    Lol this is like the third video I’ve watched where the dentist said they hardly experienced any pain after their wisdom teeth removal. One even played basketball the next day. Oh how I envy them!! I had all 4 of mine removed 6 hours ago and the pain is awful. I know they say to drink plenty of water and eat soft foods for the first day but at this point I’d rather starve. It hurts to much too drink anything. Pharmacy is taking forever to fulfill my prescription for pain medicine. Took some Tylenol in the meantime and it’s been useless. I just want to fast forward to the next month, this is miserable. Ps. I know everyone’s experience is different but it doesn’t help that I don’t have a high pain tolerance to begin with Lol

      After I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday it only hurt when I did the first swap of gauze 1.5 hours after the surgery. The next few swaps hurt as well (I was told to swap gauze every 1.5 hours) after a few hours I said screw that and stopped putting gauze and drunk water and had no true pain since. I only got 1 side (top and bottom) taken out yesterday. I have to go back in a few days to remove the wisdom teeth on the other side. I hope that side goes well too. Can’t wait for this ordeal to be over with!

    I had a good experience with my wisdom teeth removal. After a while the bleeding stopped and I had been drinking cold drinks like milkshakes and slushes to keep the swelling down. I’m very grateful that I didn’t have any pain before my wisdom teeth surgery and after. I’m also thankful for the drs and nurses that cared for me through the process.

    All I want is to eat real food. My mom slipped some tumeric in my soup, I drunk it and it burned. A couple hours later I wake up and she's like how do u feel I'm like a little better, some of my inflammation went down. She goes oh really. I'm like yeah but for some reason it burned really bad. She goes "oh well I put turmeric in your soup since it has healing agents." All I can think of is seriously, like yeah it helped but it burned.

      This. I’m almost certain it came from that metal weight tool they lay on your larenx. It’s suppose to help monitor your breathing.
      This is most likely for patients who went under.
      That sore throat was like an insult to the injury. Made it so much more annoying. As soon as it went away, the experience became way more manageable. Having to do that annoying hesitating sore throat gulp was the biggest chore.
      But also, it’s important to breathe out of your mouth. You want to get that bloodclot to solidify as quick as possible

    I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out about two and and a half weeks ago. Most horrible experience ever. My dentist didn’t give me much instructions so I was rinsing my mouth the same day. The pain medication they gave me made me throw up every time I got up or tried to eat anything. I think that made the clots dislodge and then I got an infection it was the most disgusting thing I would wake up with a pool of pus and blood in my mouth. Eating was so painful. The swelling lasted for about a week and a half but there was a part along my jaw that was very tender and hard I could barely open my mouth.! I’m into my third week now since the removal and I still can’t eat solid food very well because it hurts a little to chew. I wonder if it’s normal that other teeth hurt close to the areas where they removed my wisdom teeth. I started working out again this week but it starts to hurts a little when I do.

    i woke up sunday when one of my molars pretty much exploded in my mouth. i went to the dentist the next day (today) and she said it was a wisdom tooth they had to pull it. they gave me some gas that made me talk funny and mix my words (i kept saying "sister's girlfriend" instead of "girlfriend's sister"). they numb me with some gel and hit me with a couple shots. i didnt feel anything going on then and 6 hours later i still don't feel anything. i might later, but i'm not scared. the worst part is the pre-gas anxiety and that's over. its never as bad as how it is in your own head.
    edit: sure would be nice to smoke a cigarette tho!

Today I will not eat nor drink other than mineral water on room temprature. Yesterday I've raised the bed to be in on a 10 degree incline and I will keep it that way after recovery, also will not put any alarms because rest is the best medicine. Got some ibuprofen and I hope that I will not need those, the previous wisdom teeth gave less recistance than this one and that time I did not need pain meds. Maybe because I end all my showers at 50F. This time I've seen video's about the removal and it's crazy that there was no pain the previous time after seeing the jaw bone exposed.

      Jeff Roze the first thing I would do is call the oral surgeon who took out the teeth. Most likely what he will tell you is that it will slowly go away and you should slowly stretch your mouth further and further open until it is back to normal. But it's important to talk to the oral surgeon or his/her staff because they were there during the surgery.

    Ever since got my 4 wisdom teeth out I havent been able to open my mouth. I wanted to check if the blood clot was ok but i cant because I cant open my mouth.. the dentist gave me stitches on all but 1 tooth and im concerned about that one.. Its the second day of extraction (i got it done on Tuesday and it is now Thursday). I brushed my front teeth and stayed a tooth ahead of where the stitches are placed. I dont know if swallowing my spit makes it worse, but my mouth creates so much spit i generally swallow a lot. So the day of extraction I swallowed so much because of the extra blood and saliva. I dont know if ill be okay or not and all ive been doing these past days were worry if id contract dry socket or not... can you please tell me a sure way to know if i have a blood clot or not. ive searched all over the internet and all they said was to wait for intense pain the coming 3-7 days but is there any other way to check..?

