lol i was just watching your camry wagon vid and came to this vid awhile after. seeing this comment posted from 7 years ago just fascinated me. im really high btw
Josue Garcia Eh, true. I plan on putting a few aftermarket modifications in my Miata lke a steering wheel and a radio and stuff, so it's more important for me than it would be for you.
I'm going to my enrollment to a course doing motor vehicle engineering in 2 days and every episode i watch makes me more and more excited about going back to college to start it :D Keep them coming guys
The reason a lot of professional technicians don't use electrical insulation tape is because the adhesive breaks down over time due to heat and friction causing the tape to unravel in most cases. This can be found to be true if you've ever worked on a pre-90's Mercedes where all the wiring is sticky inside the dash due to the above. Great job as usual, loved this episode! Keep em' coming!
According to NASA's own documents it is (19.6.1 NASA Technical Standards) But in saying that, its always great hearing from people who actually do it professionally (especially on actual space equipment which is freaking cool) so it would be awesome if you could share with us on the forum how you do it. (Link in description) Thanks Jeff.
16:37 umm, at the risk of me showing my age, that near-silent sound, the 'uh-oh' sounds like a notification from ICQ. Hooray for the 90's. Yay for repurposing.
I'd say this is one of the best mods. Fitting turbos, exhausts, bigger wheels... it's going to attract attention whatever the car... and not always good attention. Marty and Moog, I love your videos and have been a subscriber for some time but I definitely would not recommend immobilising so close to the ignition barrel. I've removed alarms installed by 'professionals' which have been installed in this way. Make it difficult for the thieves to find the immobilised circuits!
Guys, thanks for making these videos, I am a big fan of you from Palestine (Middle East). I wait for your episodes and videos to be uploaded so I can watch them, everyday! Good job guys, loving your show!
As a NASA employee who is trained in Cable, Crimp, and Harness, I fear to tell you that you need to be re-certified ;P There IS a mechanical bonding step that you missed! Love the videos! keep em coming!
I've only watched two of your videos, but I must say. What you guys do is pretty impressive. I'm going to be getting my 2006 Honda Accord soon and I'm looking forward to applying what I learned from you guys. Thanks for showing me ways to make my car even more attractive than I originally planned. Lol
Pls don't "rice" or "trick out" your accord. Theyre already great and mods that are functional are great; ie. Alarm tint wheels. But modding an accord is like modding a dodge neon 😓
Hello from the US. A very satisfying video. Not over the top exciting, but back to diy where you started. Fantastic job guys. Can't wait for the next one
I've actually never heard of any cases of people having their batteries stolen. I also don't really seem to look for information on that sort of thing.
Common guys, I know every single one of you watching this watched it all the way through and enjoyed every second of the MCM awesomeness. So why currently are there 38,930 views, and only 2,160 likes? that means approximately 5.54842024145903% of the viewers hit the like button. Let's be honest guys, we can do better. So let's hit that like button to help all the maaaaad people that are part of the Mighty Mods Crew. Thank you that is all.
Guys i really enjoy the progress youve made with your programs ,Ive bin a fan since i 1st saw Turbos and temples i only see big things happening for you and very proud ,I do have a channel and do DIY's but suck with doing video editing hopefully one day ill be able to do a cool show as you ,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!

