I luckily got a new Brompton just before covid exploded worldwide, but in my shopping process looking for a new black edition in rocket red I came across a nice website in perfect English with prices in USD. They had numerous special edition bikes for fair prices which existed nowhere else on the internet. It didn't take much digging to figure out they were based in Indonesia even though all the site media was western
Brompton is booming like crazy in Indonesia, both limited edition and standard are selling like a hot cake and the price goes up to 3x the official Indonesian retailer price (yes it is >200% profit margin, and yes a lot of people are still buying it) Stock from official seller is already empty since beg February, unofficial Seller is sourcing the bike all around the world most of them is sell with pre-order format. Due to this hype you can find so many fake Brompton seller online and their stealing the picture from other people. Fyi 2019 chpt v2 open price is $7500ish and it is open for auction and will end up in around $9500ish Explore 2nd hand mint condition price $7000 S6L standard is $3000 Demand over suply, price goes up, scammer increase.

It’s good to have you here. It wasn’t anything intentional, it goes back to the first video that I made, the Dash just came out from my mouth. From then on my friends were just dashing with me as a joke. So I kept it. I Guess it’s a way to say see you on the next one. Dash.

Hey, Victor. This is the popped out one, I just had to address it. The purple frame was a special color that I did for my daughter, she requested a purple with grey and I pick the tone of it. I am yet to build this one up. The yellow sand sitting behind had a long story on it. That one will be my next Brompton to build. The 2 holes were just a signature of it. I actually use simulation software to see far we can drill before we are short at the integrity.
Very good video, making a very good point. However had you considered that there could be an alternative answer. Judging by youtube channels there are lots of Brompton clones springing up to fill the current gap caused by the worldwide surge in demand. If you had gone through with the transaction it is possible that you might have received 2 x clones with a close matching colour scheme. Just a thought. P.s. One of the videos advertising a Brompton clone has a copyright "watermark" on it to deter folk from copying the video. That's five star irony :-)
Update; I've just been looking at a UA-cam video of a "Brompton" with the Brompton decals on the main tube, but strangely, no manufacturer's plate which contains the serial and frame numbers, and is normally located behind the seat post tube. Go figure !!!!!!
Now I don't use the Scam Site: Facebook at all, as I do prefer a little privacy for my info, which Facebook collects galore, and sells. So I couldn't imagine buying from a Facebook Store at all. ;-)
And I don't use PayPall, as my International Credit/Debit cards gives the same kind of payment, without an intermediate operator - and assures that I'm able to get my money back from the Bank, if I haven't got the goods.
Hi, Brompton has stopped taking new orders since 09.26 according to my local bike shop(s) because there are way too many back orders. Do you think the level of quality would decrease on the new bikes that are made around this time? Do you recommend submitting the orders in 6 months or so when they aren’t rushing the bikes out?
I recently saw a CHPT3 for 4000 Euros on Ebay... could be real, even still, some people are just assholes. For that reason exactly Brompton should stop even offering these ltd editions. People either buy to resell or you got scammers. Who uses a 2 or 3 grand ltd edition in public on regular basis? It's just a trophy at that point and brompton shouldnt support that.

I'm really sorry on behalf of Indonesian people. This tragedy, I would say, should not happen during this crisis. It is been a huge demand for Brompton around the world and one of the amazing thing is people in Indonesia even willing to spend +50% of the Brompton original price tag to buy the new one. Some of the special/limited edition like used CHPT3 even reach above 7K USD.
All the places got good people. We are all in hard time now. I just don't want to see anyone who wasted there money. As far as I know, a number of people had made inquires with the "Brompton Junction". Not sure if they were able to hit and sale though.

Just about everything on Facebook marketplace is a scam or a payement scam ( we send a delivery driver with cash etc )…

I would be suspicious at the price quoted being 2100 USD rather than $2100.

NYCE Wheels Bike shop in New York is closed permanently. I saw it on the website. I don’t know what they did with the bikes.
