Right there with ya. More boarding..and def. FPV (just need some better weather). Snowboard 🏂 footage is looking great on 360 camera. I’ve still been using GoPro 10 for boarding but 360’s looking fun! 👍👍
Would love to see a tutorial on your color correction process with GoPro/how you make it match your mirror less footage. I think that would be very helpful!
Thanks bro. Just picked up my first ever GoPro (the Hero 10 Black) and have been testing it out. My favorite settings are as follows: 5.3K 24fps, Bit Rate High, Sharpness Medium, Color Flat, White Balance Auto, Lens Linear, EV -0.5, ISO 100/400 and HyperSmooth High. I've found, with good light (golden hour type), those settings give excellent results straight out of camera. But, due to the flat color profile there is plenty of color adjustment left if needed. The 'natural' and 'vibrant', in my opinion so far, look bad and remove all form of dynamic range. ✌️
@@mattih Dude when you rode that hovercraft over water, you killed it..." edit ELECTRIC SURFBOARD" You are the first person I've seen on a OneWheel and you killed it. Now you're surfing over ice and that looks so fun. I realize you're incredible at editing but I certainly get the impression that you're a natural outdoor athletic type guy. I'm really motivated by you guys. I purchased the GT just because you guys made that look so dang fun. Thanks for the premium content and education.
360 is the best 💪 for removing distortion, sometimes i like to use the Linear mode built-in right into the gopro. it's not as super wide, but still pretty wide
Your original GoPro video was what brought me to your channel and it seems crazy that I've already been watching your videos since 2018! Keep it up, I love what you're doing with your channel and clothing lines!!
Love the video, Matti! Now that we have some log shooting options in both GoPros and DJI action cams, do you recommend using those? They also seem to only map to Rec709… would love to see a tutorial from you on working with action cams in HDR (Rec2020/2100) projects!
Although I totally see the advantages of the Insta360, I don't know why but I am more attracted to the GoPro, its quality is spectacular for an action camera. Love U Matti!
nice one. I'm using my gopro strapped to the cliff all the time for rock climbing. works a charm. thinking of upgrading from the 8 to the 10. or maybe getting the zv1. also love how robust the gopros are. mine have taken some HEAVY falls and still keep on truckin!
will be using my GoPro 8 a lot in March, hope I manage to get it producing quality content 🤣 recording 4K and then downsampling to 1080p to hide minor flaws and make for an easier to edit+post workflow for youtube 👌
As a skier I’m very torn behind using action cameras, the utility is great don’t get me wrong and they definitely come in handy in the right application but I find the POV/360 cam videos to be boring unless there’s an element of story involved if it’s purely action cam. Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some amazing videos shot with just action cams but I feel there’s just to many people using the GoPro app to over-saturate this genre imo. These tips definitely help make these cameras still viable options in helping them stand out and increasing quality.
Please, please do a video showing your Insta360 editing workflow. Currently I'm using the GoPro Reframe plugin inside of Premiere, but what does that workflow look like for you inside of FinalCut? I'd love to switch and this is something I haven't figured out.
Great advice sir! I'm using an Action 2, and even tho the new cam makes the scenes more cinematic, a good positioning and a few neat tricks can greatly improve the shots by a hundred!
Thanks for the video matti!! I was hoping that I’d use my insta 360 for my vlogs, And so far am happy with the results. Will definitely try the defishing thing and make the videos better. 🙂
any tips on matching a gopro with iphone footage? i shoot flat on the gopro, but the iphone footage has a pretty identifiable color profile. i've read mixed reviews about filmic pro for shooting flat on an iphone... would that help combine the two?
The 360 is cool but the only problem is the wonky fisheye on most of the shots.. is there a camera that shoots linear kind of 360 video? Thank you for the awesome video though..
Amazing views! Love all the tips and tricks! I was looking into getting a 360 camera soon, was hoping GoPro would come out with the MAX 2........Haven't seen any news on this though🙃
Action cams aren't so bad. I shot 50/60 videos on my channel using my Insta360 One R. Even the onboard audio was okay for run and gun vlogging. Just my opinion 🙂 Thanks for the video Matti
Downsides to 360 are more storage needed and takes extra time going through footage to get the views you want. At least the insta360 studio has improved. Let’s go heli boarding across BC.
Comparing your $6,000 camera setup and the GoPro9 is not very fair. Considering the price of $450 GoPro9 has cool quality and stabilization is very close to the $6,000 setup, which is not affordable for beginner bloggers. I think the GoPro9 is optimal in quality and price, with proper editing and color correction.
I love these types of videos, but I really felt like this one fell into more of the "not really about traditional action cameras" and really felt like you were telling us you can't make action cameras cinematic unless you're using a 360 camera or an FPV drone. Was really hoping for more tips on traditional action camera usage.
Man I wanna do more FPV asap! Also more snowboarding plz and thank you haha.
Please do!! This looks amazing!!!
Great looking video dude!
please talk more about DJI FPV, I just brought and wanna know more
Right there with ya. More boarding..and def. FPV (just need some better weather). Snowboard 🏂 footage is looking great on 360 camera. I’ve still been using GoPro 10 for boarding but 360’s looking fun! 👍👍
The FVP stuff is ALWAYS amazing!! What’s the advantage of using a GoPro instead the camera on the DJI FPV?
Would love to see a tutorial on your color correction process with GoPro/how you make it match your mirror less footage. I think that would be very helpful!
Definitely agree with this! A GoPro colour correction video would be awesome
I agree.
Plus One!
This plz
Hell yeah💪💪

