Oh my god it took me years to figure out that it’s KP on my face, not just on my body. Thought I was acne prone... this is lowkey life changing thank you
❤️❤️
Thank you so much for doing this! every year i search kp on face to see if anyone made a video for it on the face, but as you said, people only talk about it on arms and legs!! But now you made one thank god🙏
You're welcome!! I know the struggle Im so happy you found this helpful! If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask💕
Omg I dealt with the same issue
Same here

Your skin looks really flawless! You have very fine-textured skin.
Love that you are honest person thank you for these videos
Thank you so much!!!😊
Thank you so much! I’ve constantly been looking for videos to help my skin become softer for years and finally I have something to try! I’m 19 and this condition has really put a damper on my self esteem and this is so so helpful!💜
Hey Hannah! I hope this works for you too. Let me know if you have any questions 💕
Thank you very much. I found this very helpful. I didn’t know what was wrong with my skin, but I knew it wasn’t acne. You are very beautiful.
Im super happy this video was helpful!! 🥰
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve started having kp for around 2-3 years now. I had wonderful skin before that I took for granted 😰 it really took a toll on my confidence. I had a microdermabrasion today and I’ve seen a huge difference. I’m excited to continue with the products you’ve mentioned. Thank you so much!!!!
That's amazing!! I'm happy it's working for you 😊
Keep doing what you're doing. Its working. 🤗
Thank you!! This régimen makes me sooo happy. I finally can look at my skin and just smile.😊
This is one of the most important videos I've ever seen for the "KP". It is an essential video for everyone who's trying to get rid of KP. Thank you so much for your help, you're awesome!🥰🥰💖
I'm so happy it was helpful. I know the struggle and ws hoping I could help others😊
Finally!! I’ve found someone to talk about it on their face! Mines so bad on my face. No one mentions products for the face. THANK YOU.
You're welcome 😊 I totally understand the struggle. This is what has helped me so far💕
Thank you so much for sharing this ♥️ So glad you have found products that work for you. I just started going down your skin care playlist and I wished I watched it sooner!
For the sunscreen you mentioned, I noticed it was clear. Is it greasy?
And also, weird question: would you be able to use some of these products on your arms? Or do you have something specific that you use? I ask because sometimes I use my face cleanser on the back of my arms and that has helped.
Thank you!! This was so helpful!
🥰 You're welcome!!!!
Thanks for the TMI!!!! It was massively helpful. My skin was purging little white sticky strings and I couldn’t find any info on what was going on. I suspected today that the immovable bumps on my face were KP cause I manage it pretty well on the rest of my body, you confirmed it. I’ll stop trying to do extractions because 1) they kept returning in a few days and 2) what you’re saying makes absolute sense!!! Thank you so much!
I am really glad my video was helpful. Trust me I know the struggle of KP it can be soo overwhelming at times.
Thank you so much for this video 💕
❤️❤️
Great informative video .. I think your skin is beautiful in natural light too xxx💕
Thank you! Its been a bitnof a journey but I finally found something that works for me🥰
@@AnaReczynski that’s good so happy for you, it’s lovely when we do find things that work for us ..xx❤️
Thank you, you’ve completely transformed your skin. Looking forward to try this out. I also have suffered from Keratosis since I was 7. Could you also share the treatment for Keratosis on the arm ?? another video idea :)?
Yes definitely!! I have to try a few things...I picked up a moisturizer that's supposed to help with the body
I'm so happy someone FINALLY made a video on this. Thanks for having the courage to put your skin on display. My kp isn't red because my skintone is a bit darker than yours. Instead my bumps looks like a dark patch, it's on my chin which sucks because it looks shadow. And recently I discovered it's on my butt too now. I'm going to try a few things you recommended and update.
You're so welcome!!! I'm super happy this video was helpful. I know how frustrating this can me. My son is starting to get it now and hes a littler than me. You're right it almost shows up like a scar. Let me know how that works out for you 😊
@@AnaReczynski i came back to say that what you suggested has helped me immensely. Even with me being inconsistent with the routine my skin tone has become more even and my chin is looking softer. Thanks 😊

your video helped me so much I've been searching for like forever about my face and the acne my face have but I've never find any solution antil now Thank u so much for giving me hope that my problem can improved🥰
You're welcome!! I hope that some of these will be helpful 🥰
I’ve had KP most of my life. I also have all these products :) was nervous to try the aha bha. I’m going to start slow with the glycolic. Ty for this video
You got this! Keep me posted!
