Hey Gus, enjoying your videos and adventuring! I think it would be great if between these long videos you did some short videos keeping us up to date on more recent things you're doing. Even if it's just a couple minutes long. The long videos are from a few months ago and maybe a video a week or every couple of weeks giving us updates would be awesome. I don't think we would even mind if it's just you talking into the camera. Could be a good way to get more exposure to your channel as well!
How did you start learning all the things you need to know about working on boats? Was it just a case of being a diesel mechanic and giving all the other jobs a go?
When cruising off shore what are the wind wave conditions you look for (or what do you see when you say No to offshore)? You don’t have stabilizer right? Issue ? Thx !!
Bluepoints Marina at Port Canaveral should be embarrassed at their show of gratitude for your business. I'm 70+ and admire your drive and energy. Working together with Frosty sailing down the whole East Coast in winter as you've done.
Absolutely not only are they POS their $140 will cost them thousands. He bought fuel on top of that. Next time claim Force Majuer. You couldn’t proceed without fuel.
I would have told him to F off you came in after midnight. Then would have told him my 130 UA-cam viewers will love to here about your wonderful marina
Bluepoints marina is on it's way out. Thier lease has been bought back by the port authority to put in another cruise terminal so they do not care how they treat customers. It is a shame because they were a class "A" marina.
Frosty makes for good entertainment. Gus did all the work offshore in the Summer/Fall so he's had less problems. The channel would have been less interesting without Frosty. Remember when Gus had to go underwater in freezing waters to fix Frosty? Epic!
At some point it would be cool if you could do a video of all the data such as fuel used, miles traveled, engine hours, expenses, stuff like that. You are a great inspiration for all young boaters. I couldn’t imagine undertaking all you’ve accomplished in your young life. I’m sure your parents couldn’t be prouder. You are blessed and we are blessed to live in your shadow.
I like to wear flannel when I'm out and about in Florida (Boynton Beach). It hasn't been that warm this winter and I like dressing like a northerner (Massachusetts in the summer).
I enjoy your videos gus wish you were you on every week . I bought my frist boat when I was 12years old i am now 78 i owned 7 boats the last boat was a 34ft searay express 1988 MODEL that i bought 1997 . I am out of boating now . my boating was all in new england your back yard from salem to cape cod and MV.AND NANTUCKET YOU ARE DOING EVERY RIGHT THANK YOU
Hey Gus, you're so grown-up beyond yours years. We are all so fortunate to live in a country like ours. You have a great attitude, work hard, you get what you put in. I wish more of the younger generation had your philosophy. My hat's off to you Gus...Cheers man.
You guys are just brilliant. Your enthusiasm, mechanical knowledge, joy for life, just everything is off the charts. Your travel videos are the best on You Tube, wat better than any tv show too. Well done to the both of you.
Gus, thank you for teaching this 76-year-old hippy how to be more mellow! Love your enthusiastic attitude. Love how you minimize adversity. Also, love your outstanding video work! Sorry about the drone.....
My Old Capt when i was fishing w him he taught me when you jump aboard before you start check the oil then look over motor then you can start just in case..
Thank you for letting us tag along on your trip from Portland to Miami. Your videos are so informative and enjoyable. I can't wait for the next one. Safe travels.😊
Gus is a good example of what a young man who was raised correctly by his parents should be like. He is very intelligent and very skilled at all types of marine stuff. He is also polite, considerate and displays good manners. Most young men of his age group are rude and disrespectful, however Gus is not. I am sure that his parents are very proud of him.
Gus and Ethan you guys are awesome. Love these videos I honestly wish I was as adventurous as you are when I was your age. It’s very inspiring to see younger people out making it happen and even though it’s not easy, and not all fun you guys handle it all in style and keep smiling. Hope to see you on the water one day. Will you be back in Maine this summer?
Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. How up lifting to here someone realising they are blessed and happy. I only realised when it was over.
Frosty has major determination most would have literally pulled the plug with what he has to deal with SO FAR I hope the rest of trip is far less issues I'm praying for both of you
I Enjoy your channel, been watching since you started out on the Albin. You’re very knowledgeable with mechanical issues. Where did you learn so much at an early age? Most young people your age can’t even put air in their tires.
32:06. “ I love this boat” that’s a feeling When you have your boat set up how you want it and good to go it’s the absolute best feeling I say it every time I’m out on one of mine
Its been a pleasure to go along with you...Very happy to know you're safe... You're a very impressive machanic/boat builder/ sailor and captain.... SAFE TRAVELS STSY HEALTHY
They're actually riding the pressure wave under the surface that the front of a fast moving boat creates. They're not swimming, they're riding it like we humans do when we surf on a surfboard above the surface. You'll notice their tail fins aren't really moving much. They're just having a fun ride. Smart guys.
