What should Walter cover on a future Top 5? Let us know in the comments below.
Channel Awesome Yay I'm first to comment and like
Channel Awesome He should watch the anime "Ghost Stories". The English dub is AMAZING, funny and one of a kind. It's the abridge before abridges were cool.
How about rl stine the hunting hour. It a good show
Channel Awesome top 5 Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Segments
Top 5 Tales From the Crypt episodes
"The Tale of the Unexpected Visitor" an introvert's worst nightmare
The tale of the expected visitor-also an introverts worst nightmare
Used to love watching this and Tales from the Crypt
Crypt is the best
SupaPixelGirl I've seen u on a game grumps video today wtf
no one cares
I care.... :'(
Dick.
Even the worst episodes are better than a lot of creepypastas
But a lot of other creepypastas are better than the best episodes.
"So-nic.EXE is no laughing matter!"
(Maybe that reference is too obscure... Search for 'Spingebill's Hazardous Camping Episode'.)
The only CreepyPasta I ever liked was the Russian Sleep Experiment. That was pretty cool.
Boner Begone How about the one with a paranoid guy and parasites that control people through eyes?
I thought that Joseph sent you into space, kars
This show was so good that even its "worst" was good.
Also notice how all these are from season 5 and 6. Seasonal rot anyone?
Lizardman one of them was from season 2
tale of the full moon was season 2
Seasonal Rot like American Horror Story starting with Roanoke and every season after
Yup
Me: I liked that one.... Oh, I liked that one too...yeah okay, that one's pretty bad😂😂
"The Tale of the Unexpected Visitor" has a great premise for a horror story. In fact, I read one that used a similar set up and it was really good
I believe the “out of place 50’s motif” is a weird sorta nod at “I Was a Teenage Werewolf” which is even stranger cause no kid that watched this show probably even knew that movie existed. Maybe for the adults that’s watched the show? Who knows.
Wait a minute, they made an episode about Tamagotchis trying to take over the world? That's stupid and amazing all at once.
Ain't nothing like head banging to some Prince knock off singing about toys.
The episode with Mia Kirshner where she has to "feed the hounds" is pretty scary even now. It's just really eerie.
The other one that I will always remember is one where a girl died in her room after some kids teased her and locked her in there. She became trapped in her mirror and so she'd write "help me" backwards all over the walls of the room.
Basically any of the episodes where things don't end very well for anyone involved really freaked me out. It doesn't TOTALLY hold up but some episodes are still scary as hell.
Fuck Zeebo the clown.
Even as a kid I thought the Full Moon episode was really dumb.
How do you keep a werewolf as a pet? Most of the time the wolf is a human.
Just a bit of trivia but the main boy in the Manaha is the first voice of Arthur
R Ryle M really? Sweet
One of the members of the midnight society is the voice of one of Arthurs friends
In the tale of the midnight ride episode the actor playing ichabod crane voiced the principal in Arthur
Are u afraid of the dark was the best horror show of the 90s
Check out the Up All Night podcast! 😍😍😍
I don't remember a lot of the episodes well, but the one that creeped me out the most were these undead zombie things that crawled out of the water.
I also remember one (I think it was AYAOTD) in which there was the ghost of a girl killed in an accident at the schools science lab, and she was trying to keep it from happening again.
"The Tale Of The Virtual Pets" would have been creepier if the kids had gone missing, only to turn up as other virtual "pets" down the line.
I feel like more than a few Are you afraid of the Dark episodes have been turned into pretty good Doctor Who episodes.
"... who isn't big on computers while everyone around her is tech savvy..."
Unfortunately, this sounds like my life now.
I absolutely love your introduction! Very creative and nostalgic. Love love love.
I submit to the midnight society... "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs!"
How is that a thing ?
"Ahem hem.......Chapter 1. Douglass had to poop..."
My least favorite episode was always the Tale of the Hungry Hounds. It's such a slow burn with bland characters, nothing creepy or interesting to keep you invested, and no twist or moral to make the story worth watching. It always puts me to sleep.
And I really like the Unexpected Visitors. It had a great concept and some legitimately creepy moments. It's honestly one of my favorites.
I'd like you to cover RL Stine the Haunting Hour.
Really hoping you get around to do Freaky Stories, I'll forever have that "It's a true story, happened to a friend of a friend of mine." line stuck in my head.