Hi, Ana. I am writing from Turkey. Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences. I hope this look on my skin will pass. Btw your skin is beautiful.
Kurtuldunuzmu acaba bana da yardım edin lütfen
Thank you for the information! I’ve been researching keratosis pilaris and looking for photos of the face. I needed to see what it looked like to know if I had it. Another example is that when you run your hand across that area of skin it likely feels like sandpaper. Additional recommendations were to change to a keto diet, which eliminates sugar, flours and vegetable oils. There can be some underlying metabolic condition that causes it such as hyper insulin levels.
You're welcome! Wow I didn't realize keto was helpful for it!
Good video & thank you as there isn’t really anything about KP. I used drunk elephant facial once a week, but since the onset of cold air & the heater running, the DE irritated my KP, so I stopped & also vitamin c serum. I use the aveeno calm & restore line, matrixyl 3000, oil of Olay regenerist, & trentinoin. Of course sunscreen. (not in that order🙃) What helped was a humidifier in my room at night. Just the other day it flared after a run in the cold. Out a frustration, I broke a stem off my aloe plant & it calmed it down, so good to know going forward. Thanks again⭐️
you're welcome!! I have searched and searched before for help with my KP and then decided to give it a go and experiment lol. Im glad this video was helpful
This information is extremely helpful, as I really wasn’t sure where to start with products for KP on the face (outside of the typically recommended urea & lactic acid which are often formulated strength-wise for the body only). I never had any real problems with acne throughout my life until about 3 years ago when I started getting deep cystic bumps (most likely due to the hormonal aspects of menopause). Adapalene (Differin gel) seemed to get that under control after 3 months of use, & I have seen some benefit to my face texture since I started using it (around two years now). However, the KP bumps still could use a lot of help. Thank you for sharing your experience with these products & how this regimen has helped you tremendously! 😊👍💕
I am really glad my video was helpful! KP can be such a struggle
I'm a mom and am dealing with my teenager having KP on her cheeks and just bought all your recommendations. Praying this works since she already has insecurities 🙏💗
awww. i hope that it helps! PLease remember to have her use spf everyday. keep me posted
Did it help?

I have same issues and can relate to all of it 😢😢😢. I am still looking for the best products. I am also loving the ordinary toning solution and The AHA /BHA… if I sleep late and less then it get worse …. Good thing that I found a video that talks about KP problem on face…
I'm so glad my video was helpful! I hear ya. I found that chemical exfoliants are the best for this. 🥰
Wow! I’m so glad I came across your video. I’ve had those bumps on my arms years ago. But lately it’s been on my face & neck. I’ve never attributed it to all the collagen and keratin supplements I was taking (for my hair and skin). I’m thankful for your information!
Can you tell me what order you use the products ?
Thank you!!
youre so welcome!!
I really just have to say thank you. I have KP on my face and haven't been able to find anyone with anything similar or anything to help. This is so helpful. My KP unfortunately is everywhere on my face, so it's a bit more severe, but seeing you deal with this has given me the confidence to keep trying to find something. I bought all the products you use
Hey!! You're welcome!! I know the struggle 💕 keep me posted and let me know if this helps. If you ever have questions don't hesitate to ask💕
SAME, I've searched before and never found one person make video on the face. And today I tried again and bam she popped up. A glimmer of hope for me🙂
I also have KP very badly on my face, and i usually only see people with it on their arms. I also have been told that there is almost no way to cure it, so thank you for sharing!
@@rachelmcgough6047 you're welcome 💕💕 let me know if it helps 😊
Good luck, sister! 💞👍
I have this on my whole body but the face is the hardest to deal with. A lot of creams make my skin greasy and cause other acne so I stick with cerave or cetaphil. I have found a lot of pineapple enzyme or papaya enzyme masks help a lot or pumpkin too. Pineapple products are available from Alba they have a face wash and scrub which both work very well, however I make a pineapple purée face mask myself and that works best then do that twice a week. Then I use ceramide face washes or Spectro gel. After I get a moisturizing gel or serum lately I’ve been using SNP prep peptaronic serum then I use cerave face lotion or cream depending on the time of year. I don’t know anyone else with the condition to the extent I have it.I got a double genetic pass down on both sides and my doctor when I was a child just told my mom I would have skin issues for life. As I age it’s getting worse but I can control it to a certain degree with different products aka research lol
Wow thank you so much for all of this information!!! I am going to look into the Pineapple enzymes and the others you mentioned. I have this in my arms and back and my face. It's such a pain
Finally I find someone else with it, I’ve had rosy red cheeks that are bumpy but could never find a way to resolve the redness
Exfoliation and moisturizing helps a lot!