I've got an episode suggestion in relation to alarms! Might you guys have some experience with PKE aka Smart Keys? Do you know of any good universal ones? and could you do an episode on how to install one and get it properly working?
I wired in a 2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 Harmon Kardon amp and door speakers into my 2002 Forester all for 45 bucks, big props to Marty and Blair MCM... mind you it was -14C and had to use the heat gun to warm up the wires to stuff the deck back in. :P
Nice choice dynamco alarms are good. When using the digital siren you can strip back the loom and hook the bonnet pin to the brown wire saving the need to run another wire in the cabin and freeing up wire 18 as it goes thru the plug then.
If you look at NASA standard 19.6 it says that this technique, "Lapped end type splices shall be accomplished in accordance with paragraph 19.7 (Requirement). " I will explain this more on the forum as you requested. BTW I love the show, I wasn't trying to be mean.
Zombies invaded the old garage and our Zombie Proof vehicle saved us... Actually the story is in issue 5 of the magazine as part of the 180SX article. (Link in description)
yes! DIY video, you guys should really cover remote starter installation, i get questions on how to go about it on standard transmissions all the time, and would love to see it! thanks
It is also acceptable to bend the end of the wires into hooks before tinning and then hooking them over each other and soldering. This adds a lot of strength to the joint while keeping weight low. Make sure to clean everything mechanically (a rubber eraser works good) and chemically (typically IPA is used) before and after soldering. Any contamination in your joint will cause weaknesses and an flux left on after soldering will cause it to corrode. -Some tips from your friendly neighborhood geek
I SPY A VTR INTERCEPTOR!!!! and it looks to be in great condition. I had two of em, and still have one. I did a whole bunch of bizzar mods to it and now have it for sale
Hey I'm Cruzito from Brentwood New York. Are you guys going to give away those recaro seats you guys have on the Shelf to your viewers? Cuz I truly would of love for them to go on my car lol !!! Well good show love it man 👍👍👍👍
MIGHTYCARMODS CAN YOU MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO INSTALL A KEY LESS ENTRY!!! AND HOW TO REBUILD AN ENGINE! I've learned so much from you guys! please keep making videos~!
This is awesome! Thanks guys for making these videos. Just a side note. It might be cool to install some ground lighting and wire the indicators to that instead. But maybe a ground lighting video would be cool on the Blue Turd.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this but MCM uploaded a picture on Facebook of them doing this alarm install on june 15. It was not a different episode because Marty was wearing the exact same clothes and it was a still picture of the scene when Marty is installing the bonnet pin. Thats why the blue turd is in the corner at 7:30. (Also Moog gave Marty a month to part with the blue turd). Also Marty I need to say one thing. Do Not crush the blue turd it deserves to stay with MCM.
Where do you guys get those punches from that you use at the 6 minute mark? I searched around but couldn't find one. PS: Awesome show! I've been watching your show since the beginning and I always look forward to the next episode!
I just bought a mint , 1 owner , low mileage 95 c package miata & the first thing I need to do is protect it ...Love you guys ...Watch all your videos ...Can you please tell me the name , model & anything you can about were I can get that particulal alarm/immobilizer with the interior lazor /perimeter protection ....I live in the U.S.A. , Hope I can get one here ! Thanks guys & thanks for making me pisss myself every time I watch ....Frank YOU TESTICLES ARE THE BEST Thanks !
I buyed a verry advanced alarm system with immobiliser and lot many option, but it have a lot of wires and I try to figure out if do do it by myself or get to an electrician. I'm afraid to burn something just in case I do something wrong
Im very familiar with 8739.4. I had the lash splice in mind when he was explaining it. My branch only permits lash splicing even on GSE. When he said that it doesn't have a mechanical bond he wasn't offering the the standard that included the mechanical bond.
Any day when MCM posts a new video is a good day!
Your video's aren’t half bad either
@@tejpalsinghparmar6443 Or a third bad, or a fourth bad or a firth bad, or a sixth bad etc...
lol i was just watching your camry wagon vid and came to this vid awhile after. seeing this comment posted from 7 years ago just fascinated me.
im really high btw
Damn its been 10 years already
Thanks mate. Not a lot of excitement in alarm installs but a good reminder to keep an eye on the safety of your ride!
its is 2020 and i still learning with these old videos thank you marty and moog
Super fun to watch back episodes and see evolution of Moog and Marty. Love to all.
Peace be the journey
I don't need an alarm on my Miata here in the US, My theft prevention is the fact that my car is Standard and not auto!
+Seraj89 [JDM Video Blogger] maybe.... but doubt it
+Josue Garcia Then they cut your softtop to steal your shit
+Alphabetical Nugget like what? all i have in m car is a calculator, some pennies, and a hat
***** yea and my hair dryer and comb