Oh, The Tale of the Unexpected Visitor scared me when I was a kid. I had a thing about aliens, more of a creeping existential terror than anything. Alien abduction, being taken away from everything you knew, being surrounded by these strange creatures who were going to God knows what to you... Yeah, that really got under my skin. I think Perch there is supposed to be a parody of 90s stereotypes, which I usually think is pretty funny. Remember Totally Kyle? He cracked me up. Plus that one kid in Stepsister from Planet Weird was hilarious.
You almost had me upset at the end, because I thought it was the one where Dr.Vink was using peoples fear to flavor soup.
EERIE INDIANA/TFTC PLEASE! 😁
(Tales From the Crypt)
Eerie Indiana should be done next without a doubt!
HOLY CRAP in the phantom gourmets episode, the mom is played by Beverly from the it Miniseries. You know what that means... WUH-HA!! WUH-HA!! WUH-HA!!
SlitheryWriter1 That's neither Annette O'Toole nor Emily Perkins friend.
T Bird she REALLY looks like adult Beverly though, admit it.
SlitheryWriter1 I don't see the resemblance.
Annette O'Toole has red hair, a smaller mouth, longer nose and more prominent cheekbones. Her face is burned into my psyche because she was one of my earliest on screen crushes as Lana Lang.
T Bird eh, I guess it's just me then.
you better do top 5 scooby doo where are you episodes
Man, I wish there were more shows like this and goosebumps on tv now a days
I love that one episode with the girl and the lonely old woman. Does anyone else remember that?
Tale of apartment 214? That was a cute episode
The Tale of the Lonely Ghost
When I heard the words "pet detective" I couldn't help but think of Ace Ventura 😂
The Phone Police episode is an honourable mention.
Gruesome Gourmets may be terrible overall, but that dream sequence in the freezer was absolutely terrifying to me as a kid. So many nightmares from that scene. Honestly I still find it creepy as shit today lol.
Honestly, “tale of the gruesome gourmets” is such a guilty pleasure for me. I love how insanely lame and corny it is. The acting is so horrible and over the top by pretty much everyone in the episode that it actually makes it enjoyable.
Yooooooooooooo The Tale of the Unexpected Visitor is one of my favorites! I've *never* forgotten that episode, although I did forget the title so thanks for reminding me!
Loved this show along with Eerie, Indiana
I knew the Tale of the Gruesome Gourmets was going to be number 1!
Yes
Would love to see a top 5 boy meets world.
Me too. 😁
Why not girl meets girl?
Worst list for GMW.
Lmao NO.
The tale of the full moon is literally just Fred 2: night of the living fred
I met Ron Oliver who wrote the moon episode. While I was a bartender at a Tiki Bar in Vancouver. He wanted to sneak in the most camp episode of all time and loves bad horror movies from the mid century.
He directed a lot of good episodes but the Moon was his fav.
That episode was one of my favorites and one of the ones that I really remembered. I loved the kitsch even as a kid, and who doesn't want a monster family?
I would LOVE to see a top 5 for Tales From The Crypt! :)
DO EERIE, INDIANA
I totally forgot this video was coming up! That was a pleasant surprise. :D I was always an Are You Afraid of the Dark? kid. I only caught a couple Goosebumps episodes (I think I ended up watching more of the R.L. Stine stuff after I had a niece than I ever did as a kid myself). So IDK which was objectively better. I just know that I've enjoyed what I've watched of both! :D
7:09 makes me laugh every time he says that and the way he moved his arms like that! WHO TALKS AND MOVES LIKE THAT?! IT'S TOO HILARIOUS!
Walter, I had the same virtual pet! They were called Nano Fighters, & you could connect them to fight other people! :D
When i saw Tale of the Full Moon recently, when the MC breaks into the neighbors house I was honestly expecting him to find his Mom and the neighbor doing the nasty! lol
XD
Been loving your Goosebumps and AYAOTD episodes!!
Kinda surprised the episode where the kid gets stuck in a pinball machine wasn't on this list. I always felt that one was really weak.
are you afraid of the dark is like my fav show from my early teenage years
Walter have you ever seen beyond belief fact or fiction ? If you have will you do a top 10 video on it ?
In my memory about the Gourmets, the neighbors really were cannibals and they ate the bully...
That song from "50's motif" clip was also used in the Tale of the Ghastly Grinner. One of my least favorite episodes was always the Tale of the Fire Ghost.
The Mahana ending scene that was shown reminds me about the very first episode Harry and his bucket full of Dinosaurs
Jed's mom was trying to relive her youth?
Fun fact: The guy who played Johan is the very first voice actress behind Arthur from the cartoon of the same name, and the actor behind Eddy is also the guy who played Andy from the Midnight Society.