I have it too! For 35 years now 😅
I use too not have it that bad until I had my third child I got it all on my face bad and on my arms I don’t even feel the need to wear make up cause looks all bumpy. Hopefully your tips help with keratosis pilaris I hate having it😩
I needed this so much, thank you. I have it everywhere like you mentioned but I’ve helped those some. But yes.. no one talks about how to treat it on your face! This helped so much and most I already had just haven’t made a point of using often. Will definitely try this now🤍🤍
You're so welcome! I know how this can be so frustrating! I couldnt believe that there werent any videos on this either
Thank you so much for making this video!! I have kp all over but I’m so insecure about it on my face. It’s so hard to find videos addressing this. I just bought all these products for under $40. I hope this helps me! Question- on the day that you use retinol, what order do you use your products in?
Hey! For the days I use retinol at night...I only wash my face, pat dry, apply the retinol and cerave. I skip the toner and other serums. Those nights I keep super simple. 😊
@@AnaReczynski ty!!
I have always been insecure about my KP on my cheeks and arms. Good to know I am not alone
Same! It happens to the best of us!
Thanks
Thanks for this. My 7 year old has had this on her face since she was a baby… she doesn’t seem to care but I’m looking for ways to help her get it under control before it does bother her.
You're so welcome! I totally understand, I've had this all my life and was teased for it. I think its great your being proactive. Double check with your pediatrician since she's still young. Lactic acid is super helpful 🥰
dear ana , add subtitles to expand your knowledge as well as awareness of disease
Will do❤
You are soooo me😍😆
Will you tell us how to use it, Do I have to use all these products daily?
I've been dealing with KP on my face since I was a child and as soon as I watched your video I brought the products that you recommended. Can't wait to try them! I wanted to ask you, what do you do in the morning? Just wash your face and apply moisturizer/sunscreen? Thank you so much! :)
Hey! Sure. So in the morning I wet a face towel with warm water and gently rub my face. After I'll put on Niacinaminde or hyaluronic acid serum then I use plant Devried Squalane oil (all from the Ordinary) a moisturizer then spf 😊. I like physical suncreen...it doesn't irritate my skin. I love supergoops glow stick 💕
@@AnaReczynski thank you so much for replying! I'll definitely get my hands on those too then 😊💕
Hi, my Daughter is 14 yeas old and has what I think is KP all over her face. My question is, are these products okay to use on such young skin?
I had her to a dermatologist when she was 5/6 and they told me there was nothing I could do.
If you have keratosis pilaris and you are a skinpicker - omg it is soo tempting....
lol try also having seb derm with flaky skin. i try my best to not pick
thanks so much for the video💕 how often do u put on the lactic acid one? has ur skin gotten any smoother at all?
Hey you're so welcome! I'm so happy you found it helpful. So the lactic acid is amazing! I saw a quick improvement in texture. I use it 5 nights a week...the nights I dont use it is when I do my retinol....if you're not using retinol you can do 5 days. 😊
@@AnaReczynski ok thank youu☺️
Thank you for the video, what is your mousturizer please, is it the oil please that you use as moisturiser?
Hey! For moisturizer I use the ordinary squalane oil and Jones Road Miracle Cream 😊
Thank you for this information!!! Has your KP improved with age? Or is it the same as before?
Hey, it got a little better with age but thenbest was after starting this skin care routine and being consistent 😊
Hey Ana if its not a bother to you, could you tell me how you apply these products, the order in which you do it, how many times a week etc etc. (Step by step process)
I'm a total beginner to this routine so I'd like to start of knowing the steps in perfect detail , you could even make a video about it!
