indie game developers keep cooking 5 star restaurant level stuff while most AAA games consistently burning their kitchen to the ground
Uhm it's actually quadruple A.🤓🤓
More like AAA fire all their chefs and then wonders why they aren't selling food 🤣
@@alicatdotcom yeah mfs put together spoilt chicken breast, dirty raw potatoes and bruised tomatoes, drizzled with pink sauce
I mean if you count asset flip which this game is yeah sure
@@meatbeatmania big budget games have their own assets but gameplay sucks, what’s your point?
this is one of those games that *needs* to be multiplayer. most people would only want to play it under that scenario.

Im so sick of hyper photorealistic graphics with shallow game systems and features. This looks amazing.
Thanks for watching!
so, basically Unturned but with all community-made improvements, and a fresh coat of paint. *Shut up and take my money.*
@feenger2758 Pretty much. I haven't extensively played Unturned but from what I did play it felt a bit barebones and gimmicky at times.
This one is way better than that save for the few issues mentioned.
I've had a LOT of fun with this title - good to see you giving it a signal boost.
I try to sometimes cover lesser known games that aren't as mainstream as say Call of Duty, Halo, or *shudders* Fortnite.
More video reviews are planned on other games.
dude this game is one of my favorite zombie survivals of ALL TIME fucking love this game!
I'm a simple gamer and love seeing channels review these nuggets tucked away where I'd never find them without the platform UA-cam provides you & those in this content field.
For me if Survival Games had auto-sort/auto-stacking for "like items". If that makes sense, yeah?
Like if I found 2 Rifles (same) why not let me stack them up to say 5 in my bag. It's not an IRL survival mode where I could not genuinely lug a 150lb ruck without fatigue setting in.
I'm not a fan of "Inventory Manager 2.0" in Survival games.
Love this and it's on my wishlist.
Thanks for sharing!
@@GilgameshGDLK this type of game had been out for years. It's called State of Decay.
@@evaone4286 News to me! Thanks for another title to go chase down data on.
Collecting cars was one of the highlights of State of Decay
@@PetrusEksteen I just got state of decay 2 and I have to keep running back to my camp to drop off loot I find how do I get a bigger bag?
@@pizzagod4277 The inventory was my biggest problem as well, I think you are supposed to take another survivor with you as well a sa car. But yeah I wish backpacks were all bigger.
@@PetrusEksteen yeah I take the sniper girl with me but we get full fast
@@PetrusEksteen you play on steam?
@pizzagod4277 Yeah I do, perhaps there are some mods to alleviate this issue (I didn't check for mods when I last played)
One of the main things you do in a survival game is manage your inventory, so devs should pay attention to this as much as the gameplay itself, it always kills these games
@@MarcosVinicius-ge2ry agreed.
Most games are extremely unrealistic where shotguns are concerned. In real life, they tend to be accurate to around 50 yards (depending on shell type and barrel length).
@@randlebrowne2048 Rising Storm 2 is one game that got shotguns right.
Exactly what I was thinking shotguns can shoot a lot further than people think they can. So many people think shotguns are only effective if someone's right in front of you, and it's just not how it is.
Awesome to see that despite how much games uses Synty Assets people can still make games that others enjoy. Most reviewers would say "it's reusing the same 3d models that most games uses" 🙂
@bobsmith4223 I don't care about that I mean at the end of the day it's a game.
Still has more effort in it than half these AAA virtual stores.
I've been having a blast with this game for a month now, plus it gets frequently updated, totally recommended, it's a steal for the price
@ricardocavazos1316 thanks for watching
The only thing that bothers me with these low poly regurgitations, is they are all using the same asset packs that were sold earlier on Humble Bundle in the Unreal/Unity Engine Low Poly Asset series; with none of the assets changed or altered. Really makes these games feel super lazy.
Wow, a UA-cam review that’s to the point, on topic, and interesting? Subscribed. Please keep it up.
@joshs2655 Thanks for watching. I try to keep my reviews concise. It isn't the main thing I do on this channel but I am doing more lately.
I do them this way because I personally can't stand reviews that are 30 minutes long for 8 minutes worth of info.
this game is fantastic for a game made by one guy. have a ton of hours in it. done just about everything you can in the game. is it perfect? nope, but its better than 90% of the crap AAA is putting out there. you cant go wrong with the price either compared to how many hours you can sink into it before you hit the seen it/done it all wall.
dev puts out updates/content consistently, and is very active with the community. just a well made game by a guy who clearly cares about it.
hit the nail on the head with the part where you say its a game, not a simulator. clearly the dev has the common sense to ask himself, is this fun or not while hes making it. good vid. ez like and subscribe.
Bad inventory system is the killer of many games.
They're using Synty assets which are some of the best polygon gone style assets you can get on the market 👏
@@MarkRobbz sadly Synty assets make it look like an asset flip on first view.
Looks like I'll be getting this one.
@@graydeath9755 I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
*@BrokenCircle Thank You for this. I love these kind of zombie survival games, and I may have missed this if not for you!*
i start playing in the end of 2022 and the evolution of the game is amazing! the dev keep pushing new content, new weapons, more POI's, etc. for a 11€ game is an absolute gem! and you dont need to hold mouse to do a melee attack, you can disable that on the menu.
@vimaranis4865 Oh that's news to me.
There's a lot of the mechanics in this game that makes me think of *"Plains of Pain"* - 3rd person survival, but procedurally spawned POIs and mobs. Also early days but it's got potential ;)
I picked this up last year and was really impressed with how fun it was.. not without issues but I expect after some updates it will be even better.
I been had this on my wishlist since it was released. Good video 👌
