I literally explained this to a friend this Saturday past who was wondering why he was not as fast as me , and I was saying it's all about the line and how much momentum he kills when he brakes offline to make the corner, now lots of 'those' corners being offline adds up around a lap. I said when it comes to consecutive corners he'll need to sacrifice or commit to a line and take it without too many micro corrections because corners with straights especially if they're long have to be priority to get right .
i can confirm i used to get mad and never understood how people in go karting and in racing games kept passing me and i always ended up last until i figured this stuff out i never ever ever knew about a racing line as much as i love cars weird right lol
Hella underrated Amazing editing and quick straight to the point style videos. Like a yt short as a video Would love to see longer style in depth videos a bit more often tho
Dang, I was hoping on advice to FEEL my speed when sim racing. I always have to look down a my speed when taking corners. Even when I'm driving the car I drive IRL.
Racetracks are very very wide and if your FOV is set right it'll feel slow. Either turn on motion blur or drive on more narrow tracks and you'll feel like you're going faster
i know it's not a option for some people but vr makes speed feel much better but still even then it feels like your going 20-30mph slower than you would in real life however the 3D depth of the track is where it shines the most, i believe a 3 monitor setup could help if possible because it could cover your peripheral vison in terms of speed. lastly try realllly tight tracks with lots of details on the sides of the road they feel much more quicker than a blank strip of road
could give some tips on finding brake zones, and how to use the brakes in general? it always takes me multiple crashes or too early brakes before i find the right place with a new car on a new track.
If you’re practicing (especially first time out in a new car), drive it like you would in real life. If I got into a race car irl, I guarantee I wouldn’t fly off the track T1; I wouldn’t want to hurt myself or the car, so I’d take it easy. But how many people in sims fly off the track lap after lap in practice? Drive like it’s real and smile cause it’s not.
yeah that and i can’t feel anything i can SEE weight transfer but i cant feel it. i think of driving as two edges left outside and right outside but i cant feel the edge in a sim unless i spend an absurd amount of money 😢 idk im struggling bc the longer i race on the streets the higher the chance of loosing my license will be 😓
You had me doubting when you said "races are won on the straightaways" and lost me completely when you said "cornering speed doesn't matter". F1 left the chat completely.
Seems perfectly applicable to F1 actually. He said the straightways are where you win, and that's largely determined by exit speed, which is determined by your lines on the corners. Pretty straightforward and true across the board.
This is quite obvious but a lot of people learn this the hard way. Remember to always take the line that prepares you for the next corner or straight my fellow vroom vroom enjoyers. As always, great video and editing.
That's how I think about it... Fast sectors =/= Fast laptimes, corner to corner or A to B is fast sure but in the long run whoever is taking the lines from A to C will have the faster times.
I have a my career race 100% distance in F1 22 in Monza Season 2. And I'm running a higher downforce level compared to everyone else, reason Ascari. Had trouble on the exit spinning. Qualified p13.
@@fentwiktor it perfect AI for me. My teammates qualified p10 or 11. I'm just struggling with that one corner and it's not great that I am working with a controller and not a wheel so being smooth on Ascari is even harder
Huh, The most i learned in 1:30 mins ever in my life.... Life lesson. If you look too far you'll be slow. Look a little closer and sacrifice a little time. It'll pay off later
Do you know how to improve your speed on uphill touge races? I find myself sliding into the guardrail on uphill touge runs while taking a racing line similar to a standard downhill
Didn't watch the video yet 90% of the time it's the camera being very tightly locked in place and no motion blur at all which both is very unnatural. That's why 200kmh in NFS prostreet feels like 400kmh in Gran Turismo 6 on the same wide Freeway.

Dude the production value is off the hook on this, and it's a quick video with condensed information. I think that's worth a sub.

I also find messing around with neckfx helps with sense of speed, you can add more motion to the drivers head and make roads seem faster
Best sim racing education channel 8-)
Race tracks are drag strips connected by corners.. my god that's true 😀

Wich sim game is this ?
Does anyone know the song that was playing in the background of the video?
Turbo goes boom no such problem
Where did you get that type r civic mod?

Can you do a driving in the rain videos or video?
are there any sims that actually have decent rain physics and dry lines that form?

its almost like you missed the entire point of the video and have no idea how to set a fast lap

@@bruh1_11 he's saying that you need to consider corner exit speed as the raw handling of the car is not the only factor in setting a fast lap

high downforce on a track where you're at full throttle 75% of the time? xd