Love your videos btw, feels so happy to know that someone took the chance and had a successful routine, and is willing to share it. Thank you so much 😁
Hey! I'll make an updated video and talk you through the process 😊
So I have this on my arms and face. Ive been using the Smoothing cream by cerave, and the cleanser of the same brand. With lactid acid and another stuff. On my face I can totally tell the difference. But not it terms of redness
Wow!! Thats amazing! Dealing with texture has always been a nightmare for me. I think it bothers me more than the redness
I loved this video in 15 and it’s in my cheeks and it sucks but this helped
😊💕
I just learned a month ago about KP, I've had it on my arms for about a year and a half and I thought it was because of my overweight until my dermatologist explained this to me, but now a few days ago I noticed this small red bumps all over my face, specially in my cheeks, I thought maybe it was an allergic reaction since I'm very sensitive, but it hasn't gone away ☹️ now that I see your video I'm pretty sure is also KP on my face 😔 I hope I can get rid of it cause it looks so bad.
Hey! I have it on me almost all of my life. What I mention in the video has been extremely helpful for me. I highly recommend the glycolic toner, Lactic Acid and aha bha peel. Those 3 are amazing! I haven't been able to completely get rid of it but have been able reduce a lot of redness and some texture💕💕💕
Thank you for sharing! I have been searching for a routine specifically for KP on the face. I have tried the Glycolic acid and lactic acids before but my skin got very dried out (maybe I didn't moisturize enough). You use both daily? Or 5 days a week I think you mentioned in a reply. Do you use them on the days you use the aha/bha peel?
Hey! So I use the Glycolic acid toner and lactic 5 days a week. When I do the aha bha I skipped the lactic acid. ( i slowly introduced it back after the aha bha peel as I build up tolerance) i would keep the nights routine simple on days I do peel or retinol. So for example do the aha bha, then oil and moisturizer. moisturizing I do Squalane oil, a moisturizer and a thin layer of Cerave Healing Ointment. It will seal moisturizer to prevent drying. The cerave at the end has made HUGE difference and took care of the dryness😊
@@AnaReczynski thanks so much! I already have most of the products (other than the peel), I'll give it a shot!
@@Aquarius84Angel 😊 I hope it works out for you💕 I know the struggle let me know how it works
Thank you for that information. My teen daughter have keratosis, would you say that she is too young for the products you recommended. I really like your products that you recommended and I will speak to her dermatologist.
You're welcome! Definitely double check with her dermatologist. You could always do a patch test on her to see that she doesn't get a bad reaction. I tried these on my son and saw that it helped. He's 13. I don't do it as often for him...maybe 2 to 3x a week. Especially in the beginning try easing into it. Let me know how it goes!
Wait but what do u have to use in the morning
Hi ..1st of all thank you for this video..i have kp on my arms & thighs. But it recently spread on my face..it's horrible..made me so insecure about my skin. I bought these products..just want to know how long does it take to improve? And can i use glycolic acid every day? What moisturizer do you use? Sorry for asking many questions but I'll really appreciate your help❤
Hey! I'm sorry for the delay. I saw improvements after a week. The texture started to improve. For moisturizer I use the Ordinary Squalane Oil and Jones Road Miracle cream😊
Hello. Thanks so much for this video. Just wondering, if you pop your kp does a yellow, firm, seed-like thing come out? Also, do you use lactic acid and glycolic acid on the same night?
😄 yes!!! I use glycolic acid and lactic acid every night💕
Yup, those transparent things from your pores...
Hello! On the night where you use the peeling solution and retinol, do you use the plant squalene and moisturizer? Can you just use a moisturizer instead of the healing ointment?
Thank you! I’m gonna start this regiment!
Hey!! So on the nights of peeling solution I use Squalene, and moisturizer and healing Ointment. I use the healing Ointment because I'm tdry and it seals moisturizer. You dont habe to do it but I have seen benefits with it😊
Hello Anna! Thanks so much for the feedback! That’s exactly what I did.. thinking the oil would just be something soothing and nice post peel and topped it off with the CeraVe Moisturizing lotion.
All the healing ointment ares sold out atm. So I’m gonna sit tight with the lotion till I can come across some.
Thanks so much once again. I already feel a little bit softer on my jawline after the peel. Hoping to introduce the retinol sometime later in the week. Do you have a recommendation for how many days you would space the peeling solution and usage of regional? ( originally aiming for wed since I use the peel on sat)
Hey girl. After I watched this video I ended up buying all the products to try. I been using them for about a week now and definitely notice a different with the texture and how smooth my skin has been. The only problem I’m still having is the redness of it and that’s the part that makes me very insecure. If you have any suggestions on how to reduce the redness please let me know! Thanks so much
Hey, I noticed it took my skin took about a month to tone down redness. It never completely went away for me but a tinted moisturizer does help to cut some of the redness. 🥰
what order/steps do you use the products?
