I never thought I would be excited to watch this. But after watching @BenGravy and your tutorials, DJI Action camera will definitely be my next camera purchase. Good to know you are healing up. Yewww!!!🍍😎✌
Any insight onto ND filters and the shutter settings with them? I've got a set but it's hard to know which one to pull out when. E.g. low light, high light etc.
Would love to see some videos on your video creation process. Things like workflow, editing tips, editing process, thought process going into a video, or just some more behind the scenes of your videos.
I was really scared working 9-5 thinking that action cameras are really tough things to handle but dude you made it look so easy thanks mate I ll be your subscriber rest of my life
Sweeet!!!! Thank you Jackson!!! I need this!! Thank you for providing these DJI cam setting / beginner guides for newbs like myself. I just earner enough to buy my gear (DJI action cams, plus I have my old Nikon D7100). Right now, I'm in the "learning and practicing" phase before I begin my own tube channel and hit the road for action adventures // chasing my childhood dreams of learning n' living action sports! Maybe in the not to distant future we can do a collab or just meet up for a surf, powder or nature adventure sesh...A girl can-dream! 🥰 Anyway, Get well soon! And Thank you again for sharing your knowledge & helping others learn ❤❤❤❤💝
I have just bought this camera to do record myself surfing in POV. Thanks heaps for walking through with these tip’s 🤙🏽 I can’t wait to try it out now.
Camera is great . Great night shots on motorbike as well. I use mine as my dash cam / helmet cam basically so mostly have it on high shutter speeds incase i need to recall an incident or reg plate where blur isnt gonna be useful to me... I know this isnt a gopro vs dji post but Battery life is almost double of my old go pro. And dji is so responsive and stable , then theres the mounting system then front touch screen for quick settings change without need to unmount from helmet etc etc
Thank you for this! I keep going back and forth wether I need to add this camera into my arsenal or not! Heal up soon! Can’t wait to see you getting shots back on snow!
Good video "j". It boils it down quickly without a lot of confusing details, that we novices would be confused with. BTW, I would like to see a video with detailed video stills that actually break down how settings effect my video details. I recently watched another video about this camera that did a side by side comparing 25fps and 48 fps, but still video shots. I couldn't see a measurable difference, and was left wondering if it would make a more noticeable difference in actual action video. That's one thing I'm curious about, among others.
Cheers for the video. In your first video setting you stated to use ND filters to help keep the shutter locked. what ND filter would you use? I have a few on hand
There’s a lot of good ones. I use the DJI stock ones but they tend to fall off pretty easy so I’d recommend looking into other options but to be honest they are the only ones I’ve tried!
Thanks for this. What would be your recommended video settings for scuba diving, I go Cyprus next month and want to be prepared. If you have any settings in mind, I would appreciate you sharing
So I'm new to editing and stuff and want to use my DJI for snowboarding and skiing, now I'm planning on shooting the bulk in either 4k/60 or 4k/120, together with some cool slomo shot in 120 or 240fps slowed down... But what should I set my project at? 30 or 60fps? How do you film in 120fps and edit in lets say 30fps without slowing the footage down 4x?
Film in 4k 120fps on your osmo and then put it into a 29.97fps sequence in your editing software. The footage will play back in normal speed, but when you go to adjust the speed you can slow it down to 20%.
Very informative blog...Jackson love that you put these types of videos out...new camera equipment is very important to how to use and set up. Thank you for helping us to see the Benefits of our new products. Keep up the good work ❤🏄👣🌊🙏👍🏾😎
Hey man just got my Action 4 so this is a great help. Easy with the recovery. Been there. Done that. Take your time.. Hey make more vids for dubs like me...
Hi, can you pause recording on the DJI action 4 then resume? So to be able to record different scenes as a one file without having to mess around with editing.
Your footage with this camera looks amazing! I see really good details (for an action cam) and much less warping than from other people. Definitely will follow your advice)
This was helpful, just got a action 4, going to start making dirt bike videos, I’d like to see the basics of how to edit videos, that would be a pretty cool tutorial video.
I want to buy a camera to video my son playing lacrosse. Would want to then edit video to make high lite reels. Do you think the DJI would be a good choice? or another suggestion?
Hi I saved all you recommended settings into my profile and have no more room for low light. Any recommendations? Also really liked horizontal balance, don't you use this setting? This is the easiest demonstration I've seen Utube! Thank you so much!
Aloha~i just got.my action5, switched over from many years of experiences w/gp9,10,12...after first video recording in outdoor sunny sky my video is too dark...i have chekced the setting but not sure what am i doing wrong? thx.
what ND filter should i use if i were to shoot in wakeboarding scenarios? with shutter lock itself, does the result come out better than the motion blur effect in Capcut? which preset of yours do u suggest for wakeboarding? thank u! 😃
Awesome video. Would you recommend this camera for regular vlogging (unfortunately) No action involved, lol! Just daily vlogging.. BTW love this video.
Hi There, What lens set would you recommend for the Action 4 K&F Concept 4 pack or Telesin Lens filter set or Neweer filter set I am a beginner and I do not want to spend unnecessarily
Been loving my action 4! just wish you could name the custom presets and their were few more, With sets for normal night modes, Day and night Long Exposures, Fast action and what not i feel i filled them up quite quickly haha
Loved and needed the walkthrough, I have a question though. When you said you set the camera to +1 sharpening and noise reduction, I'm confused by this because when shooting in RAW (it may not be the same as Dlog) aren't those settings ignored?
It's not able to shoot in RAW. In case of D-Log 10 Bit it's using H.265 to encode the video stream. But I have a hard time increasing sharpness and NR as well. But more because 0 is already to strong to my eyes.
Is there anyway to video upside down without having to upright it in an editor? The mount in my car has the cam upside down. A little frustrating watching playbacks and it is indeed upside down although I have it set to video upright. LOL make sense? Also I use iMovie but do you recommend an easy video app?
Recieved mine 3 days ago and cant find the mimo app for android. Do i have to switch carriers (iphone) to get this thing going or just return it for something simpler
Hi Jackson, how do I switch screens ? Like oh my iPhone I can tap screen to capture myself and tap again to capture some action away from me when recording but I struggling doing it with Osmo action 4. I am still a beginner. Thank you
Hey there! That’s because your shooting in 120fps and then transferring the clip to IOS which will automatically give the clip slow motion. You can either export the clip in 24fps and put it on your IPad or edit the clip on your iPad and just remove the slow motion bars 🙌🏽
Hello Jackson, I have just watched your fantastic video. I have been using my IPhone 6s Plus to record all my UA-cam content, but the camera on my phone has just started the 'death wobble'. I am looking for a super simple, almost 'point and go' like my IPhone camera to keep making my videos. All I need to do is record myself working on my bench and talking to camera at my table. I use a Blue Yeti mic when I'm talking to camera at my table. would you be able to recommend me a camera that would be as good (or better) than my now dead IPhone 6? Any help would be fantastic from you, maybe you could have a quick look at one of my videos to see what I do for UA-cam? A quick note, I hate tech, so the more simple the better and I'd like it packaged like a action camera rather than a delicate 'proper' camera . Thank you very much🙂
Thanks for this. Would like to know if you have a low light mode settings recommendation... Also with your Ultrawide and Slow Mode. You changed the FPS, but didn't change the Shutter Is the rule for shutter being double that of FPS, a minimum recommendation? Cheers
I need to buy this camera! 🔥🙌
Thanks just got one of these as my first action cam and knew nothing about setting it up, i now know a little more and have it set up. 👍👌🤘✌🖖🤙🍻
Awesome! Just received my A4, did all your set ups, and bought your LUTs! Can't wait to play with this! Thank you!!

