect ect. was right about 6300$ And no I did not have to regear at all.
Turns them great. I didn't notice not much of a power loss at all. Just rapes the gas mileage. But that's to be expected with those size tired. I didn't regear. Still the factor 4;10
Well this video was made for the rough country video review contest. So was more about showing a little bit of everything. Been doing more wheeling lately and working on putting together a fulled detailed truck video!
+Zachary Lamphere I got a 2008 megacab 2500 with a swap out twinturbo srt v10 I also got a bull dog chip and a borla xtreme exughust. i ran it on my dyno it puts 800hp and 750 pounds of trq. Its sitting on a 10.5 inch lift with 42inch toyos and 22 inch rockstar rims. tries stick out about 4 inchs and I have raming bar with halo his led light bar. it's brand new pretty much. new seats all round subs new doors engine transmission ect. I got all my windows 5% windshield is 30% it's all black had since 2008 best feeling world when you let 800 hp out the back of that straight pipe 6 customs tips. love dodge working on my cummins 3500 2015. Love the truck!
Yes it is. Pretty sure it's 1000$ even. That's not installed or anything. Wheels and tires is what gets pricy depending on what way you go. But I am really liking this kit so far.
You just helped me make up my mind! Time to order my lift.
Great video can't wait to get my lift

I am digging it so far! Way to much fun. Send some pics when you get yours done.
Will i need to change anything to the truck when installing this lift kit?

I'd love to take this truck to some gold prospecting here in Cali 👌🏽
Always looking for some fun new trails
Nice truck bro. I have an 05 also with the 6" lift. Want to run 37s after seeing this, right now I'm running 35s.
Golf Buddy thank you brada! ya the 37 really just get the belly off the ground and give it that "look"
I live not far from you check out my truck on my channel. I need the 37s dude!
Golf Buddy Nice, ya if your in the vegas area we should go wheeling sometime! feel free to add me on facebook.
What size in the front? I want a 6 inch up front and 2 inch rear block
Thanks!
thanx for the vid
Are you still satisfied with the lift kit? How about the 37inch wheels. Still no problems for the front Suspension?
How tall is this to the top of the cab? I wanna do a 6” lift on my truck but i work in the city a lot and have to park in the parking garages which the clearance is usually 6’9 on average i wanna make sure i can clear before i add all this money for a lift lol
Awesome truck buddy! I want to install it on my truck but I dont know if it will fit in my garage. How Tall is your truck ?

+Zachary Fields none at all, the more rubber the better in my mind

Yes the width is 12.5
Do you still have the truck boss?
How are your cv shaft angels?

Don't do 6 it's not alot I got 15 inch dodge ram 3500 with air suspicion it rides nice get some 42 inch tries too looks great!
+Oriel Omar Gomez (AlmostProper) Mind rides really smooth, like all lifted trucks it wont be as smooth as factory but my is great, no vibrations here

Hey what is the with of the tires 12.5??
A sound of thunder
How's the lift holding up so far?
I have that same exact truck! If you don't mind me asking how much was the lift and everything total? I want to do this to my truck as well!
***** Also with the 37 inch tires did you have to regear the rearend??
***** well the lift was right about 1000$ even. Install I would assume would change based on were you get it done. Wheels and tires is were it got pricey but I went with a higher end tire. ***** That was also with a full size spare on matching wheel
How well does the hemi turn those 37s? Did you get different gears?
Turns them great. I didn't notice not much of a power loss at all. Just rapes the gas mileage. But that's to be expected with those size tired. I didn't regear. Still the factor 4;10
Hey bud I have a couple questions, is there a messenger on her or a way to contact you. It's about the lift and truck
why did you speed everything up? cant see the suspension working at all
Well this video was made for the rough country video review contest. So was more about showing a little bit of everything. Been doing more wheeling lately and working on putting together a fulled detailed truck video!
Do you have wheel spacers?
I have the 5in on my MegaCab
you liking it?
What size tires ?
Are you out by the gun range on the way to primm?
+Ryan Britt yup on the road to the old mine
Did you need to extend driveshaft?..is it sitting funny?
Nope drive shaft is still stock and runs perfect.
Would it be dumb if you get a 6 inch lift for a 2wd?
no, i have one on my 2wd. its the pro comp suspension though. i was able to fit 35's with no problem and it looks great.
Not dumb at all, I would just recommend a pre-runner set up, little more lift in the front and less in the back.
What offset do you have +18 ?
Yes sir! Enough to give it that nice aggressive stance but not look like a roller blade
What exactly is your mpg?

+Harry Styles haha nice, ill trade ya straight up!
10” wide wheels?
???
Is this lift still available through rough country and if so how much did it cost
Yes it is. Pretty sure it's 1000$ even. That's not installed or anything. Wheels and tires is what gets pricy depending on what way you go. But I am really liking this kit so far.
Zachary Lamphere