There’s actually a movie of the series that I watched in 7th grade, it’s about a girl that can only remember a curcist that everyone else forgets about after it disappears
OMG! Every time I see a clip from Heavyweights, it reminds me that one of the extras in the film was once an next door neighbor of mine when I lived in Asheville NC. ..
Who was he in the film you ask? The soccer goalie in the raccoon skin cap .. He's listed in the end credits....
I don't know if it was a bad episode, but the one that got me to stop watching the show was The Tale of the Chameleons. It's about a girl who got turned into a chameleon, while a chameleon replaced her. And that was how it ended. The chameleon replacing the girl won, and the girl-turned-chameleon was left to drown in a well.
What was the name of the movie where they were advertising the chocolates?? I saw part of it as a kid and I alwAys wondered how it ended!
TTot Full Moon is so misunderstood. I love that episode and it's '60s B-movie vibe.
In the cannibal episode, they really were cannibals. It's implied at the end.
It was a wrestling Pay Per View they were trying to get over the Satellite, not watch some band lol. That was one of my favorite episodes.
OMG, the Biff comparisons 😂
The Tale of the Full Moon is literally just the plot of Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred.
The Digger creature looks like it inspired the horrible Doctor Who villain the Wire in The Idiot's Lantern.
When I saw the first two are from season 5 I was like 'oh obviously they just ran out of ideas in the later seasons and those episodes weren't as good.' But now we're into season 2 with the original cast. this is classic Are You Afraid of the Dark territory. how the hell do they have Bad episodes?
does anybody know if we still getting The Are You Afraid Of The Dark movie?? since it got delayed
those guys slipping on the ice cubes... wow haha
I bet that the out-of-place 50s tripping is written by David Lynch @4:30
The Kid from The Full Moon plays on General Hospital, don't ask me how I know that. lol
I was wondering if you ever saw the haunting hour show also by R.L Stine?
The Truman Show clip cracked me up 😂
Does anyone else want that pineapple cider? That sounds god damn delicious
I’m pretty sure that they were cannibals because they had part of chuck’s shirt at the end🌟
I would definitely add the Tale of C7 to this list
holy crap i remember that virtual pets one. so many years later.
Anyone else get disapointed when they learned the "magic powder" was just non dairy creamer?
I agree with all of these except for the Unexpected Visitor, just for its humorous aspect alone. :D
Jim Carey had me dying lol
The full moon one was my fave growing up as a kid lol
I gotta go with Goosebumps only because I grew up with that instead of Are You Afraid Of The Dark? However I get the feeling that the latter was of higher quality. Am I wrong? Am I right? You wanna fight about it?
Fun fact the kid who played Jonah in the tale of the manaha was also the same kid who was the first voice for Arthur Aardvark in the cartoon of the same name.
The renegade virus was kinda lame in my opinion
Ohh that one was soo bad.
Can you do top best and worst Tales from the Cryptkeeper?
The Unexpected Visitor has the greatest line in the entire series 🎵 I had spaghetti todaaay🎵
Anybody remember that show on Disney called So Weird?
I think I remember episode from place 2... or something similar, but it was with an arcade game... maybe that was from Goosebumps.
2:11 is it just me or does Jeff (pretty sure that's the guy on the right) look like a way young Peter Capaldi?
So glad I have the complete series on dvd. Goosebumps sucks!
YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
Great list man, but completely disagree about the full moon episode, its a classic and very unique!
Top ten best/worst twilight zones and top ten best/worst tales from the crypts. I know you usually only do top 5, but these shows have a larger selection of episodes to choose from and are such great series.
That's too easy. All the worst Twilight Zone episodes would be the season three hour long format ones that the network forced. Except maybe the Hitler one and the one that inspired the Futurama LEFT BELOW meme.
I always love seeing Walter Bananasack. I like his voice.
I'm surprised the movie that had both Professor Vink and Sardo wasn't listed in either video.
I think that happened in the episode called “The Tale of Cutter’s Treasure.”
could you make a video about top 10 slashers
Also, can "Korman's Kalamity" and "Seance" be on the list?
How did the fortune cookie episode not make this list but Full Moon did?
My Worst Are You Afraid Of The Dark Episodes are
The Tale of Jake And The Leprechaun
The Tale Of The Phone Police
I remember a terrible episode about a kid trapped in a pinball machine
some of these concepts were done to varying degrees of success elsewhere. Mainly Disney Channel original movies. Like the werewolf one sounds similar to "Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire" and that one where they beam messages into space and aliens come because of it sounds like "Can of Worms"
"We are not toys" is my new ring tone
