    Small channel, not many views.. yet this was by far one of THE MOST USEFUL REVIEWS I have EVER seen on a product.
    So many people out there talkin' about how they "love the sound" and this and that, but you're the FIRST I've seen (including written and photo reviews) to actually SHOW the 2.4 GhZ dongle - people on the official Amazon listing can't figure out if there IS a dongle or not - none of the other reviews talks about it, yet you not only showed it, visibly, but also took us through the process of setting it up, going through the options and whatnot.
    Masterfully done - SUPER appreciated this!
    Also love your place! Hope you're enjoying the headset! = ]

    Unbelievable ! Recieved just now.It's night and day compared to the Xbox Wireless Adapter. No dropouts or disconnections. All the flaws of the Xbox version are now fixed. So happy!The distance between the headset and the dongle is now huge..This is clearly abused by MS. to provide such a cheap dongle!Thank you B&O, product arrived a little late a year later, but at least they listened to their customers!

      What is the difference between this 2022 model and the 2021 Xbox modelo apart from the fact that, obviously, it will no longer be able to connect/synchronize with the Xbox via wireless (2.5hz frequency)? I'm wondering which one to get. It would be to use it on the PC for videos and music, and for the Series X, PS5 and Switch. I think I had read that the new model for Playstation has twice the battery, but I'm not sure. If I connect it by cable to the Xbox controller, does it lose quality or would it sound exactly the same as in Wireless/Bluetooth with Dolby Atmos, etc? Also Dolby Atmos is not supported on Playstation, so I wonder if this model supports it on Xbox via cable.

    Atmos processing isn’t done on these headphones, it’s done on the sending device (hence the need for the atmos app), so you can’t get atmos out of a tv if these were to be plugged in. In fact, very few tvs even support audio over usb, so you’re probably going to be out of luck trying these as you described at the end of the video.
    Still, glad to see they fixed the issues with dropouts and quality, but it’s a shame they screwed over everyone who already purchased the Xbox version to use on pc (with widely reported audio dropouts and breakup issues). The new dongle won’t connect to these, unfortunately, due to the way Xbox wireless works.

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  2 роки тому +1

      I used them with my LG C9, the USB stick did turn on but as you say no sound over USB unfortunately. The do work with normal BT and they sound really good as is, but no standard Atmos over BT as you said.
      Iam not sure that one can categorise it as such for whom already bought the Xbox version, they seem to be significantly different products of the same thing. I have both now and my Girlfriend loves the Xbox version with her phone and laptop.
      btw I think there was a recent sw update on the Xbox version that should've dealt with a bunch of the issues some people have had. I guess I was fortunate that I never really had any of them.
      Thank you for watching and commenting!

    Hey Miki!! Great review again! Man I want one, hahaha. I'm using a Sony headphone now on my PC and I was REALLY surprised how good it sounded when I got it. But I'm guessing it doesn't even come near to the Portal :) I'm currently saving up for a H6 or something like that. But I prefer wireless since cables and I never been friends. xD
    The Portal looks so nice and premium, also love the accessoires! I don't think I'll ever use the touch controls though, I always press the wrong buttons, but that's okay as long as it sounds good, the batterylife is good and the range is good :D And seeing your review, it seems to hit all those points! Even the Mic is decent! All that's left to do for you is to do some let's plays, hahaha.
    And to answer your question about which one I'd go with: I don't mind honestly, my Sony is connected to a Bluetooth 5.0 dongle right now and I'd be happy to use that still. However a 2.4Ghz connection should be a bit more responsive in gaming maybe? So I'd probably pick the one that will be cheapest on Marktplaats someday! :D Cheers!

      I record the mic as naked as possible, no noise cancelling etc on the mic. Willie's portals sound better on the BeoTalk Podcast partially because they are doing some background noise compensation in the headphones, but also Skype is doing a lot of that, then I also have audio filters running on my streaming software :p It's al very easy to do and most chat programs will do a similar version of this automatically, but I think it's good to know what the natural sound is :) (I agree, it's ok, not great)

    Awesome review. Any chance you can give a subjective comparison to a headset like the steel series arctis line? I’ve been using the arctis 7 for a while but can’t use them outside of gaming because of no secondary Bluetooth function. Honestly the arctis don’t sound great for music. They sound great for games but I imagine a better quality headset would sound much better for games. I love how the portals blend into premium over ear wireless daily driver territory without screaming “GAMER!” I think I’d happily make a compromise on mic quality for that trade off. One other question for you. Do you know if Dolby Atmos music streams over Bluetooth? I use Apple Music for my home theatre for music to get Dolby Atmos and am curious if that Atmos mix would work on these. I’m under the impression Atmos would only transfer over the wireless dongle connection but just curious what you’ve found so far. Thanks!!

      I am unsure if Atmos will go over BT, it may if the aptv will accept the licensing and all that. BT is by nature somewhat limited in bandwidth though and the dongle isn't on the 2.4ghz band. So I don't know, you could ask their customer service to help answer you those questions. hope the have the answer ready :)

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, the slider on the side primarily connects to the dongle and if that's not present then it goes to the phone or what ever else. So if connected to the dongle the two volumes are independent and the phone will have to be adjusted on the phone in that case. Hope that clears it up?

      @@derekm36 When I use Bluetooth there is no problems at all. When I use the adaptor, the only problem I have had is that the Portals didn't connect in the first try, and I had to try again. But it only happened twice or something. Are you using them for gaming? Otherwise Bluetooth is better anyway 😋

    Could I use this version with my Xbox as well? I don’t want to have to buy to different headsets 😢

    • @Mikipedia

      it'll work with BT or with a 3.5mm cable but I don't know if the dongle works as I don't have an xbox and I don't know if they allow audio out over usb. So I would suggest either checking that or writing the B&O helpdesk and see what they say.

    Question can this connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time?

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  2 роки тому +1

      Not for it to work no, two sources at the same time is the dongle and a BT source.

    Will this version work with Xbox series x just did my research they will work with Xbox but wired 3.5

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  2 роки тому +1

      I don't have an Xbox to test with. They should work wired like you said or BT, but I am unsure if the dongle works with the Xbox and how MS setup the audio out over usb and if that were to work if the mic would work.
      The answer gets really convoluted with so many connection options... So it may work fully but I am not sure, otherwise it should work in a different way too.

      yes, I find that really distracting but you can do it and set levels too. The app also lets you set if you want to auto mute either if you like, really nifty.

      @@jonehelland6468 Iam going from memory here as I am away from my pair, but I don't think you get the option to mute BUT you will always be muted to the ps5 if you take the phone call. So if you accept the call your ps5 party won't hear you anymore but you may be able to hear them if you allow that in the app.

      The USB stick for connectivity mostly and that it won't do the 2.4ghz Xbox connection. otherwise they are pretty much the same, so depends on what you want to do with it really.