Matti is just really athletic. The dude makes everything look easy and fun.
Hahaha I feel like this is a huge lie but thanks 😂

awesome guide for beginners, really appreciate your work mate!! Luc ✌😀

This is so helpful!!! I almost exclusively use the Go pro right now.
Awesome 😊
Effortless filming man! GoPro still paving the way for action cameras 🔥
🙏🏻
An action camera is a great first camera. There are so many obstacles to work around I learned so much trying to fix them or make it look better.
I was about to color grade my GoPro footage thanks!
🙏🏻
Lights, Camera, Action.... hehe! Great Tutorial! 😛
Thanks Matti, perfect timing for this video as my Christmas present to myself was my first GoPro and these tips will come in handy.
Awesome Video! Thanks for the help!!!
You’re welcome 😊 🙏🏻
Love to see that Horseshoe Resort!
ANOTHER great upload Matti!👌
Yeah, CINEMATIC! I'm all in on the Insta360 -- Thanks, Matti
The intro is lit! Love it!
Cinematic GOPRO YESSSSSSSSS
Travel Feels 😊

It be really interesting to hear your opinion on long format cameras versus cameras that can only film up to around 30 minutes
its always fun to see u do this action cam vlogs matti
Although I totally see the advantages of the Insta360, I don't know why but I am more attracted to the GoPro, its quality is spectacular for an action camera.
Love U Matti!
I’d love to see a video on your GoPro and Insta360 One X2 settings just to see if there’s anything you change specifically in either one
What settings do you use on the insta360 one x2? Do you shoot in a manual mode? What color profile do you use? How do you fix overexposing in the sun?
nice one. I'm using my gopro strapped to the cliff all the time for rock climbing. works a charm. thinking of upgrading from the 8 to the 10. or maybe getting the zv1. also love how robust the gopros are. mine have taken some HEAVY falls and still keep on truckin!
Matti can’t thank you enough for all these tutorials dude, super helpful as a newbie in the UA-cam world 🙏🏻
Thanks Matti, very helpful Tips.
Matti you're so athletic
Thanks for sharing! Got really useful tips here. Been enjoying the cinematic potentials of the DJI Action 2.
will be using my GoPro 8 a lot in March, hope I manage to get it producing quality content 🤣 recording 4K and then downsampling to 1080p to hide minor flaws and make for an easier to edit+post workflow for youtube 👌
Love that intro ❤️😍
Got a lighter Action 2 on my FPV! Shots are fantastic!
Any content you do is really rad!
Thank you!
The 360 seems like an awesome piece of equipment to use!
that intro 👌
😂 LOVING that fisheye effect. That made me laugh, that did!
Love the snowboard foootage! Would love to see more of that!
Well, as always,,, you inspire me to create footage, with my 360 camera
How is it possible that I had this thought and this pops in my subscription feed
Brought a hero 10 for capturing BTS for wedding photography. Thanks for the tips!
Awesome video Matti!!
Thanks man 😊
"It's just film making, it's not that serious!" Best. Quote. Ever. You should do a video titled that.
caught it a minute into upload. lets goooooo
Earlyyyy 🙌🏻