I have One doubt Can We Zoom In Normal Video? in DJI Action 4?
Yeah
Any insight onto ND filters and the shutter settings with them? I've got a set but it's hard to know which one to pull out when. E.g. low light, high light etc.
If it’s mid day and sunny and I want 50 shutter I’m pulling out the ND64. If it’s cloudy ND32

just ordered today, arrives tomorrow. video will help alot. dope stuff.
Good video. I would suggest spending more time on sd cards. Tried using ones I had for my go pro but no good. Need fast ones.
Such an informative video. Cheers. 👍😁
Just swapping from gopro to oa4 so thank you for the setting assistance I will be sure to try this on an upcoming trip
your footage is incredible
Nailed it! No other video tutorials are needed. I'm a big fan now. Thank you!

Hi Jackson tank for the great tips. can you tell me what is the best setting for scuba diving about 20-40 m/ 65-130 ft tanks

Got one today😊. Excited and looking forward to make some videos.

Hey man! No, you can’t :/
@@JacksonLebsack thanks for your response. Do you know of any other camera's like this where you can pause a recording?

Thanks you bro. It really helpt. 🎉🎉🎉
Considering buying one. Think I should wait for the 5?
can i also use this settings for the dji osmo 3. It's good to know that you are healing! I missed you in the SICKOS videos.

What settings would you recommend for best 4k street vlogging ?
How do you know what ND filter you need. Plan on using the Action 4 for my motorcycle.
Hey man, which ND filters do you use? I’m having trouble deciding which to buy🤙🏼
It's worth noting that Action 4 supports stabilization using Gyroflow
Great tutorial, it's confusing though every so many channels recommend different settings 😂😂😂😂. Btw why are the downhill so see scarey 😂😂😂
I am looking to buy this camera for my upcoming cruise. Is there any selfie stick with a shutter button for photo???
I was about to buy an Insta 360 Ace Pro, but after the firmware update of Action 4 i will buy one of this.

yes