I suffer from massive KP on arms but the lower cheeks are also having quite a lot of it and nowhere do i find solution for the face. Your video looks really promising will surely try out. I was using salicylic acid for last 2-3 months now for the bumps on the face assuming maybe they are acne. I feel it smoothes the texture a little bit but the bumps and redness are always still there. I might have some questions before starting this routine. If you really do respond to questions that would be super great. A lot of content makers put out videos but dont really get back on our doubts
Hey! It certainly sounds like KP. I've never tried salicylic acid for KP. I've always tried to exfoliate with lactic acid for example. Have you seen a dermatologist?
@@AnaReczynski i saw a dermatologist for my arms and legs. She did see my face but did not give anything for the face. She mentioned mormal serums that i use vitamin c niacinamide those will be enough for the face but i never saw the facial KP reducing. After starting salicylic acid by myself i felt the texturing improved a bit but still not getting smooth.
Best video I've seen. Did you Doctor tell you about these products?
Thank you! Nope, this was me doing some research and taking a chance 🥰
I have the same problem, I want to have a laser treatment to improve it and the redness, what do you think about this technology to treat it? :)
Hey, I hadn't heard of this treatment. I always thought because our bodies produced more keratin than usual we were stuck with it forever.
From my research there is underlying cause. It could be from allergies to grains. Also I heard it could be vitamin A deficiency. Dr Berry on UA-cam says it may be from hyperinsulinemia. Basically it is genetic disposition but gets triggered by diet. Once I’m done breastfeeding I will begin an elimination trial to my diet to find what causes my KP.
Wow! Really?? I'll look more into it. I think youre right. A few years ago I did a very clean diet because I have RA and my skin was probably at its best.
I wanted to ask if the KP on your face gets inflamed when you exfoliate with the towel? The most I can do is an SA cleaner without inflaming it. How would you recommend doing an equivalent of exfoliating without irritating the skin?
Hey! The best exfoliating for me is when I do Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid 10%. I find that these exfoliating doesn't irritate my skin.
Hi, i also suffer from the same thing.I was curious to know is there a way to clean the face hair.I have alot of face hair or does that not affect it at all?I would appreciate the reply.❣❣your an awsome support,❣❣❣
Hey! I think an oil cleaner would be helpful. This way you can deep clean the skin. I love the dhc cleansing oil, it cleans nicely and doesn't strip my skin.😊
How do I know if I have KP on my face? I have that dry pink texture (no whiteheads/blackheads). It can get itchy sometimes. It looks like yours but mines are more bumpy looking. Are there any mild exfoliants? I used azeliac acid and it made my skin worse 😿
Hey!! It sounds like KP to me. I always recommend checking with a dermatologist. I found glycolic acid to be the best with KP. It helps with texture. Lactic acid too.
thank you so so much for this video! i already have 2 of the products you mentioned from the ordinary. i’ve been using hyaluronic acid, granactive retinoid, “blood mask” AHA peeling solution, and eucerin advanced repair cream and plant derived squalene. i had no idea what to get just kind of guessed. but i will get everything you said because my KP on my face is horrible, it’s ALL over both of my cheeks, chin, and neck. also i understand the insecurity you have/had with this condition and i definitely see a great improvement with your skin. i really appreciate this video since nobody talks about KP on the face, and i hope this works well for me, thank you sm 💗
I hope it works for you too! The lactic acid and bha aha are super helpful. Just make sure that you wear spf when using these 😊
@@AnaReczynski great! i just ordered some sunscreen and once i get paid i’m gonna order everything else :)
@@emy4808 awesome! I wish you luck! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions
@@AnaReczynski thank you so much, i’m really appreciative 💜
How did you discover each of these products and how did you figure out that it would work for your KP? are there any other issues that this regimen help treats like acne, dark spots, scarring/hyperpigmintation?
Hey!! I started looking into what helps and found that chemical exfoliating was key. Then I looked into other kp creams and found lactic acid and glycolic acid were always present. Most things like Paula's Choice or KP (I forgot what it was called but it was like a cream) was outnof my budget. Then did more research and found things like ordinary to be more affordable and lactic acid that was safe for the skin. I also looked into psoriasis too and found these products help. These products do help with hyperpigmentation and Dark spots because the exfoliating but you MUST use spf. Or it'll cause more dark spots. It was a lot of trial and error lol
Hi! On what days do you do all these products and what order do you use them in?
