  • After stripping down the electrical system to the barebones in one of this project's first videos it's time to finalize all of our connections, make the battery cables, re-do our fuse box, and get everything in place!
Building the wiring harness on our vintage Yamaha Virago took a TON of time, but it's a big item that is now complete.
One of the most important things when it comes to electrical work is the right tools. Instead of giving a how-to in the video, I decided to just put all the tools and supplies that I've come to rely on when it comes to doing motorcycle electrical.
These aren't sponsors, these are just tools/supplies that I use in my shop (and this video) after trying many over the years:
    Tools:
    Strippers and Crimpers: amzn.to/3SMDV7e
    Spark Plug wire crimpers: amzn.to/3CGPU0C
    Battery Lug Crimpers: amzn.to/3CJ76SZ
    Terminal Tool: amzn.to/3CKEhpq
Heat gun (mine is from harbor freight): amzn.to/3T3NtdM
    Torch head: amzn.to/3VcAM2j
The absolute greatest tool of all time: tinyurl.com/gr...
    Expendables:
Butt connectors with heat shrink (you'll need a lot of this size): amzn.to/3RMjdTJ
Connector Assortment with heat shrink: amzn.to/3fTiLWu
    In-line fuse holders: amzn.to/3ys9Z8m
    Fuse assortment: amzn.to/3EtWWXH
    Battery lug terminals: amzn.to/3em6IAH
    BEST standard electrical tape: amzn.to/3RM6Pmz
BEST High heat electrical tape: amzn.to/3VfYv1l
If you buy something from a link I may receive a small amount from amazon, while not costing you any more to purchase

Hi, i was wondering how you tackled ricks rectifier/regulator .i see two wires (assuming positive & negative)but there should be a third brown wire for a fuse box and main switch. How were those items connected to the rectifier?

I see you used a dual outlet ignition coil. How did you wire it from the TCI box? Did you use all three wires the red, the orange, and the gray? Or did you use just two? If so which two wires?

Do you happen to have the wiring diagram you used for your neutral safety switch and from your tcm to your coil? I’m working on a 920 now and I’ve got it to turn the motor over but I’m not getting spark.

Only thing nicer than the wiring is that stache! Can I order a large Farva?

Is there a video that would bore me with a wire by wire by wire walk through?