      Anyways, I actually had a dentist appointment about.. A week ago..? They took X-rays and showed me that it was 100% healed over like nothing was ever there. Quite cool. Since my tooth extraction, my sister had hers done as well and she was so Careless. She did all sorts of things I couldn't do and was just fine. I'd say it's pretty hard to get dry socket unless you're TRYING to get it.

    Hey Doc just had all 4 of mine pulled 3 days ago. Started off on solid liquids and on day 3 feeling a lot better upgraded to chicken soup w/ veggies. Everything was soft and mushy for the most part and I can chew lightly w/ my front teeth. Not sure why tho all of a sudden at night I had a burst of blood come through my back bottom tooth area where extraction site is on the left side. Been rinsing my mouth for over an hour now and decided to use gauze again. Any idea what could’ve happened?

      S Dot Possibly part of the blood clot came out. If there’s no pain or swelling there is nothing to worry about. But you can always call your oral surgeon and ask.

    How long until you can eat normally again? It’s been a week and 1 day for me and I’ve been being careful with the foods I eat but i’m still having a little trouble eating. Is it okay to eat things like rice and suck out of straws after this time period?

    • @KantorDental
      @KantorDental  4 роки тому +2

      Boony Boo yes at this point you can start eating normally. The blood clot is most delicate the first 48 hrs but if it has been over a week than you should be fine. If you're still feeling pain or are having trouble with your jaw you may want to contact your dentist.

    I had a single Impacted Wisdom Tooth Extracted about 6 weeks ago. That was the easy part. I'm still suffering from jaw pain, swelling and headaches daily. I also developed Dry Socket. I follow up with my Dentist every week. The pain is decreasing each day, but I don't know of anyone who is still having symptoms 6 weeks after the procedure. The Surgeon is now considering cutting open the surgical area and cleaning it out to see if there is any infection or other issue. I certainly hope I don't have to go through that.

    How do i go about not eating solid foods? I'm not a diabetic but I have another issue where I need to eat a good meal to feel ok. Eating banana or apple sauce doesn't do it for me. Can I still eat regular food that's easy to chew like fish on the next day??? It's still soft.

    • @KantorDental
      @KantorDental  5 років тому

      MmXtreme M yes you can eat soft food. Just try not to let the food go to the area where the wisdom teeth were removed.

      Ashley Thomas I would call my oral surgeon at this point and have them take a look. Bleeding should not continue for that long.

    Its day 4 after 4 wisdom teeth extractions yesterday the 3rd day was the worst face was swollen and super sore , only on ibuprofen and tylenol I said no to painkillers so I just have to suck it up buttercup. 2 things I'm worried about is it almost day 5 and still cant close my jaw to where my teeth close together like they normally do and it's been almost 5 days and last of course worried about dry socket since I had all 4 taken out , sleeping upright sucks so bad all I want to do is lay on my side but I cant , if your reading this and about to get wisdom teeth surgery the best things to do is saltwater syringe rinse the day after surgery every time you eat rinse, plenty of bags of peas to put in the freezer so you can hold them on your jaw and teeth the peas work best because they form around your area that's swollen , write down each time you rotate from tylonal and ibuprofen and keep your head elevated and last be patient it will end soon , I'm not a big smoker only 4 ciggs a day but haven't smoked since before surgery so I'm counting down a full 7 days until I get to smoke a full cigg then rinse mouth out with salt water and not to suck the cigg hard at all and limit myself to 1 to 2 ciggs a day and clean mouth soon as finished but dont smoke until atleast a full week of recovery, hope this info helped for future surgery goers and patients who are mild smokers like myself . Good luck you will be fine

      Bryan Smith two things. Keeping in contact with your oral surgeon will be beneficial. Also daily cigarettes, no matter how few, slows healing.

    Extraction sites heal from bottom to top, if you have a piece of food stuck that light rinsing won't remove, leave it! I had all four of mine taken out one week ago, I didn't have any pain literally, just a slight discomfort

      Bottom and top being? Bone jaw to gum?
      And please please if you see this, I got all 4 teeth removed 2 days ago, but my mouth kinda stinks because I have tiny food particles there, how do I rinse it? Will it affect the healing process or cause inflammations?

      Esmeralda • I would suggest leaving them in there. Don’t mess with the surgical area at all. Don’t swish too hard and don’t create too much suction in your mouth. The food will exfoliate on its own.

    • @KantorDental
      @KantorDental  5 років тому +5

      Yecid Gustavo Romero Higuera I think it is definitely possible. It depends on the healing and what your oral surgeon told you. I wouldn't run or swim so hard that I got sore. You don't want your body to be repairing multiple areas at the same time.
