- Plus size Maxxis Minions DHF and DHR II (27.5x2.8). Weight comparation with Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.8 and Specialized Ground Control 3.0.
Using Mavic E-XA Elite 27+ Boost wheels with 40 mm rim width.
Hi If I wanted to put a 2.80 tire on the front, would stability be good?
Did you put calipers to the DHF like you did with the Nobby Nic? If so, do you have the measurement? Also, any comparison to the Nobby Nic up front in terms of cornering traction, etc? Thanks!
I checked, and the tire width of the DHR on a 40mm rim is about 2.65 inches. In this configuration, the DHF is a more aggressive and expensive tire, so it should be better than the Nobby Nic Performance.
I was thinking of putting a 2.8 on my boost rockshox but my max tire clearance for the rear is 2.3 is that okay?
It will be unbalanced if you have 2.8 in front and 2.3 rear. Wheel with wider tire has bigger diameter so that's mean slight change in geometry. For wide tires like this you also need wider rims. Do you have it? If you want wider tires, try to get used 2.4 or 2.5 tires for test.
@@BikeReady I actually have a weinmann u40tl with 35mm inner rim width and 40mm outer rim width
But 35mm wide rim is to wide for 2.3 isn't it?
@@BikeReady I already installed a hans dampf 2.35 for the rear and magic mary for the front. Thank you for your advice anyway.
what brand and how wide is your rim? thank you

Hello!
Have you tried DHR2 2.8 as a front ?
I can't find any reviews of this specific one as a front tire.
I currently have a DHR 29x2.4 on another bike, and it's good. However, next time, I plan to purchase an Assegai 29x2.50" for better transition knobs.
Which one is better to put in the front and which one in the back?