Thanks for watching. Nice cat profile pic :)
The bunny at 5:55 😂
You can see heavy tarkov inspiration especially with the inventory management system. Which personally I like a lot. But based on this I doubt they'll be changing the stack backpack option. I don't recall if you said there was a carry limit tho. Which, if there isn't then that's pretty odd and a lil broken lol
Thanks for the heads up on this. Will subscribe for your effort. Bought it. This video was in my 'RECOMMENDEDS'.
@@Lbow86 thanks for watching
This was a very well put together review. Thanks for bringing this game to my attention.
Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Thanks for recommendation!
@@maciejkamil thanks for watching!
This and Deadpoly look identical down to the models and gameplay. Why are there so many games using these assets?
It's an asset pack
I got this game, but could only run around a park. I might have gotten it super early when ot first dropped. Im gonna re-download it and check it out tonight. You are showing WAY more than what I saw.
I like not having a weight system lol. I thoufht this had one? Hmm, yeah, i need to play this again. I didnt go far enough into it.
This would make an awesome multiplayer, can you imagine a DayZ experience, item management looks the same, if this was multiplayer? Please for the love of dog, make this multiplayer
This game basically like DayZ but cartoon... game looks cool
oh man I have NO IDEA how you got in my suggested, but this game is fantastic! I've been playing it since last year, and the Dev is really putting a lot of effort on it, updating, fixing and adding things. This is very very good, is a quite "boring" playing alone after a while, but the run is freaking amazing!
We got DayZ cartoon before GTA 6 💀
I have a love/hate relationship with the inventory system. I'll stack bags inside of bags inside of bags inside of bags... and then When I need something, I forget where it's at and it's buried like 5 levels deep in my inventory.
Accurate.
I love SurrounDead and played loads of it, got all the cars and weapons. If you like SurrounDead then you might also like Zombie Survival Game Online, it uses the same assets pack so it will look familiar.
Very good video man, keep it up!
@@ReachGaming Thanks for watching!
The game look's great!
Just waiting for the multiplayer update to drop.
Then I'll buy it for sure!
WOW it has something state of decay needed, RAIN! It looks amazing too for the visuals...
@@danielvolosin6614 something I also should have mentioned that I don't think I did is when it snows the entire game world is affected.
I want to make my own FPS game like this.
I might pick this up, only thing stopping me is I have a list of about 10 games I would love to play that fall under the "dead" category in terms of playerbase. I use dead lightly, because this obviously has people coming back, but 200 player concurrent isn't going to convince any of my friends to pick this up.
If it can grow it's playerbase in the future I'll definitely pick it up as it's cheap.
This game doesn't have multiplayer yet. As for dead games I wouldn't recommend spending the money on them, I like to play my games 20+ years after release but that's just me.
@@BrokenCircle1 ahh my bad I was under the impression it had multiplayer. That’s a shame!
Nice review mate 😁👍
Thought I'd suggest you check out the alpha version of this game, where there were more features, but as it turns out it's a different game. This game is visually and mechanically similar to “Deadpoly” Absolutely similar graphics, inventory systems, even the same vehicles.
Hoping there's some sort of construction mechanic to create a base either from an old building or from scratch
@lee-cl8td There's some building. You can make little walls, doors, etc to make your own structure. I usually just live in the existing buildings.
No not that the real MW2 😂👏
Procedural generation, done properly, does look good!
So glad to see this game getting the attention it deserves. It is one of my favorites
@MicrOPeen. Yeah I try to showcase different games sometimes so people can play them. Sometimes I think that people dont know stuff like this exists. Thanks for watching.
The Artstyle of that game reminds me very strong to "Rise of Guns", where you build weapons in a Zombie Hideout Community.
The Style of Zombies, Guns etc looks VERY similar, maybe same Developer?
These assets are widely used by other games as it is a Unity Asset Pack, as mentioned by a previous comment
@@evanboeckler9610 check
Controller support?
Can this game be played with friends?
I just bought it recently and I think its a great balance between survival games and action shooters, I cannot recommend it enough.
The stars need to align for a good zombie game that’s not low poly or top down to come out.
Controller support? I have this wish listed for my ROG Ally, but holding out for controller support.
Is it hard to control your character with Mouse and keyboard?
currently semi controller support
@@pizzagod4277 kind of defeats the point on ROG ally
I am strangely reminded 7 days to die which a brutal survival game with crafting that can sometimes get on my nerves, I can understand some components are meant to be purchased obtained from lower end weapons.
Even if the skill system is meh though it makes a lot of tools useful, still no scrap tier of tools.
Though one type of storage I don't often see in some games is the type that is, "Its simple to build, even cheap, the storage is deep, however it will only accept very specific materials" type of storage which I always thought it was something Ark could benefit from.
@Tucher97 I hate 7 days lol. I appreciate some of what it does but overall I find it far too grindy, repetitive, and just eh.
It wasn't for me.
The only thing that leaves me curious is if their goal is to create their own assets or continue utilizing POLYGON's Low Poly Apocalypse set.
@@TheMeasurements I have no idea. I'm not bothered either ways.
I think Deadpoly is doing that slowly but i dont see that happening for this one plus it doesnt matter
@@nooffense3417 nah, it doesn't matter. I'm just asking because some people associate store bought assets with scam games.
@@TheMeasurements has nuthing to do with scam... if they bought the assets why not use them.... the scam is your fault... quit pre ordering shit
@@jacobhoffman2553 I never claimed it's a scam. Do better.