I was lucky enough to see a space shuttle launch from the water. I drove from California to Dayton Beach for Daytona bike week and after bike week I went to West Palm Beach to have paint work repaired on a show bike. I heard about the launch of STS-119 and I was telling a buddy how it would be cool to see the launch and he said lets his new boat up to the cape to see the launch and I didn't what he had for a boat. We go down to the dock and I see a brand new 4000hp twin turbine power Nor Tech 47' cat ready to go. That was a fun experience and it was an evening launch so it was getting dark.
So glad you showed the dolphins, so everyone could experience it! The first time I saw dolphins bringing in a ship was in Galveston, Texas. It was so neat to see! Enjoying your videos!
Absolutely love Gus's enthusiasm and positive vibes. I do think you're like a lucky charm and one of the luckiest persons I've ever seen.. anyways, love it's when you do these voyages. Cheers🥂🍹🍸🍻
I can't get enough of these vlogs. My displacement cruiser is having work done right now. It should he ready in a month or so. It's been a good number of years since I had time to be on the boat. Videos like these have kept me going when I haven't been able to hear my own diesel engines chugging away underfoot and the wash. Hell I've even been happy to hear the windlass pull an anchor chain up.
Savannah is a cool place...Did you visit the old cemetery in town? Part of Forest Gump was filmed in town park fyi. I believe you missed Fernandina Beach Florida which is a cool place just inside at St Marys entrance.
Skip bluepoints marina folks. Its always been a mariner thing if you arrive middle of the night and get fuel/services you don’t pay dock fees. Pretty piss poor move on their part..
What an epic journey! 🙏 Thx for sharing it with us 👍 And I‘ve said this in another comment, but I wasn’t that much into boats at all but after your first video I was hooked and I every time enjoyed a new episode by Gus and Ethan. Five of us rode our motor cycles down to see the last launch of Americas Saturn V, the largest rocket that America ever made..probably 5+ times larger than the big one you saw. Another awesome video. I absolutely loved this series of you and the Frosty V making your way down to Miami. I can’t wait for the next one and hope to see more of you and Frosty having fun in Miami! It’s refreshing to see a couple of young, hard working guys living their dream and counting their blessings. 🙏
Hey guys we're out of pt Judith rhode island... block island is a blast in the summer.. but so is Pt judith some cool islands to anchor out in between in Salt pond.. hope to see you... and great videos
Was out on a friends boat for one of the last Shuttle launches. It was a hell of an experience. I could not believe how much the boat shook. Keep living the good life. You are correct these northern winters get depressing.
This vid reminds me of when my younger brother and I were in Georgia to help our older sister get ready to move back to Texas. At the time ( 1970's ) my sister lived in Springfield which is about 20 miles up the highway from Savannah and her husband worked on boats that serviced the ocean going ships docked at the Port of Savannah. He fell of the boat he was on into the river and drowned, which is why she was moving back to Texas. While my brother and I were there, we spent our free time in Savannah, meeting people and having a blast. The main part of the city is divided into Squares which are several hundred years old. Savannah is such a beautiful and charismatic city. You mentioned you wanted to go back and visit the city sometime in the future. Please do so and spend some time touring the older parts of the city. Thanks for posting your videos. I really enjoy them. Good Luck.
Great video. I can relate to the challenges, right now I feel like I'm going against all odds. Firing squad, sudden death and all that. I'd be reluctant to say the least to make a similar trip. Unless I knew my boat inside and out from stem to stern, and lots on money.
I watched the very last Space Shuttle launch from Cocoa Beach, that thing makes the SpaceX launch(not the Starship), look like a bottle rocket! Pretty cool none the less. Was supposed to go down there next week, but got canceled last minute. Thanks for posting Gus🎉
Gus, I acknowledge and share your Joy and Enthusiasm for being in Florida. I have been here for 17 years and I also feel Blessed to be here, Everyday. T.Y.
I know exactly where you guys died up in the Savannah river to work on Frosty. Used to kayak and sail my Hobie 17 in that river and later my Nacra 20 during the Tybee 500 race. I proposed to my wife right at the entrance to the river at the northern tip of Tybee Island
Thanks for taking us along for the awesome trip. Sitting here in the North East does suck in the winter months. I lived in Tybee Island in the late 70's early 80's USCG. I more recently lived in Central Fla outside of Palm Bay. When I was stationed in Ft Pierce in USCG on a 81 footer "Pt Barnes" we went down the ICW all the way to Miami in the late 70's... This was a relive trip for me as you went past things I've not seen in awhile.. You can feel your emotions of your blessings and your gratitude for those blessings and living a blessed life. Wow, Frosty made the trip more pleasurable for you both.. more memories for the book of life. Looking forward to the next episode. Hopefully I'll find myself back in Florida before too much more time goes by. God Bless an Happy Easter..