The Order I use them,
Aha/bha Peeling Solution -Sun + Thursday
Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution -4x week
Lactic Acid 10% + HA 4x week
Retinol 0.5% in Squalane 1x week
100% Plant Derived Squalane daily
Supergoop Glow Stick Spf50 daily
Can u add the acids to your upper/under eyes? I have bumps there too, but they're bumps as the same color as my skin so I'm not sure if it's the same thing
Hey! So I wouldn't recommend putting any acids near the eye area. That area is super delicate. I'd double check with a dermatologist about the eye area. I think what you may be describing is milia?
You can use the Beta hydroxy acid from the Inky List a friend of mine went to her dermatologist and she recommended this and she said it worked really good for her and yes my friend is really fair skin and has only white bumps under her eyes and she was told she has KP
Do u use the glycolic acid and the lactic acid separate or at the same time ?
I was using it back to back...but then changed it to alternating days
Hey, which product(s) do you think reduced redness the most?
Hey! The Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid reduced the most quickly❤
I feel like my 3 and a half year old son has this and we didn’t really get many answers of what to do from his pediatrician. They just think he has this condition. It looks kind of severe and it absolutely breaks my heart. I’ve just been using aloe on his face and baby cleanser idk what else to do...
Awww. I'm so sorry. Maybe Aveno might help, they have something with Oatmeal to help sooth?
I have this but right under my eyes. I don’t have no hair under my eyes and it is tricky to exfoliate under my eyes since it a very thin skin 🥺
Hey! Oh that's a really delicate area. Do you think an eye cream with retinol would help? Is it like directly under your eyes or more so on your cheekbones?
Ana Reczynski directly under my eyes. I have to look up for retinol you are the first one to propose that. I will research and give it a try! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I truly appreciate it.🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing this. I having the kp since i was child. And i just wanna ask is there any other way that i can use less product or what product are important to use, bc i never use any product on face before ( kinda lazy )
Yes 😄 I got you! The two main things you want to useare glycolic acid and lactic acid....make sure you use spf. I'm lazy too 😄
Hey, do you use the squalane oil every night? And is their any other moisturisers you recommend as the one you were replying to people with is a bit pricey for me x
Hey! I use the Squalane during the day. Yes! Another moisturizer that is really good is the ordinary moisturizing factors + ha...its more affordable and keeps the skin soft🥰
@@AnaReczynski thank you!
@@AnaReczynski sorry to keep asking questions, but i'm 13 years old and struggle really bad with KP on my arms, face, and legs. My KP is very red due to my pale skin which makes it even more noticeable. I was just wondering if all of these steps would be fine for my skin or am I too young. I wear foundation everyday and i would just love to be natural
@@laurenarmour3755 hey! I would double check with your pediatrician. I wish I could give you answer. The retinol I know is going to be a little too strong. My son is also 13, I've let him use the glycolic acid toner and lactic acid for his KP. He does it 2x a week. But the best thing to do is double check with your doctor. 💕
@@AnaReczynski sorry for bugging you again, but does he use the latic acid and the toner on the same days or separate? like say use them both on monday and then again or friday or would u do latic on monday and friday and the toner on wednesday and sunday ( just random days btw). thank you for being so helpful!
Hi, I have also a rough texture, bumpy skin, I don't know what to do mam? Hoping you can help me mam!
Hey!! The best combo that I've tried to help with the bumpy textured is Glycolic toner and lactic acid 10%. Also gently washing your face with a warm wash cloth helps too. Always moisturize your skin too🥰
I was on a course of low-dose accutane for one year... and during my treatment I developed keratosis pilaris on my body and face... I basically traded one skin condition (acne) for another and I'm so upset... KP is so hard to get rid of 😞
I'm so sorry to hear that. I know keratosis pilaris can be upsetting. For me the best I can get is less red and reduce some texture. I'm still on the hunt to treat it too❤❤
Hello, I was on accutane for six months and after 3 months after treatment I have developed KP on face face, it’s worse on my lower cheek.