Why it not online like days ;(
Its good
As a dayz player i will say its like

ugh that motion blur
game looks like slightly less blocky unturned tbh
Just play Survive The Nights idk why everyone hates on it it's much better now
Have you reviewed Battlebit Remastered?
@@scythegaming99 A long time ago when it came out.
Liked it at first but had issues with its moderation policy and EULA. Have since developed a more negative view on it overall.
Regret buying. Would not reccomend.
i’ve played too many horrible games using these assets, i cant do it again
was looking to see if you had any review videos on DeadPoly. Any thoughts on that game compared to this? Currently looking into purchasing it as well, but Surroundead has been amazing for me so far.
I haven't played Deadpoly. I was looking into that one before I bought this but I heard that this one had more focus on things to do singleplayer as well as vehicles and that made it an easy choice for me. I dislike grindy repetitive games.
This one definitely got repetitive in some ways after a while but it took quite a while so I think I made the right call getting this one.
Like I said in the video for 6 bucks you can't go wrong.
@@BrokenCircle1 Yeah I was really contemplating between the two at the time of purchase and ended up going with Surroundead. They're two different styles of games with one more focused on one thing than the other. Anyways, thanks for your time and video review! Hope to see more in the future!
Wicked, I got Fargone for 3 quid so was ok but still buggy.
Might give this ago untill Red recovers and gets back on it.
@@Nommicus That's a good sale.
@@BrokenCircle1 ye I just got this one for 4.99 so also great for the cash.
Cheers for the heads up mate, plus subbed cos Info clear and vid style good. 😊👍
the thing about these low poly package games is that they can spend more time working on systems than art direction or detail, which is nice but i find these games really gross to play most the time lel
@TSK_Silver Fair enough. Yeah some of them are hideous (Ravenfield and Fargone for example) but I actually liked this ones aesthetics.
Cool thanks!
This looks like a version of state of decay
It reminds me of Unturned.
@TechnoTron_ it's 1000x better than Unturned.
Unturned always seemed to me like a cool concept but mediocre execution. This game in my opinion is what Unturned could have been.
@@BrokenCircle1 Ya I saw.
Been playing this for quite a while and can say that the dev is a godsend. He tends to add stuff that a good portion of the community wants instead of ignoring the community and adding what HE wants, I have an embarrassing amount of hours I’ve put into it
It looks like there’s really not that much to do
@@CreedM8 It’s a survival game, the main point is to survive. There’s bandit camps you can raid, there’s infestation zones that have tons of good loot but you need a gas mask and a lot of ammo to go to them, you can make your base out of LITERALLY any building (Walls and such that you place have a bit of an area around them that prevent zombies from spawning inside). Also the dev is constantly adding more stuff
We so desperately need a survival game with a big budget that looks like 2024😢
Go indie people. Game like these will save the industry.
If it had destruction it would be boss
Why do the guns shoot "lasers"? Can you turn that off? Looks awful
Awesome game fully agree def worth a try
Thanks for watching!
Is there zombie hordes or just one or two zombies?? Oh one or two zombies. I’m good.
@MyGamesterGaming If you shoot too much one or two can very quickly.become a horde
Great vid thanks👍
Never played Deadpoly but I was considering it before I bought this. All other reviews I saw suggest Surroundead. From what I've seen I'd say the same.
@@BrokenCircle1 yea i just deleted the question as i found our Surroundead is only single player no co-op or multiplayer which is a shame really.

