I was several times in Haiphong. Near the hotel was a small street food. When i was hungry at night, i got banh mi there or i ate pho at another place.

The food looks delicious. Can never go wrong with affordable food especially if they're delicious and nutritious. I would love to go to Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan because ive heard the food is very affordable.
I found Thai & Taiwanese food unpalatable. As for Vietnamese food, I prefer the cooks from the South. More variety and so very tasty. My favourite Asian food are to be found in Cantonese and Hong Kong restaurants. My favourite Vietnamese food is actually home cooked food by those from the South.
Ma'am I'm from India, your Hanoi city is clean and well disciplined. I really liked Hanoi. If possible planning to visit your country next year. I'm very much interested about your country's culture.

Vrushanka - the food is 100 times better in Southern Vietnam. They have beautiful cakes too. I didn't like any food introduced here. I ate at homes of Northern Vietnamese and I never liked ONE dish. They lack imagination and are second rate cooks, and hosts I may add. Not welcoming.
What? Hanoi is what? It's a 'pinche desmadre' as we'd say in Mexican Spanish. No, really, seriously. I've been to all big cities in SEAsia, often and some more than once. Saigon and Hanoi really do take the cake for their 'dynamism' and 'energy'. You think Jakarta is pure mayhem, you ain't seen nothing yet. 😉

I stayed in Singapore for a 10 day visit. I just couldn't eat the locally cooked food there in food halls. I lived out of 711.

Hi Van, I will be in Saigon Mid May for the first time and I was wondering if you know if I need certain travel Vaccines to Enter vietnam as I am getting mixed answers from websites. I'm talking about like Vaccines for Yellow Fever/Hepitatis A/Typloid/etc. I am coming from US. I'm leaning towards recommended but not mandatory to enter so far.
