Chris Hau I like my GoPro 7 black better actually... but awesome tips Chris as usual. You inspired me to do my own vlogs traveling a social entrepreneur. I’m doing both English and Spanish we shall see how it goes. I’m 8 episodes in! Keep the tips coming. Much love 👊🏽
I have both (something neither of the other two commenters here at this time stated) and I prefer the Action so far. Will always love my Hero7 Black, but with DJI's updates always coming so fast, I can't imagine that the one or two lesser qualities of the Action won't be fixed in firmware updates ASAP. GoPro better work hard on the 8, because this camera is step-in' up the game! Competition is a good thing.
Great that you mentioned places like the desert, cause it is super bright whenever we shoot on open spaces. We're gonna get those filters, thanks for the tips
Hi Chris, kindly answer the many queries raised. It will help your viewers a lot.. Was this video shot with DJi action camera? What microphone did you use??
Hey Chris, great video looks like you’re from Toronto. I’m wondering if you could give me some settings for that same camera as I will be fishing lake Ontario for salmon this summer most of my use for this camera will be on the boat facing the back of the boat fishing salmon, Lake Ontario. Thanks.
One thing about the PolarPro filters is that they're not waterproof on the camera! I have that set and they're great, but they won't keep water from getting into your camera as far as I can tell since the base isn't lensed, so unless the Action is waterproof without its lens on, water will get in through the base for the filters. I'm a big, strong guy and yes, the Action's lens was HARD to get off by hand (but I did it without aid!). Nice vid for a quickie, but kinda PolarPro slanted. Not mentioning their waterproof issues is a bit incomplete.
Agree, there are much better out there and they are not as overpriced. The front lens cover is SPECIFICALLY mentioned in the manual to maintain the water resistance to 11m. The day I see a Polar Pro used on a Hollywood or TV production vs. Tiffen, B+W, Hoya, etc. I might consider them. So far they are the YTuber filter where everything strives to mediocre
silbay the original front lens is waterproof to 11m, not the PolarPro. The PolarPro has a screw-on base that has no lens, just a hole. The filter is magnetically attached to that. NO waterproofed seal.
Greetings from Indonesia, Boss, I have a DJI OSMO action camera, when it is turned on for about half an hour the camera is hot, then condenses on the lens's glasses, so the video results are blurry and a little darker. Well my question, Why is that a factor? Then what is the solution? please help with the explanation thank you before
New to your channel and thanks for al the tips and tricks much appreciated....just got my Osmo Action having so much fun with it still a beginner so looking forward to your videos...all the best from Scotland 🏴 Stay Safe....😷...👍😉😎👌💯
Great video! Thanks! I have the camera for 1 year and I have make a couple of videos and I am pretty happy with it. I like the quality, and the features!
Might sound like a stupid question but....what's the difference between using ND filters and adjusting the shutter speed according with the brightness conditions!?
I was torn between the GoPro Hero 7 and the DJI Osmo Action but after watching a lot of videos and comparisons, I think that the DJI Osmo Action is the best action camera you can get currently. And the rocksteady feature is really impressive considering you were running like crazy in that shot.
Bro. With what cell phone camera in terms of photo quality pixels.... compare or assimilate the camera of this dji? You who have tried phone cameras. I work with waterfalls, river, beachs. Tourism of adventure
They still don’t sell the osmo action in Israel but I already ordered it and my dad is bringing it this summer when he comes to visit so stoked thanks for the tips Chris
3:57 Yeah,at the beginning I thought it can't be removed,it just like the body itself,so it really can...now I know,I can buy some lens to shoot awesome white noise footage on my own channel!thx!
Amazing video, I am definitely going to try these settings. Could you please help me with the microphone you are using with this DJI Osmo? Your voice quality is amazing and I didn't hear any background noise :)
Chris/Pat, have either of you used the 'DJI Osmo Pocket'? How does the 'Action' compare to that for image (vid and stills) quality? Also low light use? Thanks 👍
When you replace the stock UV cover with the PolarPro ND magnetic base, is the lens still protected? Is it also a UV filter? Can I still safety shoot without ND filters when none are required?
Hi! Chris, I would like to ask you, what is your most recommended video ediyor for osmo action? I used filmora9 but some of my video don't play smoothly. Keeps on lagging.
@Chris Hau Please Chris Heu can you help me choose only one lense for my DJI osmo action camera but i don't have enough money to buy the set Note i use the camera with a standing tripod not action