Gus your alright. Can you try and list fuel price per gallon in your travels. There are bigtime differences between regions.
Bluepoints Marina at Port Canaveral should be embarrassed at their show of gratitude for your business. I'm 70+ and admire your drive and energy. Working together with Frosty sailing down the whole East Coast in winter as you've done.
greed. I pass that marina all the time coming from Orlando to Cocoa Beach. I'll remember that.

Damn good thing Frosty brought a diesel mechanic along on the voyage!
Yer ha I would like to see more engine diagnosis 😅

Big old boats are lot less daunting when you have a buddy to help
You guys make a good team.
"Spot the Mainer in West Palm Beach" - the only dude wearing flannel ... hahaha

Gus, thank you for teaching this 76-year-old hippy how to be more mellow! Love your enthusiastic attitude. Love how you minimize adversity. Also, love your outstanding video work! Sorry about the drone.....
I'm gonna miss these adventure south updates!
Well done, Gus. Hope Frosty got his engine transmission issue fixed.

Nice work, gentlemen!
Thank you for letting us tag along on your trip from Portland to Miami. Your videos are so informative and enjoyable. I can't wait for the next one. Safe travels.😊
I really like Savannah too. Beautiful city great restaurants. Fun episode.
Epic I used to run a Hatteras 70 up and down the icw and out side in the early 2000s and your video brings back the memories I will never forget. Epic
Anyone get the feeling that Gus loves a bit of herbs and spices? 😂
Do you blame him?? He's a young guy.. 😅
Rocket launch was so cool!
Man, you are blessed! Keep living your life your way....
He really needs you always good to cross together and glad y’all met and doing it together as one

Another great video Gus , glad you made it to Florida safe ,really enjoy watching, keep us informed off more adventures 😊
Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. How up lifting to here someone realising they are blessed and happy. I only realised when it was over.
Bluepoints Marina in Port Canaveral, shame on you! 140 dollars for 5 hour stay with 400 plus dollars in fuel purchase! BS! Boaters/Loopers take note!
Frosty has major determination most would have literally pulled the plug with what he has to deal with SO FAR I hope the rest of trip is far less issues I'm praying for both of you
That was totally awesome those Rockets launching!! Great footage my fellow Mainiac
Well done Gus and Frosty - Great video too. Where to next???? Take care now!
Great series of videos Gus! Congratulations to both of you guys on a fun and successful trip. Here's to many, many more adventures ahead!!

Love these videos Gus, great positive energy, really enjoyable
Brother, that is a great gratitude list around min mark 53. Yes you are blessed Gus, keep up the good life and thank your maker.

What an epic journey! 🙏 Thx for sharing it with us 👍
And I‘ve said this in another comment, but I wasn’t that much into boats at all but after your first video I was hooked and I every time enjoyed a new episode by Gus and Ethan.
Life is good, and there‘s nothing wrong about it!

Hello, This is the best episode YET. Your cruser is looking great, compaired to the pick-up! Bet your buddy will add one soon, too!!!
Loved the rocket launch in Cape Canaveral, I'm 71 and you took me back to my Collage Days! I went to Daytona Beach for Collage in the early 70's. Five of us rode our motor cycles down to see the last launch of Americas Saturn V, the largest rocket that America ever made..probably 5+ times larger than the big one you saw. It was supposed to lift off at 5:30pm and kept getting pushed back about every 2 hours...it finally lit up and lift off was 2:00am, it was a long ride back to Daytona...we graduated that next day!!! When it lit up, it was absolute daylight for 20 miles and took a 20 second burn before it left the launching pad, when it was high overhead, was when we experienced the awsome feeling of man's man made POWER, with the tremendus fierce roar of the engines "Crackeling" power that we felt in our chests, just deaffening!!!! And we were no closer than 5 miles from the pad.
I have had 5 large boats 30' to 42', moored in various marinas on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan and in Charleston, SC. You should have skipped Savannah and spent more time in Charleston; its about 5 times the size port and town as Savannah. Can't imagine a better way to spend Christmas.
That laughing was great!!! First time I ever seen that kinda stuff… “To the moon Alice “ !!! This video is awesome dude’s,,,
Don't worry about being too close to Cape Canaveral during a launch. Believe me, they'll let you know. Don't ask me how I know.
😅Now I gotta ask how you know lol
😂😂😂
Got escorted out of the keep out zone by the Coast guard didn't you
So happy I found your channel, I always put you in when I am working, I have you in the background and check your progress and Frosty is a great addition, so good you have each other
Charleston is my favorite city but I love the warmer weather in Florida.

Brilllllliant Bella & Frosty - Thanks for sharing ⛵️ 👍
Omg seeing those Dolphins coming along for the ride ❤

Love the music in the video. You are truly blessed, enjoy. ❤
You r great boater keep going!
Loving your work Gus, wish you all the best pal. 🏴

I think I'm falling in love with Frosty!!❤❤❤ Go Frosty!!!
Such a cool ol boat 😊

Hell yea been waiting for part 4
Great job with your videos.
Love following your adventure. Well done!
Unbelievable. If I didn't see your trip with my own two eyes, well, fill in the blank. Mike.
