I'm a brand new gun owner. I've never had strong feelings about guns one way or another until 8 days ago when I found myself in a situation where I could neither, run, hide, nor fight. Fortunately for everyone, the shooter decided to flee after targeting his victim (who was only wounded) and left everyone else alone. The only thing I felt afterward was anger at myself for letting myself be defenseless. Luckily, I live in Nevada and a week later I was at the firing range for the first time with my friends.

I hope to God that you never have to shoot another human being but if you ever do, I hope to God that you don't miss.
Look at taking classes on a regular basis at a local range.
You don't have to spend your every waking moment there. If you can only afford one class every few months, make sure that it builds on the previous class taken.

its a horrible thing to have to carry a gun wherever you go. ive been doing it for years. hopefully it will just be an inconvenience to you and you'll never find yourself in that place ever again but it is a great responsibility so please no the weapon you are carrying and its capabilities. once youve made the decision to carry its your burden.

One thing if you are hiding turn cell phone to silent and turn down your light. You will still be getting alerts or family may want to know if your safe. You don't want it to go off and give you up. Also practice on "what if" scenario when you are in new places. It gives you a game plan so you don't have to think in a panic.

I worked as a sub teacher.
Last year there was a "lock down drill" while I was at the highschool. Another teacher came in and asked if I knew what to do.
    Uh... Yes...
    1. Lock the door.
    2. Cover the door's window.
    3. Turn out the lights.
    4. Tell the kids to keep silent and silence their phones.
    5. Move the kids to where they are behind brick walls, not wooden doors.
This just seemed like common sense, but hey, we evidently have to practice leaving the building if it's on fire as well....

👍 I agree whole heartedly with your three points but would offer a FOURTH POINT to consider... If armed, DO NOT be the guy brandishing a firearm when law enforcement arrives on scene. An active shooter scene is amongst the most chaotic of environments, tensions run high, and adrenaline is set to max, and mistakes can be deadly.

I just want to say, when I am in places that I can't carry, like when I am doing a job in a school, I like to keep a note of the location of fire extinguishers; you spray someone in the face with a dry chem, it will stop them in their tracks. If you have ever used one, and breathed in any of that stuff, you are aware of this. Also, once they are struggling to breath, the canister is a great weapon.

Great information but if you are a CCW and well trained, do you keep your gun holstered when escaping and the shooter is not coming after you and only take your firearm out if the shooter threatens you? I just don't want to pull my gun out and others think I am the shooter unless being directly threatened by the shooter.

If your first thought is "What kind of legal trouble will I be in if I shoot?" then you shouldn't be carrying a gun at all. Now, if you are prepared to TAKE OUT the active shooter.... do it deliberately, with intent to "END" the threat. DO NOT seek cover or attempt to sneak up on the shooter. PULL- POINT- SHOOT-SHOOT-SHOOT..... Sometimes, a 3 second delay will cost 3 lives. You cannot afford to look for "the high ground."

Is it a legitimate gun free zone or is it just some private business that threw a sign up in a state where private gun free zones do not hold anything within the weight of the law outside of trespassing? Because those would be two different places.....one that has legal consequences for carrying a firearm and one that does not.
Your best bet is to only engage the subject if you don't have any other choice. IE: to save your life or someone else's.
If you are worried about legality in such a situation at the time, then you probably aren't in a situation that warrants self-defense or defense of others.

I'm going just say this even if I run into a building to hide and it says no firearms and I'm carrying my concealed carry and I'm presented with the opportunity to stop active shooter with a clear un obstructed shot less just say he had a bad day because I'm going to shoot but with that said before u do that u better be 150 percent sure that active shooter u are shooting at and also be willing to accept the consequences of your actions because even states with castle doctrine better known as stand your ground laws don't always cover u in public places it is normally stated u must attempt to retreat away from the situation so I'm going say make attempt to retreat and hide first if found and forced to defend your self then fight to disable or eliminate the threat

Didn't see the sign while running from an active shooter incident.(way too much adrenaline to read signs) Last resort; fearing for your life or your loved ones lives; take down the threat. If not, retreat to safety with loved ones. call 911.

Unfortunately, if you work for a certain American auto company which has a no firearms policy, this becomes "RUN OR DIE"! If you do carry and defeat the threat, instead of being hailed you will be terminated.

OK I got a very interesting question if you barricade a door and it opens outwards won't that just give the shooter the impression there might be people in the room.
And if the shooter is geared up why fight instead of evade because in order to fight it would make you have to expose yourself.
And if so why can't they make the windows where you can slip out of them to evade the shooter more efficiently.
While he's in the school and what can get you outside the school cause it's rare to have multiple school in one school.
Never ever ever ever heard of a 3 man killing team.
I think colombine was the only mass shooting 2 man team.

Can you use an “illegal” gun to stop a mass shooter?? For example, I’m at a mall in LA and a guy starts shooting with a AR; would it be alright to pull out a Glock43x(that may not be legal in CA) and commit to ending the mass threat?

    • @SirDopeBoy
      @SirDopeBoy 2 роки тому

My guess is; that I’ll most likely be thrown in jail along with the mass shooter or lose a court battle due to state laws. Can anyone give legit legal advice if that would be a smart move for me to do in a mass shooter situation?? I’d like to step up and be the one to stop such evil, I just don’t wanna be punished for doing something that I thought was right

Carrying a gun or not one should always carry a very good and strong knife. To be used to help flee, hide to get concealment and as the last resort one has the knife for sneak attack fight targeting vital organs. Must give your all chances possible for survival even if that means taking the predators life to save yours or your fellow man... one does what one had to do. Like the video says, you must commit 100% without question or hesitation....

I tell my daughter that if they have to hide in a room, grab the fire extinguisher off the wall if there is one. If he comes in, shoot them in the face. If you can't see, you can't aim. Once blinded, smash them as hard as you can in the hand and or face to incapacitate them.
I have taught this to coworkers as well since we are forbidden from carrying on the work premises. Security personnel are the only people allowed to carry.

  • @napalmstickylikeglue
    @napalmstickylikeglue 2 роки тому +3

It's quite simple. Whether your armed or not, get to cover, hide, and call 911, and stay. The last thing you want to be doing during an active shooter is running around with a firearm.... Or even running around in general. Nevermind the chance of catching a round .... The scene is going to be very chaotic. Law enforcement and other concealed carriers will not know who's the good guy or who's the bad guy.
Only leave where you're at if you have no other choice.

But if you live in the Peoples Republic of Washington State our Czar/Governor Inslee, Attorney General Bob Ferguson and our Insurance Commissioner will not allow its citizen gun owners to obtain insurance offered by USCCA because it is an out of state organization, among others things. Keep up the good work Kevin!

Can't take firearms on school properties yet these are the most utilized sites for mass shooters. It seems like it would be a lot less useful for mass shooters if they knew we were all carrying at let's say, school athletic events, graduations, etc.
