Very true! It’s all about focus and work ethic. I’m 23 and just earned my Doctorate, got married and bought my first home. My younger brother (21) chose to become a welder and he recently built his first home. He and I have different life goals and so we took different paths. One thing in common was our drive to reach our goals. We joke because now he is in more debt than the college kid 😂.

College graduates on average make more $ over their lifetime than trades. Working trades is rough on the body. They are different paths for different types of people. It's ignorant for one or the other to feel superior over each other. They each have their pro's and con's.
The "indoctrination" comment you made tells me you never went to a university in the first place or you graduated in the 80's and you're just out of touch...

    • @kaliskunkog2255

I'm a bit older and starting a company where I need a good-size shop. I am looking hard at Steelmaster quonset hut design (fits in AZ), as it takes care of the roof and half the side walls. It is super cheap and strong, and you can insulate it as little or as much as you want. Get them big enough and you can put in a second floor or loft. I have a whole bunch of different designs/sizes I'm working on.

I own land to a deed with 3 acres but my parents have a Home on it already. Zoning denied me to build a primary residence but I am allowed to build a 30 x 40 garage with a 30 x 40 living quarters above it. So 1200 square-foot garage with 1200 square-foot of living above. I know we’re going to do 10 foot ceilings in the garage but we have not decided if we’re going to do three average garage doors or two bigger ones. Obviously it’s not massive like your shop house but all of this is extremely helpful and I appreciate all the information you have provided. I cannot wait to show my husband this video ! Both of our fathers are very knowledgeable and my father had a contracting business for many years so I’m really hoping that comes to our advantage as we plan on doing as much sweat equity as we can. thank you for putting your business out there I can’t imagine how many people this has helped. Stunning!!......I've followed your entire build and have really enjoyed watching your shop pad come together and its the ultimate barndo and for a young man at 23 years young this is perfect for everything a young bachelor needs. The fact of the matter that you're able to walk out of your living quarters right into a spacious shop that you will be able to have a lift or 2 in to play with your projects and create more content for your channel. I have seen many of these types of barndos and you my friend have by far they nicest setup to date!....you have a million dollar view and a million dollar top floor with the top room, closet and best of all the bathroom of a high dollar custom home all packed into your barndo. The wrap around decks especially the one on the second floor off of the master bedroom is flat out bad ass💪......then you have that loft style balcony that overlooks the shop snd that it a very cool feature, I notice the pool table on the shop floor and i have a suggestion my friend.....you should build a loft along the back of the shop that you can access by your second floor balcony and make the loft along the entire back wall and deep enough to put the pool table and a little mancave area so 1 you have your entire shop open on the main floor for any project and you could install the lifts and then under the loft you could put toolboxes, benches, etc. And then still be able to put 2 lifts in and able to raise anything you want all the way up and at the same time be able to overlook the shop from the mancave/loft/pooltable/bar/hangout area......you will then have all they ammentities of a 4K sq ft. House and then some. Overall at its current state this is one classy pad and you have room to grow (such as the loft for the pooltable/mancave area).......what i really like most of all is your "attention to detail" with the custom master bath and the lightning interior and exterior and at night from a distance everyone will see your castle on the hillside!!! I wish you the best of luck with anything else you choose to do here but hopefully you're now all settled and living inside your accomplishment!!!.......Christian consider my suggestions of the garage area loft for your pooltable/mancave you wont regret it and youll also be able to use the natural lighting windows up top and also double the usage of that space by basically creating another whole area!!!

@@Create208 sure thing man!! That loft will not only use up useful space for a good cause but also add value to your piece by adding useful square footage!!.....Nothing would be cooler then shooting around the table with your pals and looking out over the garage projects....i forsee some kind of hot rod build coming from you in the future now that you have the space to do whatever you wish......once you get a lift and the loft man your gonna have the go to spot for all your buddies and some gals!! Best of all though is now that you have the space you can keep creating other styles of content on your channel and making it grow....well buddy im looking forward to a future video of any and all updates so keep on keeping on!!!

You've really outdone yourself! You spent smart money in upgrades that count and that will pay for themselves many times over. That shouse will serve you well for many, many years, and it'll look great, too!

I negotiate for a living and you did an amazing job. I just had my whole house rewired for electrical, repiped with Pex, built a 35' x 25' carport with concrete, and I saved a TON of money negotiating each with different contractors. Your prices were very similar to mine but I did none of the work myself.