I already tried tretinoin and SA which for some reason it made it worse. 😭😭
@@BabyHannah05 Hey Johanna! Mine is also the worst on my lower cheeks! My derm said to use glycolic acid 10%... not sure if you've tried that yet? The second part of treating KP, aside from exfoliation, is moisturizing! Make sure you're using a good moisturizer every day and night! Also sunscreen! I'm seeing my derm next month again so I'll update you on what else she suggests! Sorry to hear that you're going through this too... especially after accutane 😔
@@victoriae4215 thank you so much for the advice. Yes I do wear sunscreen and use really good moisturizers. I’m going to try the glycolic acid to see how it goes. Again thank you so much
I know I went to go see a dermatologist, and he told me I have KP skin but also rosacea, which I think I don't have rosacea it's just gets red when I feel irritation on my skin. My skin started changing when I went and got a facial and from there my skin has changed alot! 😢😢
Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear that! I agree kp can look like rosacea because when it's irritated we get flushed.
Hi what cleanser do you use or prefer for KP?
Hey! I always recommend a gentle Hydrating cleanser. My favorite at the moment is from True Botanicals, it's called the Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm. Its very hydrating and has lactic acid and azeliac acid to gently exfoliate.
@@AnaReczynskiI just bought a bunch of products from the ordinary do I use the lactic acid first or glylolic acid ?
It really is annoying when all the shop assistants talk about my face like I had acne. When I try explaining what I have, some look at me like I'm just seeking attention or just am plain dumb and can't acknowledge I have acne 😡 KP has made my life uncomfortable since early teens. I'm 35 now and understood it's KP on my face not long ago. I had to figure it out all on my own, since there is no information about KP on the face anywhere and no body really talks about it.
I completely agree! I was teased for it when I was a teenager. This boy pointed out infront of my 8th grade history class...Ana has acne!!!! I was so embarrassed 😳. The best treatment to minimize is exfoliation with lactic acid and glycolic acid....atleast for myself 💕
My skin is not red itchy or sensitive but its super oily and textured having chicken texture under eye area will these products suit me ?
Hey! Have you had it looked at? It kind of sounds like Milia?
i have it on my cheeks and arms. if i didnt have it on my face i wouldve had full beard but i dont 🥲
Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that. I highly recommend the lactic acid and glycolic acid toner. Moisturizer and spf. The lactic acid should provide some relief
@@AnaReczynski Thanks for the feedback , screenshoted your comment so when i go to CVS next time definitely will check those products. 🖤
I really want to love The Ordinary products, but there are so many and I have no idea what combination of products will work best for me..I do not have keratosis pilaris , but I am 43 so, the fine lines are starting not be so fine anymore..lol..☺
Hey!! I really love the ordinary. Its been such a big help for me. Maybe try with the AHA BHA peel 1st and a lower retinol? I noticed the retinol made a difference with texture and some fine lines I have. I'm noticing little lines appearing too. I'm really expressive sometimes lol I've also been lathering up on the spf...i never wore it really in my 20s and younger years. Kinda wish I started earlier 😕
Do I apply the squalane oil after the lactic acid???
Hey! Yes!
I will try this but I’m not sure if it’s ketoris but they are small bumps and it’s annoys me everyone has clear skin exespt me !
I feel your pain! Try it and let me know how it works🥰
What do you use as a cleanser?
Currently, I use DHC Cleansing Oil
For the lactic acid serum can i start with a 5% lactic acid with HA instead of 10% lactic acid? Will it provide benefit in this situation?
Hey! I'd start with 5% if it's your first time. You'll still get results
@@AnaReczynski thanks a lot for your response. I had couple of more queries:-
1. can i still apply alpha arbutin serum for my face that i generally use for hyperpigmentation
2. All the products u mentioned, do u apply them all over ur face or only in the KP affected area.
3. Also i have seen u have named all the products in the description part but in the comment section if u can write down the exact routine of usage for each of them like which is daily which is weekly that would help a lot!!
@@paulomisanyal4729 hey! Im not sure what the alpha arbutin is. I'd research it, of its like a chemical exfoliate I'd use it on alternating days. Can you dm me on Instagram?
@@AnaReczynski hey i have send u a DM on instagram
Hi, can I use these products on my 10 yrs old daughter?
Hey, I recommend speaking to your pediatrician first
I don't have Kp before but suddenly it spread all over my face even though I follow all my exfoliation procedure..pls suggest me something for it...it is too inchy please suggest me something other than exfoliation because I do it on regular basis..
Hey! I would suggest a mild moisturizer that isn't scented. Have you tried cerave? Becareful not to over exfoliate, it can irritate the skin making it very itchy
@@AnaReczynski thanku so much
I love it in women.
Are these products ok for 13 year old skin?