The PolarPro "Vivid 5-Pack" has 4/8/16/32/64PL filters. You can turn them to get a flatter profile (much like an ND filter) or get a polarized shot. Choosing either ND or PL, I went with this set. Only issue is they're not waterproof. They are magnetic and go on a non-lensed mount, so water will get in your camera. So don't take it in the water. Rain is probably okay for the most part.
Great information. I’m new to this. Would like to purchase this camera for UA-cam cinematic shots with some action shooting Musican friends. Is there a setting to give me that static sharp subject with a blurred background/bokeh effect, out off focus lights.
You'll most likely need something with a larger sensor. Action cameras have fairly small sensors. For mainly static shots ( on a tripod), maybe look at DSLRs. For a budget option is got don't want to invest in multiple lenses, check out compact cameras with a one inch sensor.
Hi Chris, thank's a lot for the tips and i was wandering why my footage does not look good although with RS and i am using 4K/60. i also has issues with low light as i can see lots of grain in the video. Thanks
Hum, grain in low light? Wow who would have guessed when the iso goes up the grain goes up. Photography 101 people, light is your friend. No way around it unless you spend the money for the lenses and cameras to low light. Not some $350 action camera with a sensor that is what you find in a home video camera.
Wow..1 min in and blown by that clip. Time for Hero7 to get another update to beat the competition. DJI still trying to chase stuff that's hot out there... :)
Every video I've seen about the DJI Action Camera states that the stock filter is "extremely difficult" to remove. I got my DJI AC a few days ago and I removed the filter with ease. Maybe the real problem here is grip strength? That being said, this is a very informative video. Thank you for the info, guys.
Polar Pro paid video, yes it's heavily Polar pro based and nothing else, so its not about making your videos cinematic its more about selling the nd's, also no one talks about the water seal, the lens is on so tight because the camera is water sealed, you remove the lens and break this seal, it's not guaranteed that your camera is safe from water seeping in and ruining it. And best to shoot in 2.7k, not heard that from anyone with this camera.
Look at what people are doing with RealSteady GO for the GoPro line of cameras compared to Hypersmooth and Rocksteady. Also I believe you can get higher frame rates on the GoPro Black 7.
What are your thoughts on the new DJI Osmo Action?
Chris Hau I like my GoPro 7 black better actually... but awesome tips Chris as usual. You inspired me to do my own vlogs traveling a social entrepreneur. I’m doing both English and Spanish we shall see how it goes. I’m 8 episodes in! Keep the tips coming. Much love 👊🏽
The best up to now. But, it's better wait for the Hero 8.
I have both (something neither of the other two commenters here at this time stated) and I prefer the Action so far. Will always love my Hero7 Black, but with DJI's updates always coming so fast, I can't imagine that the one or two lesser qualities of the Action won't be fixed in firmware updates ASAP. Chris Hau have it since May 21 and for Stock Footage is awesome! I need some ND how about you do a giveaway! 😁🙌
Basically I need to buy it... lol. Been considering a hero 7 for a while. Now I'm convinced the DJI dominates this category :)
Hey Chris, I think you should do a series of these tutorials and name it 'This is Hau'
Hau To's ;)
10 Hau to's of photography and film making
Great that you mentioned places like the desert, cause it is super bright whenever we shoot on open spaces. We're gonna get those filters, thanks for the tips
I replaced my DJI osmo pocket with the DJI osmo action and I absolutely love it. Cool video, Thanks!
hi from the future! I'm going to vlog with my osmo action tomorrow and this was really helpful. Thanks!
Really liked those shoes
Awesome tips bro! I can't wait to get my hands on this camera! :)
Hi Chris, kindly answer the many queries raised. It will help your viewers a lot.. Was this video shot with DJi action camera? What microphone did you use??
I also use DJI Osmo Action.
Other than its struggle in low light, it is quite good for its price 😊
Hey Chris, great video looks like you’re from Toronto. I’m wondering if you could give me some settings for that same camera as I will be fishing lake Ontario for salmon this summer most of my use for this camera will be on the boat facing the back of the boat fishing salmon, Lake Ontario. Thanks.
Man we are so blessed to have such equipments up to the point its affordable and using cinematography techniques. Awesome input Chris!
Wariki right?? The competition between camera companies is such a good thing for consumers. We just keep getting better and better products
Love my go pro 7 black... But that front facing screen 😍😍
Both are great cameras. For me - rocksteady. DJI workflow between this and drones + front face screen = a winner!
This is a game changer for sure, definitely great for on the go and people trying to go above their limits with a small tool
Hey Chris. Great video. If recommended settings are 30fps, are you still editing it in a 24fps timeline?
One thing about the PolarPro filters is that they're not waterproof on the camera! Gr8 camera for all around
George Taramigkos agreed! I love it

