When I moved into my grandmothers 1952 brick cape cod I painted the small livingroom in a beautiful historic green. It was very "academia " but I was into the "primitive" back then. It became too dark and very oppressive to me. So I painted it the same color as the 32 ft addition we added to the back of the original structure which is "church white". It opened up the entire room by flooding it with light! I love your decorating and design advice. I especially love that you include your love for our Lord. ❤❤❤❤
Wow! Such beautiful ideas. I love your Edwardian/Victorian era of decorating idea... and the most beautiful mix of colour choice with the satin and velvet ribbon. Really enjoyed this beautiful video. Worth watching again I do think.
Many years ago I watched Lynette Jennings on Discovery. She had several of the frameless frames and she put a grouping on the wall with vintage handkerchiefs in them. They were beautiful! I have a box of my mamas and I wish I had a bunch of the frames to hang them.
Oh I have been trying to remember the name of that decorator for a while now! She did some nice work, but one time she made a centerpiece for a table with potatoes and daisies… quite an adventurous attempt 🤪
I remember the good ole days where there were small round "wreaths" of jingle bells around all the doorknobs. The bottom of the "wreaths" had a red ribbon knotted and left dangling. Funny how Christmas things bring back so many memories. We had that Firestone album and played it every year when decorating the tree! More memories.
It looks beautiful! I love how calm your voice is… stress free decorating. The Christmas LP is a nice piece of nostalgia. I have my parents’ collection and always listen to the Nutcracker Suite at Christmastime and super loud!🎶 ‘Tis the season ❤
My favorite idea from you was the mercury glass bulb garland on the staircase, something different...I'm trying a garland of 🌟 stars on dark green ribbon this year on my staircase ..Happy Christmas to you and yours 🌲🌲
Wow I guess people’s brains work in different ways ! I design everything, flowerbeds , decor by doing . It never works on paper . I wish it would because I will move a plant one foot if needed 😂. All I have is cedar but I love pine because they are my childhood memories of the mountains I grew up in . I love your ideas ❤.
Our front door is currently “Gale Force” by Sherwin Williams; previously it was Artissimo Milk Paint by Miss Mustard Seed - which is probably the color you saw in this video since the clips are older!
We live in a pretty mild climate, all things considering - so items on our porch are well protected unless we get an occasional sideways rain! We pull things inside or into our shop when needed, but they're okay for most of the year!
I just donated 30 of those green Dicken's plates to Goodwill. I never used them, and didn't see the point of hanging onto them - storing them in my basement. Maybe someone will get better use out of them.
Are you using "The Message" paraphrase? I also love the lighter, cream colored walls. I love blue, but it seemed dark to me. The "cedar" you used may actually be cypress. Of course, I may be wrong, but I have a Leyland cypress that look exactly the same. Cedar is usually prickly. 😉
Looking at your windows today, i am wondering what colour is your trim? Also are the window separators in the window the same colour of your trim? Thanks so much and I am so glad to watch you today and hear scripture too. ❤
The color is Sherwin William “Slate Tile”! And yes, everything is the same color, I did a DIY to temporarily change the color of the "mullions". You can watch all about it here: ua-cam.com/video/Mp5xMgPyI7I/v-deo.html
It's OK if you don't have time for the whole thing now. It's long on purpose so it can be played in the background while you decorate - if you like that kind of thing!
Hi Sarah so loved your Christmas movie. Gave me lots of inspiration for my motorhome as I no longer have a house to decorate. I have been watching you for the last couple of years and love your talents, your thrifting and all your ideas. Anyway confused as I look at your room but thought you repainted it cream but it shows blue. Did you film this before you repainted. Please correct me if I am wrong. Sarah I wish you and your beautiful family a Merry Christmas from Suffolk England 🎄⭐️🎀🎁🧸🪆
Your porch at Christmas is always my favorite. A little wild, free, dark and natural! Nothing commercial about it. Love the pinecones thrown too!💝💝💝
Thanks so much!

That sounds beautiful, Cheryl! I hope you find some frames at a great price someday!

So fun to see all the Christmases past. I still love the ballerina garland. ❤
Me too!!
I think the center of a poinsettia is actually the bloom. The red is leaves.

I'm glad you like it! Best of luck with your decluttering!
@@SheHoldsDearly that is a pain honestly, we don t even realize how much we collect….
My parents had that Firestone record. They got it in the '60s. Firestone stores had an annual Christmas album each year. I don't think it was free.
Yes, so many have commented similar - they feel very nostalgic about it!
How do you protect your bench on the front porch from getting destroyed from rain and snow?

Oh my what memories! I had the Firestone album!!

I bet someone will find them and be very excited!
