B1G B0SS Nope, this game is the GOG.com version of the soft. Wait a minute! in 11:27 when he escapes through the wine cellar... I remember that you HAD to go in to the cellar and take off that stopper of those two barrels. Otherwise it didn't work! Am I wrong?
That's weird you're the 2nd person telling me that. I never had this issue but maybe it was true in one version of the game ? To be honest all the versions seem pretty similar to me but who knows. In any case, I swear it's not a cheat, you can try by yourself x) Updated path goes by the cellar anyway.
@@NintendoHardGamer dude I think it was a thing that you COULD do but didn't have to. Now that I think of it the stopper didn't play very big role in that magnificent game. Cheers!
@@NintendoHardGamer Wow, I didn't know you don't have to take the bow, and instead just throw the arrow at the Indian portrait, also you don't need to unlock the cellar door?
Except if you found a large mistake/skip that is missing on my run, I don't think a sub 11:00 is possible =o But i'll be impressed if you find it. Keep me in touch about it if you don't mind ^^

So you don't have to go into the basement and move the barrels to escape at the end? (Prior to going underground) I've got a save game hanging right there because I got annoyed I couldn't backtrack. I'm playing on a 3do so it may be different... decent run man!
Oh ? First time I ever saw (and played) this game was on 3DO but at this time I 'm pretty sure I did not use such a patch so I can't answer to your question. It would be surprising to be forced to take the block earlier to not be stuck at the end of the game though. What happens when you go at the end of the tunnel ?
The part of ghost on the chair and the part of dancers in the salon are the most difficult. Any wrong they became in a lot of balls that kill you with a only tought.

Hi ! To be honest, I wanted to do a speedrun of AITD3 but when I started to route the game, I did not find anything interesting on it. No shortcut, no glitch, no insteresting trick to do... It was kind of annoying (as it's my favorite part in speedruns) so... I guess I passed up temporarily... It was like 2 years ago xD But it's very possible that I eventually do it. First I have to optimize this one, all is ready I just have to record it. These days I'm very busy with Super Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors but... I'll do it ! I swear I'll do it x)
I'm pretty sure it wasn't an intentional shortcut in the first place, rather a way to come back to the beginning of the whole platforming section if you fell into water. Funny how devs did not think the level-design in term of replayability at this time ^^
Ahah I'd like that too but I don't have enough money to go to such an event x) besides maybe not so much people would be interested by seeing this game.
Well, you'd be surprised at what obscure games they have at GDQ. It's about getting out there and getting your name out. I know a few GDQ runners that had their followers chip in to have it displayed. Make a stream post it one speedrun.com... just food for thought.

how did you do to make it look like that? i mean looks like hd... i have gog version too and looks like craaaaaaap edit. never mind... start -> menu -> gog.com -> alone in the dark -> graphics -> advanced -> choose whatever you like :)
+michalol222 222 Did you make a typo with the "isnt" ? Because I'm not sure to understand, you seem to say that AitD is not called first 3D game while Wolfenstein 3D is, wich is not really a contradiction ^^' Or maybe it's me who simply do not understand well. In any case Wolfenstein did not dispose of a "real" 3D. I'm not an expert in the subject so I can't explain the technical aspect correctly but it's called "raycasting". If I understood well, it calculates distance between sprites and the player, and it changes the size of sprites in consequences so it gives a feeling of dimensions. It gaves no choice but create cubical rooms. Besides, the player is not really moving, it's just the whole decor who's turning aroud him depending on his moves (if someones who know better than me read this please don't insult me, I'm doing my best here t_t). In another hand, Alone in the Dark was the first game with a real 3D modeling. If it's easy to make fun of what Carnby looks like today, it was nonetheless the first character (well I don't really know if they began with him or a monster x)), the first moving/controlable thing ever created in a complex 3D, not only cubes. At the end I guess choosing wich 3D was the real first one remains an opinion, because even if it was basic, Wolfenstein's 3D kinda still was 3D anyway. But in that case, saying that Wolfenstein 3D is the first-one is a common mistake as the same team did Catacomb 3D (with the same graphics engine) one year before ^^ I hope I did not say too much crap here, I kinda checked what I said on the internet before posting but you're never sure u_u
There were other games in true-3D that came out before AitD. LHX Attack Chopper, F29 Retaliator, and Stunts were released in 1990. Stunts allowed the player to construct their own race circuit in a 3D environment, and then drive on it. That said, I suspect AitD was the first 3D game to feature humanoid models.

