This was a fantastic visit with you. I have sewn many strips of Christmas scraps together, just wasn't sure what I wanted to make. Now I know. Thanks so much.
The quilt is beautiful! I would love to make one for this Christmas but my husband has to have shoulder replacement surgery on Dec 2 and know I won’t have time to finish it. It may have to be a project for another time! I’m thinking maybe even a red, white and blue patriotic quilt?! 🤔 I love the way you design on the fly! I think those type of quilts are the most amazing finishes!!!🥰
Yes, you did. I was horrified when he told me he ushered you into my unkempt house! I spend to much time quilting and not enough cleaning, lol! Interesting about Mitsubishi. Thanks for watching.
@@sisterchicksquilting: We don't see an unkempt house. We see a person that is worrying about living life and not dusting. Life is too short. Love from Dianne ❤❤❤
Aloha from Hawaii!!🌈🌈🌈‼️. You know, the quilters with the messiest sewing table are the most productive!!!! How boring to always have a clean space!!! Your star quilt is fabulous!! Your 3 amigas sewing retreat sounds like fun. I am green with envy, but Hawaii is just too far away!! 😖😖‼️ (minimum of 9 hours in the air plus layover and airport time makes getting there almost a 24 hour experience!!!). But I will be thinking of you guys and looking forward to the video!!!😀😀😀🌈‼️
I pieced a quilt almost exactly like that, my stripes went horizontal not vertical. (Based on a a pattern Katies string star in Fons and Porter magazine from May 2004)
Your scrappy quilts inspire me. That is why I wanted to make this one. If I'd had more time I would have done the back ground in low volume triangles. I just looked up star quilts made that way, WOW! Thanks for watching.
I made that extra wide quilt ladder! Here is the video where I teach you how to do it. ua-cam.com/video/DIOMmq4VOfc/v-deo.htmlsi=XHz7fJhfCpJ3FUDf Enjoy the video and thanks for watching my channel Julia!
Your quilt is amazing. I’m excited to see the finished quilt. It’s beautiful. I have a bunch of fabric from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. It feels stiff. Do you think it’s still good fabric
Yes, it just has sizing in it. A lot of this was the same. After I quilt and bind it I’ll wash it and it will soften right up. Thanks for the quilt love Vicki 😍 & for watching. 😊♥️🐥
What if you stagger the top row where the side points go almost into the next one but not touching and do the same in the next row like you showed ? Absolutely gorgeous btw
There are so many ways to do this. I went with this way because I didn't want the quilt to get away from me. They wanted a snuggle quilt. Thanks for you input Deb and thanks for watching!!!
Well that just stinks! I heard form another quilting buddy that spray starch is hard to come by these days and she makes her own now. Thanks for watching!
My fabrics always have babies. The problem is, I can’t tell the difference between male and female fabrics. I’m telling you, fabric births babies. Go figure!!!
What a wonderful idea to use scraps
I soooo enjoy your ,lessons, thankyou Australia
That turned out amazing! Thank you for sharing all you tips and tricks with the backing. Have a wonderful weekend and week!

I would applique the blocks onto a background square. Easy as pie.
That could be done Amy. I didn't even think of that method. We all learn so much from the comments! Thanks for watching.

Very much like a Stack N Whack done by Bethany Reynolds. Nice Christmas snuggle quilt

I understand Princess, that's a lot of travel. We'll just have to be pen-pals for now, which is fun :) Thanks for watching my channel!
Your first line about your "mess" made me laugh outside!! That's what my cutting table always look like.😁😆😁
I was that way for several days,. I went back and forth from euphoria to closing the door and walking away. Thanks for watching Linda :) !!!
thx
You're so welcome Jeane :) !!
I loved this project. Watching you work through this was amazing. I learned so much. 😊
Awesome! Thank you Teresa! it was a fun learning experience for me! TFW!!!
Lay your backing down place stars on it trace the outline you need allow seam allowance and cut to fit
Measuring like that didn't really work for exactness. I'm sure it was me! Thanks for watching Toni
So cool
Well, thank you Terri :)
I am sew doing this love it thanks.
You sew should do this Stephanie :) It was very much fun putting it together. Thanks for watching!!!
Nice use of strips. . Great design. Not so excited about the mess…😙
Thanks, working scrappy seems to always make a mess but that one was especially bad!
You can make a table runner!

Thanks for the quilt love Vicki 😍 & for watching. 😊♥️🐥
You could have made the stars into squares and then sashed them❤😊 beautiful quilt 😊
I thought of making blocks from them, weighed both ways and thought strips would be easier 😂😳 Doh!
Thanks for watching 😊♥️🐥

Yeah, First!!
🤣😂🤣 we just ate the turkey you raised & gave us. Not bad🦃yum…
How many triangles pieces do you need for each star? I have never been ona retreat before, i am going to see if I can go to this retreat
Brain in action! Lol!
Sometimes the ol' brain just kicks in like that, lol. Thanks for watching!!
Is there a project or theme for retreat ?
You will have 100 people at the quilt retreat?
Quilt math, well I give up now, unless I have unlimited fabric, sigh!😵💫
Projects like this make my brain hurt. Great project though
Sorry for the brain pain 🤪 Actually this was so fun to see and it came out so square, I loved it 😍 TFW😊♥️🐥
Our dollar store no longer carries spray starch.😢
Well that just stinks! I heard form another quilting buddy that spray starch is hard to come by these days and she makes her own now. Thanks for watching!
My fabrics always have babies. The problem is, I can’t tell the difference between male and female fabrics. I’m telling you, fabric births babies. Go figure!!!
HA, ha, ha, LOL!! I've never heard that before. Mabey I should only have one sex of fabric?
Thanks for the laugh Vikki and for watching my channel.
@@sisterchicksquilting yes, well good luck trying to figure out which fabric is male and which is female. You can’t. So keep scrappy going!!!