Hey Matti, What is the best setting of DJI osmo action? What is the best setting for GoPro hero 8?
these are some really good tips matt!
🙏🏻
Hi Matti. Thanks for this video! Any tips about frame rate or other settings to help the footage look more cinematic? Thanks!
GoPro makes an awesome plugin for premiere that has fisheye correction! It’s called fx reframe it’s the same one people use for 360 footage
🙌🏻
Love these tutorials/guides!!
Awesome video love to see

What pole did you use with your action camera?
Great video as always Matti!! 👍
currently my two camera that i use
Amazing tips
what about frame-rates? What frame rate did you use on the snowboarding videos? Great video!
Woahh I was suprised to see an uncompressed clip at 2:27
feel like the exploding car analogy, is from experience haha
Wow, these images do look spectacular. Thanks for sharing this with us. I am learning so much from your channel
Thanks for the video matti!! I was hoping that I’d use my insta 360 for my vlogs,
And so far am happy with the results. Will definitely try the defishing thing and make the videos better. 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing your skills that ALWAYS help me up my film making game!!!
loveandpeace.

You gotta get that Mango Bubly.. Only for a limited time!!
Oh wow, this is the same video idea I first watched in your channel, and I have been a subscriber since then 😁

There's that evil magic word again... "Cinematic" lol great tips my friend!
The word we do not speak of 😂
The 360 is cool but the only problem is the wonky fisheye on most of the shots.. is there a camera that shoots linear kind of 360 video? Thank you for the awesome video though..
Wow 15 secs in 😅❤️❤️

Nice video. ✌️
Hi sir big fan your cinematic video nice
great video............
I wanna know how many of you actually remember Matti’s OG GoPro Tutorial ?
Does this stuff apply to older GoPros as well?
100% 🙌🏻
Even If it's the first go pro or a off brand action camera?
Good advice yeah I loved using my Insta360 but I broke it so back to the GoPro
I would like to buy your Lightroom Presets but in the description does not say if they work with mobile Lightroom.
Action cams aren't so bad. I shot 50/60 videos on my channel using my Insta360 One R. Even the onboard audio was okay for run and gun vlogging. Just my opinion 🙂 Thanks for the video Matti
Sure it can work but image and sound would be way better even on a zv1
@@mattih absolutely agree :)
Almost first lol. Crazy. Also stoked to watch this one
Wish I had a 360 camera, but for now my Hero9 does the job.
I have the same issue with the stitch lines
Downsides to 360 are more storage needed and takes extra time going through footage to get the views you want. At least the insta360 studio has improved. Let’s go heli boarding across BC.
Matti or Anyone! What mountain is that opening cinematic on?
I’n one of my shorts I used the fisheye I used it to give the illusion of looking through a peephole
I have a challenge for you Matti can you add a dslr on a drone (I have seen others but I want to see your take on it)
😍
Thank you 😍 I can't believe
because when I transfer a video from the GoPro to the computer in slow motion or time lapse it loses that effect
Hello Matti
The wide angle make it more dangerous looks
Broke my Hero 7 and never bought another lol but advice noted 👊🏼

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again
MATTIE do you ever get mad ?
HIY!! we have the same amount of subscribers!! Except yours say M at the end and mines says K 😅😅😂😂
