    Great video mate thanks. I have 2018 WR250R with only minor mods for day trips in SE QLD. Have done 10000 km and really love it. Good to see that you can turn this bike into a proper desert ADV bike. I agree it’s worth investing $ into this bike to make it fit for purpose.

    Hello from Utah, USA. Fun to see the different set ups. Thanks for sharing. 14/50 sprocket, Dunlop 606 front and rear. Will switch to the MT21 next time on front. 606 front is not planted until almost no pressure it seems. Skid plate, seat concepts, Evo footpegs round mine out more or less. I did switch out the fork fluid to Belray 5 weight when I rebuilt leaky fork seals. Made a huge difference on the front forks vs stock fluid. It would be interesting to see a comparison of the teknik suspension vs the gold valves. Teknik may edge the gold valves out.

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому

      I'm very interested in the suspension. I want to do a before and after video of stock vs Teknik. We are still in Covid lock down here, so hopefully can get a comparison video before the end of this year. Do you know what the stock weight for the front forks are?

    • @A10Cobra
      @A10Cobra 4 роки тому

      DriveOnLeft Stock Wr250r suspension fork oil is O1. Supposed to be a zero weight oil on the shopyamaha website. Teknik publishes the stock oil as SAE 5 weight. The stock O1 is very sticky in comparison to the Belray 5 weight. I noticed a big improvement with the Belray oil but it may have just been the correction of off balance oil in the forks due to one leaking seal. Rear spring sag set to 100mm for me. Maybe this winter I will install the gold valves in front and rear. My brother has a stock WR so it would be fun to compare their handling characteristics with the change.

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment! I will be doing a video soon on the front fairing. As for the exhaust, I have enriched the fuel using the tacho settings and welded the standard A/F sensor on to the pipe. This way the bike can still alter the fueling for what its worth, like it would with the stock exhaust.

    Great job on that bike! The WR is on my list of potential replacements for my stolen 250L. I’m going to look up your video on the fairing you made. That looks badass! Nice job overall sir. How does the rally cross wear on pavement? I’ve always been biased towards dirt performance when selecting a tire but I would also commute to work on it on occasion. I’ve used the Golden Tyre 216 fatty as a dual sport front which is technically a street legal tire but like most aggressive knobs it will cup pretty quickly.

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому

      Hey mate, it wears pretty well to be honest. 2 rear 606's to one front rally cross and it will still has some meat left on it. I love this combination. Fairing video link is here: ua-cam.com/video/58QVzv7iJEg/v-deo.html

    hey with the Outback Motortek X Pannier racks on the wr250r. I notice that the bike does not have pillion pegs, is there a way to install the pannier racks while keeping the pillion Pegs on the bike? I understand you used the pillion pegs mount to mount the steg pegs.

    Interested as to why the R model as opposed to the F enduro model and build that up in the same mode.?

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому +3

      Hey Mate, Thanks for your comment! Only my Enduro mates run tubless, so they can go down to ridiculously low PSI. Only issues I see is the upfront cost and the inner tube not sealing well if the rim dents. My mate had to get his rim fixed first for it to work. I run Heavy Duty tubes on all my bikes and only go as low as 10 PSI. Only flat I have ever had was a screw.

    That is one beautiful WR, but with the air intake and exhaust mods you have done, arent you worried about not running some sort of fuel control like a power commander?

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому

      I have only done the flapper mod on the Airbox, so it's still technically the same sized inlet. The exhaust has the oxygen sensor still in it, so the bike can still richen or lean it self unlike others who just remove the sensor all together.

    uuu...this is nice bike.Did you say at the beginning of the video that the wr is more reliable than the 690??? ... either I misinterpreted or I heard wrong?
    I want to buy the wr450 but I'm afraid that it's not really for some long rides and that service intervals are very frequent. otherwise I drove yz which is like the same machine and there I changed the oil every 10 hours.

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  4 роки тому +1

      It's more reliable than a ktm 690 for sure! KTM 690 has a few issues you have to sort like rocket cam failing and a crap air box design. Maybe try a Honda 450l. Better service intervals.