I like when Moog calls him Martin
Martin Mulholland is his real name
"Isn't it, Mahten?"
Very informative answer!!
Australian standards approved: AS/ NZS 4601:1999
- 2 point engine immobilisation (onboard relays)
- Code Hopping remote technology (anti-scanning, anti-code grabbing)
- Auto immobilisation (passive arming)
- Visual arming and disarming confirmation via blinkers
- Negative pulse central locking outputs
- All black wiring harness
- Insurance approved
theres always a motorbike in the background in most of your vids... why you no become mighty motorcycle mods :'(((
i'm so happy you guys are back to mods. the races were fun and all. but the mods is where its at
16:37 umm, at the risk of me showing my age, that near-silent sound, the 'uh-oh' sounds like a notification from ICQ. Hooray for the 90's. Yay for repurposing.

No.1 anti theft item in a car. Manual transmission.
Why wouldn't you have a licence in manual. If you cant drive manual you limit yourself in what you can drive. No one I know just drives auto.
only in North America though. As the rest of the world mainly uses manual transmission.
Jack Guo You heard of that boy who stole a car and couldn't drive manual?
I miss this kind of content, not saying the new stuff is bad, this was just better.
the only mcm vid I haven't watched.... more than 3 times.
You guys are back on track for being awesome...
the lineman/western union splice is also accepted nasa practice and from what i read in there, none of those are preferred over the rest
I was IPC solder certified at my last job, the requirements for a 'proper' NASA-spec solder joint is staggering. But rightly so.
Guys, thanks for making these videos, I am a big fan of you from Palestine (Middle East). I wait for your episodes and videos to be uploaded so I can watch them, everyday! Good job guys, loving your show!
what brand alarm system is this? anyone know?
As a NASA employee who is trained in Cable, Crimp, and Harness, I fear to tell you that you need to be re-certified ;P There IS a mechanical bonding step that you missed! Love the videos! keep em coming!
How very Australian "They're endangered so don't eat 'em."

moog: I need one of these in my pants
martin: what did you say
LMAO
I'm glad your back in action. The racing was fun but that was a lot of episodes.
You guys should do a how to video on how to install a train horn on a car or truck.
Marty! Congratulations on your gig with Motor Magazine! You must be stoked.
7:30 Blue Turd in the background
And Moogaru!

Hello from the US. A very satisfying video. Not over the top exciting, but back to diy where you started. Fantastic job guys. Can't wait for the next one
Will this alarm fit my honda?
It will, but Rake won't like it :-)
He'll love it
drive is the best car show on youtube. chris harris, matt farrah and mike musto are the kings of car shows
At 7:30 close your eyes and just listen hahah
I had no need to install an alarm, I just watched because the MCM guys are just plain awesome!
Why would someone who's stealing a car check under the hood first?
+Brian Patrick vibration sensor will trigger the alarm.
Maybe they aren't stealing the whole car, just taking parts of the engine!
There are a lot of fuckers who steal batteries you know....
I've actually never heard of any cases of people having their batteries stolen. I also don't really seem to look for information on that sort of thing.
+Brian Patrick one of my friends had someone take out his spark plugs and wires along with his intake
Mighty car mods, is back!! It is Great! We love it. Greetings from Denmark.
western union all the way... This isn't rocket science.
you guys rock, idk how i missed out for all these years
Thanks guys for finally getting back to the mod videos
Soundman even watches MCM. This makes me very happy.
Tired of everyone saying that that racing stuff was apparently so awful. I liked the switchup! True fans like me will enjoy anything that MCM puts out

I enjoy everything you guys do. I wish I had a friend I could do this sort of stuff with :/
Did you find car friends yet?
@@roddydykes7053 No, it actually got worse. Now I don't even go to events or meets anymore. Lol.
literally yesterday i was just thinking you guys should do this then i look and you have!