The game initially can work on actual PCs with Dos-box, GOG team just creates some kind of launcher so you don't have to navigate on Dos-box, find right settings etc... I still have the 3DO version of the game though, it was just a lot easier to record it on a computer x)
J'adore !
As far as I know I was the last person who did it x) At the time I wanted to beat a time made by a UA-camr named PokaP. The route was actually pretty good, I only changed 1 or 2 things in mine !
Thanks for your comment :)
“I went into a haunted house I beat up the MONSTERS and my skeleton driver is picking me up for free!
YIPPEE!”
damn this game must of been hard as hell back in the day
It was...took months to 'solve' it.
Very impressive gaming! This game is such a gem. 😀
Except if you found a large mistake/skip that is missing on my run, I don't think a sub 11:00 is possible =o But i'll be impressed if you find it. Keep me in touch about it if you don't mind ^^
Stunning game, 28 YEARS ago
Hola.
He scarcely paid attention to the monsters and only focused on finding the way out.
Wow the game still look good. It could be a earlier version of RE 1 ^^ Greetings from Germany
Thank you from France =p Check out my channel, I made a new speedrun more than 2 minuts better. It's kind of glitchy though !
When you think that this game was made like 5 years before Resident Evil, the look is indeed pretty acceptable ^^
@@NintendoHardGamer 4 years actually 1996 and wasn't the only game came out inspired by alone in the dark ecstatica 1994 was the other game terror ... But the controls was so bad obviously couldn't be a classic like alone in the dark
Lol u beat the shit out of that pirate, it took me a while to beat him back in the day... gg man!
Brave Sir Robin ran away
Bravely ran away away
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled
Okay I didn't know there's another exit at 4:12.
You can see little big adventure in this
First 3D game I ever played.
I'd like to see AIDT3 speedrun! Sorry if you already have uploaded it, didn't see it then on your channel :)
It was like 2 years ago xD
But it's very possible that I eventually do it. First I have to optimize this one, all is ready I just have to record it. These days I'm very busy with Super Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors but... I'll do it ! I swear I'll do it x)
Why do you skip the cinematics???
How do you save the game? I can't figure out a way to do so.
Press echap, it'll open an window with all saving options :)
@@NintendoHardGamer Thank you so much :D
Whaaaaat. Had no clue about the shortcut through the water....
I'm pretty sure it wasn't an intentional shortcut in the first place, rather a way to come back to the beginning of the whole platforming section if you fell into water. Funny how devs did not think the level-design in term of replayability at this time ^^
Well it's time to study your route and then adapt it. Sub 11:00 hype :P
It is like a movie or a book not just like a game
I would love to see this run at GDQ
Ahah I'd like that too but I don't have enough money to go to such an event x) besides maybe not so much people would be interested by seeing this game.
Well, you'd be surprised at what obscure games they have at GDQ. It's about getting out there and getting your name out. I know a few GDQ runners that had their followers chip in to have it displayed. Make a stream post it one speedrun.com... just food for thought.
I think this video can be described percectly in the following way.
Eperienced player: *NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!*
ME: Did you even play the fucking game?! 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure to see your point here 👀
@@NintendoHardGamer okay think of it this way lets pretend i lef the room i had thisvplaying on onlynto come.back qnd dind it dome already and youbrunning from EVERYTHING and youre just noping your way theough the game in like 12 minutes 🤣🤣🤣thus i ask with comedic fashion if you even played the game, its a rhetorical joke of a question 😁
@@TheRealSephiroth Oh, now I get it ! Sorry about that ahah x)
@@NintendoHardGamer yeah the videos too damn short 🤣🤣🤣
Pas mal, j'avoue. Bon travail =)
This game used to scar the shit of me... haha
I hope it didn't scar you too much :P
1992?? Wow I bornt in this year
Superbe run!
how did you do to make it look like that? i mean looks like hd... i have gog version too and looks like craaaaaaap edit. never mind... start -> menu -> gog.com -> alone in the dark -> graphics -> advanced -> choose whatever you like :)
I'm pretty sure the size of the window is helping, because it is absolutely awful in full screen x)
NintendoHardGamer
indeed though lol haha
Why isnt this game called the first game in 3d? the wolfenstein 3d was sooner.
But in that case, saying that Wolfenstein 3D is the first-one is a common mistake as the same team did Catacomb 3D (with the same graphics engine) one year before ^^
I hope I did not say too much crap here, I kinda checked what I said on the internet before posting but you're never sure u_u
+NintendoHardGamer thanks
PS. "isnt" was my mistake, sorry i'm not english.
Game looks like fun...
it requires some time to get used on its clunky control and uncomfortable camera,
but after get used on it's really fun. even better than resident evil.
i played this on the 3do shit took forever to frickin load.
This is great! Are you the only person running this?! I may do a run myself :D
Good times
all of this only to get killed by the driver in the end
No, fortunately the game ended before the driver had the oportunity to kill Carnby... ;-)
genial !
perfect
great!
I remember beating this game in less than 9 minutes...
I'm no quite sure how you could possibly do that without any skip or any other speedrun technic but impressive if you really did that :) My PB is 6:21 anyway, this video is outdated.
What a creepy game :O
The lack of shadows and lighting ruin the mood. Plus the creatures look more silly than scary. It's impossible to take this seriously.
Be gentle, it was the first Survival-horror with those game-design codes that we all know now. It may look silly but even today I'm pretty sure you can play it and enjoy the game... Unless you spoiled yourself with a speedrun of course 8-)
imadtam... de hogy èn mennyit szívtam vele😂😂
Egy horror rajongó hölgy! Ez a királyság! :)