I aways recommend asking your pediatrician and doing a patch test. I used it on my son when he was 13 with no issues.
At what age did you start doing this? My son is 11 with KPRF.
My son has it too all over his cheeks. I just started him with Glycolic Acid toner and Lactic Acid. I started using this routine almost a yeat ago...recently incorporated the lactic acid. Im 33, I've had it since I was 5. My mom used to take me to the dermatologist and nothing worked. This has by far been then best routine. After about 2 days of the lactic acid and Glycolic Acid on my son there is a noticeable difference. 💕
@@AnaReczynski Thanks for the video and quick reply. I've been looking on Amazon for the products you show during your video. Could you please share the links you're using for your son? My son will be 11 in May of this year. His acne is starting, but his KPRF is getting way worse. Thanks again, Ana. Your video has made me feel hope for his skin.
@@marcusallenblack you're welcome! I hope it helps. So I ordered mine from www.Ulta.com but you can also order from www.deciem.com and www.sephora.com The products are both from The Ordinary....called The Glycolic Acid 7% Toner and Lactic Acid 10% + HA. They're very affordable too, both will run you under $20.
@@AnaReczynski Thanks again, Ana! Much appreciated!
@@AnaReczynski Ana, I've been reading online you shouldn't start using glycolic and lactic acids until at least 16 years old? Your thoughts? I'm just so new to all this and don't want to possibly ruin my 11 year olds face. Again, appreciate all your help, responses and encouragement. Thank you!
Do you use any oral medications to help control this disease?
Hey!! I don't take any medicine. I try to avoid it as much as possible ❤
@@AnaReczynski Hi Ana, That is great! I have to take several oral meds as I suffer from Rosacea and long-term dermatitis.
@Joan N. do you find some relief with it? I' know it's super frustrating and sometimes so overwhelming
@@AnaReczynski Yes, I do. I take the OTC oral medication Rosadyn a few pills a day. I used to take tetracycline antibiotics for about 15 years, but now I am allergic so I had to stop. Rosacea/Seborrheic dermatitis of the face is what I have, it is hereditary.
Only thing that has ever helped me is sunlight. Ever tried manuka honey?
No I haven't. Like actual honey? Or is that a brand ?😊
@@AnaReczynski yes like actual honeys manuka honey is from new seal and. I use kiva manuka honey. You can’t just get anything you have to research it deep. You can get kiva from Amazon. I’m gonna try it out soon. How about sunlight for you? Has that ever worked for you or have you tried it? I know some people who tanned in the sun and got rid of this and it never came back. There is also some Chinese herbal medicine ointment on Amazon.
@@AnaReczynski also I’ve been using selsum blue shampoo since last week and seen major improvements
good afternoon, I'm 19 years old and I can't understand what you're saying in the video because I don't speak English, please help me🥺 My face has been red for years, there are no acne or anything like that, straight red, and there are no videos about it in Turkey, no one knows anything, I've come to find healing in your video, please tell me what I should use and how this disease on my face will pass, I've been dealing with this ulerythema ophryogenes disease for how many years, please save me from this red life..
Hi! I'm sorry to hear that. It's a difficult skin issue to deal with. What I find helps is glycolic acid and lactic acid. There is a brand called The Ordinary. It's affordable and I believe available globally. You can try the: Glycolic Acid Toner, Lactic Acid and a moisturizer with spf. You must use spf because the other products will make your skin more susceptible to sunburn.
I hope this helps!
The bumps can also be white
Yes! Red and white. Super frustrating at times
I have kp and rosacea😢
I hear ya. Exfoliating helps
Can i follow the same with my 8 yr old kid
Hey! I recommend checking with your pediatrician before trying it out. You can also try a patch test
remove the hair, the problem can't manifest
Also, if you take loads of omega 3 fish oils and cod liver oils your skin will get significantly better
Reason i know this is because i developed KP during puberty and have had it ever since. I am 53 now. Over time due to heart disease and medications i have lost the hair on my lower legs and i used to have significant KP there. It is now gone. No bumps, no red dots, no rough skin. The keratin gets stuck around the hair in the skin. With no hair remaining for the keratin to stick and accumulate on, the problem vanishes. If you want to rid yourself of it in particular areas, such as the cheeks, laser hair removal is a solid option. And will work well for women as removing fine hairs is much easier than course ones, which women have more fine hairs than men.
Ladies please please have all your hormones checked as well.
great suggestion!
