The vibes of this game are so on point. You absolutely could not make a game like this today (and really even at the time considering we didn't get CL2,3,4, & 5); the art style (and beat 'em up style gameplay) would be absolute commercial poison. But if it clicks with you it really clicks. It also absolutely nails the feel. The hitstop is so juicy and the sound effects so crunchy it makes the great sword in Monster Hunter feel like swinging a pool noodle.
at first i thought 'oh this looks cool, maybe i'll try this sometime' and then you showed the Arcia gameplay and, no, i need to play this now (great video!!)
I remember this game. Got it because it was cheap and the back said it was like Devil May Cry. I'd say it's Diet DMC but DMC2 was already that. So, DMC Zero.
The marketing and reviews comparing this game to DMC were legit insane. There's nothing about this game that's like DMC except the fact that Arcia has pistols. And like *some* of the aesthetic stuff I mentioned but that's it lmao it drove me crazy.
A forgotten gem as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad I still own it, I need to replay it eventually. I still remember going to buy it it when it was relatively new, and the guy at the store asked me if I was sure I wanted to buy it lol. I believe like twice, I was mildly annoyed. Glad I bought it.
It's a cool game. I'd be fairly jazzed if an indie came along and made something original with this style of gameplay, or if it was remade and had its problems ironed out. However, the former will never happen, and I'm not sure I'd trust anyone with the latter, outside of a highly dedicated team of fans.

The graphics remind of the 3D castlevania games from PS2 and Xbox from the early 2000’s. I love it ❤
Chaos legion!!!
It's peak.

Arcia is incredible it's criminal she only gets the one stage in the main game. But Capcom knew they cooked so they gave her her own playthrough!!

Oh what i’d do for Capcom to go have again like they did for the ps2 through early 360 era. Where almost there.

Have you played Sword of Etheria?
Nope not yet. Plan to check it out at somepoint though
@@Ghooly it's similar to CL in that the player character doesn't have the deepest move set, so you have to work with your AI party members
@@shizuwolf ooo that sounds fun yeah I'll definitely check it out