Love u sir from india ❤️
Great Tips!
Another tip to take the Osomo cover off.
I used a bike tired tube... And other people have used ruber bands. It works!!
Might sound like a stupid question but....what's the difference between using ND filters and adjusting the shutter speed according with the brightness conditions!?
*Αξίζεις και πάλι .. πολλά ... Like.... Μπράβο ...! (Pendulum )*
Hey Chris, can you make a video on ' how to maintain focus on moving subjects in your videos? '. Thanks.
Definitely excited about the camera. Hoping to pick one up later this year!

MAAAAAAN !!!! AMAZING !!!! :D
How would you rate this vs the gopro hero 7 black
Wow these cinematic shots, I am so amped to improve my videos,Thank you
Ehh! Just trying to have fun with the camera.
So black bars and dark video. Got it
Hey Chris Hau! Which do you think is better ND FILTER by DJI or polar pro? @Chris Hau
Hi Chris, I actually love your videos.
Elazar thanks! I like them too :) 🤓
Oh my god I am gonna get this straight away for my channel thnx cris
Relenkem yesss! It’s so good. :)
Rocksteady is not working efficiently when using ND filter and shutter speed slower than 1/200 - am I right?
Nobody:
Chris Hau: I can do this all day
Captain America
Try a small rubber band instead of the humongous kitchen grip. Trust me it works fab. Easy peezy. Love your vlog. Great work and very informative. 🎥
That also works!

E Y Thanks EY. I’ll take it then that in terms of image quality and low light use quality you consider the Pocket better 👍

I’d love to see you do a Sara Dietschy style intro...
“What is going on, guys? My name is Chris Hau (rhymes with pal)” 😉😂
ohhhh long hair Chris lol
Man time flies 😢😂
Always Great to see you 😇
Great to see you too!
How much post are you doing because of the seemingly lack of saturation on the osmo?
Please post more content, Chris! Informative as always
Amazing, bit rate while exporting?
Nice!!!
Awesome stuff guys! Quick question does the DJI Osmo Action use same mounting system as GoPro or is it different?
Same one!
Nice ad video

@Chris Hau

so which one will make cinematic footage polar pro or dji Osmo action? it's really confusing.
Great tips.
On a budget. ND or PL which should I go with?

@@KaiTiura fantastic. Thanks for the reply.
@@kennishibori my pleasure.
Wow!
Hi Chris, is the cam still waterproof when using those magnetic ND filters?
Hi cris how about for motovlogging. What settings would you recommend? So i can achieve the best footage. Does 2.7k 30fps good?
1080p at 60fps, has rocksteady and looks smooth
Great information. I’m new to this. Would like to purchase this camera for UA-cam cinematic shots with some action shooting Musican friends. Is there a setting to give me that static sharp subject with a blurred background/bokeh effect, out off focus lights.

Nice intro
A rubber band will take off the lens cover as well. Just wrap it around a couple times and you will be amazed at how easy the lens cover comes off.
what NDs are you using from polar pro for the action?
Is the camera still waterproof with the NDs, just out of interest ?
thanks
is the camera still waterproof with those ND filter on?
Man's With the strength of a child .... :)
Which one would you choose between osmo pocket and the action?
Action 100 percent.
Ohhhh thanks ❤️
BREECE PHOTOS hey no problem breece! :)
Nice set of tips! Thabks for making this I can't wait to try a couple of these with mine
What music do you play at the end of the video?
Hi Chris, thank's a lot for the tips and i was wandering why my footage does not look good although with RS and i am using 4K/60. i also has issues with low light as i can see lots of grain in the video.

Hum, grain in low light? Wow who would have guessed when the iso goes up the grain goes up. Photography 101 people, light is your friend. No way around it unless you spend the money for the lenses and cameras to low light. Not some $350 action camera with a sensor that is what you find in a home video camera.
More videos with Pat!!!
Why is RS more efficient at 2.7k 40fps? Apologies for my ignorance.
cool content
Lothar Radscheid thanks! :)
The lens cover it tight to keep it waterproof
Nice video Chris. I had no issue removing the stock filter on my Osmo Action however. Perhaps DJI had the Hulk build the early release cameras? ;D
Wow..1 min in and blown by that clip. Time for Hero7 to get another update to beat the competition. DJI still trying to chase stuff that's hot out there... :)
man huge fan and like your videos. dont take me wrong but I clicked in wanna learn how to shoot better but this is pretty much a polarpro ads man...
May I ask why did you recommend 2.7k but not 4k? Thank you very much
My guess is that the camera is 'cropping' in on the sensor so in effect the stabilizer has more room to work with.
Was this video shot on the Action Cam ? @ 30fps ?!
More Pat
on it!
How do u manage perfect audio in outdoor...? Plz help ?

cinematic AF - btw you like camera conspiracies? he made a video about this pretty funny stuff. sorry to veer off topic I just remembered it : )
My Osmo action didn’t have a tight lens filter at all.
Dope! ✌️
Show us exactly how you color grade
I know this is old, but the clear lens is threaded. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. It isn't going to cut you, unless your fingers are made of butter.
why this 1080p?
I got my filter off first time with just my right hand...i have a vice like grip so i must be awesome lol.
How to take the lens cap off: Wear a rubber glove!
