I have the same rifle I bought when I was younger. I also have the weaver scope. Must have been a common package back then. Awesome rifle and I have taken many a varmint with it.
We have one of these here in Ireland. When we bought it, my father wanted the semi auto but I talked him into the bolt action. I always preferred bolt actions. It’s a lovely rifle. Tesco scope. With good ammo it’s deadly accurate. I used to shoot rats with it.
Been watching one at a pawn shop in town on and off for a couple months, worked with them a little and got it home for $270. A little beat here and there on the stock, but can't complain, everything cleaned up nice. I know it's worth it, I have a couple other Marlin rifles and they're excellent. Not many bolt action .22 WMR's out there, so got to buy when you find a good example!
For prices right now $270 isnt bad at all. Mine was my grandfathers and i bought it along with all of his guns when they auctioned off their farm. I think i gave $100 for mine. They are very good shooters and you just cant beat the tube feed magazine on a rimfire. Keep me up to date on how it performs. Im happy for ya. And your awesome
Hello from Australia! Great gun - I have 2 and also have a 782. I agree with you a tube fed rimfire is a wonderful thing. These older marlins are much better than the newer stuff and the heavy triggers can be lightened with a spring from a pen. They are hard to find in Oz as not many people let them go once they find one. Thanks for the video and yes mine shoot like yours - very accurate.
@@mafirearmsafety No. Guns are allowed but there is tighter controls on what guns you can own and magazine capacity. There’s 3 million registered firearms in Australia and a population of 25 million people.
Incorrect. This rifle is a model 783. They look alot alike yes. But mine is the older version. And yes to my knowledge the 882 was a mag fed and the 883 was tube fed. Just like the 781 and 783 were tube fed and the 782 was mag fed
@@hahn-arms8006 correct. They discontinued the 783 in 1988. I just bought a very clean one from NY on gunbroker. It’s a 1988 and has the black trigger. The earlier 1970’s version had the gold trigger.

Thanks for your video , I have one my dad bought for me back in 1982 👍.
Great gun. Still have mine from 1983. Still shoots like new.

They are pretty good rifles. Weaver was a very popular scope back in the bay. Alot of my older rifles have them.

I'd rather buy a old used one than a new one
I have one of those that says micro groove on it,but I don’t have a scope on it yet.
Mine also is a micro groove

Thats awesome. Nice to meet you. The older ones are definitely my preferred choice. Your awesome.
I thought no guns allowed for the ordinary people there?

Hello from WNY! Great firearm! I have a Marlin 883 (ss). Love it. Under appreciated caliber. Thanks for sharing.
I just picked one of these up from a neighbor for $40!
I have that same model got for my bday back in 85.. what size scope would be good for that model? Thx in advance
Mine has a straight 4 power scope. And I works just fine. When it comes to optics it really depends on what you are gonna use it for.
I think that the model number is 883 which was tube fed and the 882 was magazine-fed back in the day it was called a clip correct me if I'm wrong

The 880 series rimfires replaced the 780 series.

Fouling shots first
