Very nice build👍🏼 my first ever motorcycle was a wr250r. I sold it after 2 years. I’ve always regretted selling mine 🥺. Been wanting to get another but at the same time waiting for Yamaha to come out with a wr300r but I don’t think it’s ever going to happen. Enjoy the bike, I’ll be checking back for the 100k km update 😁
Money well spent Josh awesome bike, jacquis got 43,000k on her WR250r with no issues, the perfect super lite adventure bike, would love hear your thoughts on the suspension upgrade
That’s great to hear that you’ve had no issues with it! I will certainly make a video about the suspension once I get some thorough testing of it done 👍
Loving these vids mate! You've pretty much done every mod I have. I hadn't actually added it all up (or maybe I was too scared haha) Looking forward to your long term review. I feel the same about mine. Will never sell it and hope to rack up at least 100K kms one day :) It's an awesome bike and I've also had a Vstrom 650 which I spent a fortune modding and then sold. Wish I could afford to keep both as I loved the strom and miss it when doing longer road rides on the WRR. I'll have another one day!
Good luck running the little wr into the ground. Will take some doing! Two more things I'd add. Heated grips and every time I change tyres I put new ultra heavy duty tubes in. Maybe overkill, but I hate flat tyres.
WOW 😲😬 my DRZ400e cost me $1500. top end rebuild cost $450. 17ltr tank $300.(second hand as new)😁tires (d606 front and rear $300. mirrors $25. (cheep ebay folding ) suspension standed as better than my ability 😂🤣sooo lets say $2575. all up 😁👌 Sooo yes mine is a ADV build for a TIGHT ASS 🤣🤣 oh and stock seat as i am WAAAAY to tight to buy a comfy seat 🤣😬 love your WR250r 😎👍keep well mate and get better soon as missing your ride videos 😉🍺
@@AusMoto Must admit i have fallen in love with the old DRZ 🤔😁 and just how dudy lucky was i to get one sooo cheep 😲 even the wife thinks i stole it 🤣🤣
@@AusMoto mate, go 14/51 you'll love it, that is the sweet spot! It's in between 13/47 and 13/48 in ratio. Yeah top speed suffers 'slightly' on the highway but it's perfect off road. It's like it was made for that gear box. I tried the ever popular 14/49 and hated it. Wasn't good enough for the technical enduro single tracks :)
You do notice the weight, especially when taking it through the tough stuff, but I just don’t fill it up to full if I know I don’t need the extra range.
It did make a decent difference with keeping wind off the chest but main benefit was keeping phone dry/clean on the handlebars. Unfortunately I actually broke it on my most recent ride, not sure if I’m going to replace it yet.
Ah, bloody UA-cam! I wish I could've got my hands on a new one, but they stopped selling them new when I got mine. I got lucky and mine only had ~2k kms.

Thanks heaps man, it's such a good bike!
Yeah, I currently got the Vee 1000 and the WR, it's a great combo!
@@AusMoto best combo out there I reckon mate, I just wish I had them both at the same time haha
That's a lot of coin spent on farkles man but that bike is set up perfect now bet ya can't wait to get out on it 🤙 Dig the shirt too champion haha 😎👌👌
Yeah, I couldn’t believe it when I saw the total spent 🤯
Might be able to get out for an overnighter on it this weeken🤞
😎😎😎

Haha thanks and I'll have to add them to the ever growing list!
What are oil change intervals
@@andrewgreen1181 the book says every 5000km, but I do ever 2500km.

Jeff, we all know the $11,936 extra is worth it for the 6th gear! hahaha ;)
@@leighhill9185 🤣🤣 you could be right 🤔
Curious why you chose that exhaust over the popular fmf options? Great bike!
I heard good things about the GYTR pipe, so just went with that
Even if you spend 20k plus on a new bike, you’ll end up throwing some money at it to make it work for you. Can’t wait for the next adventure 👍
Yep, that's always the case, did the same thing with my T7 haha!
Great vid mate, soon adds up hey. Has the screen made much difference?
Thanks mate!
It sure does, makes freeway riding more tolerable and also great for additional weather protection and keeping the phone dry (mostly).
What front chain ring do you run mate? I note you have 48 on rear. (I have 49 and at times it's screaming on hwy)
@@darrynellis2709 Still on the stock 13, and yeah, she screams on the hwy.
I'm going to change to 14/50 next, I think that might be the sweet spot!
Agree I've ordered at 14 to give that a go 👍

Go anywhere now..looks great btw 👍

Adds up quick ey!
Yep! 😂🤣
Just curious.. does the extra weight from the bigger tank effect the handling when full?
You do notice the weight, especially when taking it through the tough stuff, but I just don’t fill it up to full if I know I don’t need the extra range.
Awesome
👍
When did you do this build?? How did you find the exhaust?
It’s been over 1 year but most of the stuff was put on within 3 months of getting it.
Exhaust I found on FB marketplace
Do you think the parabellum windscreen made a difference?
It did make a decent difference with keeping wind off the chest but main benefit was keeping phone dry/clean on the handlebars.
Unfortunately I actually broke it on my most recent ride, not sure if I’m going to replace it yet.
Yes, know the feeling well.. I bought a DR650 for $7,000 and spent $5,000 on it..was a great bike after that..
Haha yep, the DR is an awesome bike, I was very close to getting one over the WR!
@AusMoto I'd love a WR250R but as I'm only 173cm I'd need to lower it 100mm !!! Lol
Damn you UA-cam didn’t get the notification about the vote :[ I would of guessed over 15k but for some reason I thought you got the bike from new
Ah, bloody UA-cam!
I wish I could've got my hands on a new one, but they stopped selling them new when I got mine. I got lucky and mine only had ~2k kms.