i love surroundead, but it needs a better gun/shooting system, i like to play first person, so i would like they did something like fargone.
The second thing im waiting its coop/multiplayer
it has FP just clearly not polished lol im not sure if hes using a single full body mesh or 2 separate ones for the cameras

@HS_Rick I think I've heard of that one...isn't it like a futuristic FPS type of thing?

Thanks for this video! The game looks really cool i just don't get why the bullet based guns look like laser guns?! Instant turn off for me

All those Synty assets unchanged 🤣
Supporting an asset flip, classic.
@stimpak. I don't understand.
If the game is fun, I don't see the problem using pre-made assets.
@@karstux So you guys don't really care if developers use asset store assets, as long as the game-play is fun? That was never the sentiment just a few years ago. What happened? I never feel comfortable using asset store assets for my game releases, and it was mainly due to the public outcry of said assets.
The proof is in the pudding. If its fun and you get value out of it, very few will care if you bought your assets from a store or meticulously handcrafted them in Houdini using the most complicated node-based workflow in existence.
This game and project zomboid are king haha.
I like this game, but man last time I played. Wolves spawned in form NO WHERE and killed me. Plus there are SO MANY trees now you can't see Anything.. And the damn Storms.. every five minutes.. I stopped playing it for a while. ..
looks like unturned but different graphics
@meh.2689 it's alot better than Unturned imo

Gaming in 2024
indie : Low poly, open world, crafting survival with the most basic UE5 templates seen a trillion times before
AAA : Abysmal DEI infested crap
Does it have first person perspective (fpp)
Multi ?
Asset store the survival game lmao
take a look at Vein if you haven't already.
Bases? Building?
You know it completely escaped me to mention that. Yes there is basic base building with little wall, platform, window parts. I didn't really use it because I didn't find it necessary I mostly just built spike walls and inhabited some of the abandoned POIs which are really cool.
Sorry I really should have talked about that.
@@BrokenCircle1 no worries thanks for the feedback
Cmon man I thought ravenfield looked alright
So 3rd person Zomboid 🤔
I wouldn’t have an issue with this, but dead poly. Is literally the same game. Like so much the same that if they’re not made by the same studio then someone might have a legal battle on their hands
Im not usually a graphics lemming, but man... these games that ALL have the exact same 'low poly' texture pack immediately screams asset flip/low effort and makes my brain's first reaction to dismiss as a cheap/lazy cash grab, people eat first with their eyes...
I don't see it that way.
The game is fun, has quite a bit of content, and is inexpensive.
Compare that to most modern AAA releases that cost $70 for just the base game, have microtransactions that cost more than this entire game twice over, and barely function...not sure why people hate these types of games.
