Came for the racing, stayed for the geography lesson. Sensational as always mate.
I stayed for the philosophy 😂
I stayed for dry humour ngl
🧢🧢
And I stayed for the Britsh English lesson which I've been studiyng. Thanks mate.
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congrats on the child, Steve! They seem to be taking after you and have a strong racing career ahead of them!
They are so cute together.
@@kaffe4524 well this is absolute Bonkers.
SuperGT: "I don't want to take a guess how many miles away that is."
Also SuperGT: "I am going to guess 700 miles."
Wait until he reads some these comments proving it's more than double what he guessed. Even his guesses finish in 6th. LOL.
@@xCudz Sorry to burst your bubble but (roughly) 900 miles isn't double of 700 miles.
@@zerotofifty Sorry to burst your bubble, but "The air travel (bird fly) shortest distance between United Kingdom and Portugal is 1,812 km= 1,126 miles."
So still not quite double, but you're wrong as well.
Driving wise, it's over 1500 miles. Therefore, more than double.
@@xCudz Yh I thought it was more than 700 miles 😂 I didn’t know exactly though
@@xCudz Sorry to burst your bubble, but 1800 km / 1100 miles is from the center of both countries, distance between borders is just 902 km / 561 miles
I love how he just drifts off of his own thoughts and starts saying random things 😂 its the best
Mate random question is the voice over live or not?
@@teverwelsch9114 its not live
@@praesodymium Thanks!
1:49 Roughly 1100 miles (1800 km), 1500 miles (2400 km) by car.
Super GT absolutely done and dusted by viewer in the geography department.
I came down here expecting this type of comment ty.
Sent him to the distance realm brev
Except that its almost EXACTLY 700 miles from Southampton to the northern region of Portugal, as the crow flies. (As measured on google maps, using what essentially would be the great circle route) So I think @SuperGT just introduced you to a new friend.. Barry R.
@@lruss2004 I mean if we are going to do pedantry, let’s do it properly. From a northerly point in Portugal (just north-east of Rio de Onor) to Lizard Point is just under 555.9 miles, as the crow flies. Or. To be reaaaaaly pedantic, Pednathise Head to Cevide is just under 539.5 miles. But good try!
@@tompstomps I also got 539.5 miles 👍
700 miles was a really good blind guess.
Brands Hatch reminds me of Limerock. They look easy at first glance but they're actually pretty tricky to nail laps repeatedly on.
Paddock hill gets me almost everytime lol. Especially if I'm in a car I'm not familiar with
@@toddthezondalover645 I suck for names but that first right hander over the hill after the start/finish is a make or break turn for me. Playing on controller it's pretty hard to get a soft and smooth weight transition during braking. I've had quite a few tank slappers coming out of that thing.
@@michaelallen2501 That's the one I mean. I'm a controller veteran, been playing on a pad since I was 4 (now 23) and I'm still very inconsistent there. Very hard to judge the apex, and I usually drop my left wheels in the sand trap and hit the wall.
@@michaelallen2501 glad to know it's not just me who just can't seem to nail that turn consistently lol, it's always fun though
First time I tried limerock in iracing I thought the same thing
1:35 This is the very moment I was compelled to smash the "like" button. I've made casual friends from across the planet exclusively in GT7, & it's nothing short of magnificent when you think about it.
Well done, as always, & cheers.
I used to hate Brands Hatch because I sucked at it. Thanks to this daily race I've put a lot of time into it and I'm loving it right now!
That’s great man! The practice is worth it!
@@darkshinobi3030 Yeah, crazy what I've been missing all this time by avoiding it like the plague, lol.
I’ve learned so many tracks from daily races and wanting to be competitive in them. Where is that sophy AI though 😩 i like offline racing better sometimes but the ai is so slow it’s just not fun at all
@@Three-Trece3 Can't even call it AI, they are just scripts. I'm only missing the Nordschleife CE, last track to learn and gold, otherwise I'm done with the single player aspect sadly and online is a mixed bag.
I always love when Steve starts rambling about something else, don’t change Steve 😂
Hello Steven, just wanted to say love your videos so much I ordered a ps5 early this year which will arrive in a couple week and i cant wait to play gt7. Thanks for the continuous content you keep dropping, they are hella good. :)
I'm gonna say, going to pit in at the last lap was a bad call, if using a strategy i'll do it at 2 or 3 lap before so we have time to catch on to lead the race. Anyway love the video, fun as always to watch and learns.
I've always loved Gran Turismo series, I even bought myself a copy of GT7. However lately I don't really have the drive or time to play GT or any games TBH. But I always appreciate your videos on the topic! Great vid, as always :)
have you thought on why is that?
@@wtfuredead because
@@rjj00 forza is better (than anything/GT)?
i think it depends on personal preferences.
@@rjj00 I'm sorry, but Forza is just worse than Gran Turismo
4:14-4:32 As one example amongst a lot of others for why I really enjoy your commentary so much! Thank you, Steve! :)
An absolute delight, what cracking racing there was to be had throughout especially in the last one, excellent side by side through a sequence of corners, GG to you both. It was also nice to see my friend and SSRT team mate Golden Botto finish just one place behind you in the penultimate race.
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🏎✅
This is why I love your channel mate. You show racing. It's not all about winning. It's about sportsmanship and having a good time.
I calculated your podium rate since this channel started
*29%*
"The total straight line distance between Lisbon and London is 1585 KM (kilometers) and 400 meters. The miles based distance from Lisbon to London is 985.1 miles. This is a straight line distance and so most of the time the actual travel distance between Lisbon and London may be higher or vary due to curvature of the road ."
Been a fan of the channel for a while now, thanks for always being positive and honest. Your videos have really helped me progress as a driver!
Greetings from a Portuguese currently in Portugal, thanks for honouring my country
Nice one! Never got to try this combo because of work out of town, but enjoyed watching it. The two different strategies available spiced things up and a nice change from the usual flat out drive-like-you-stole-it races 😃
Steve is so specific about his switcharoos its hillarious
I love when we get good strategy options I found that the no stop was the way to win
Brands was a great track with the Gr4's last week. The old switcheroo having mixed blessings for you.... learned so much about the geographical makeup of Europe too ... what more could we ask for.... Can't wait to see your Watters races
England and Portugal have the oldest alliance known to exist in recorded history. From the 1600's til today. Just a bit of trivia for you guys. And the Portuguese player name was slow valsa. Quite fitting since he was overtaken xD
I really like brands hatch on the game and in real life. When i went there to see the BTCC it was a great track to watch racing at. Also amazing video as always Steve!👍😁
Was really good to have some genuine strategy options for this race.
Being consistently slow meant I could still do ok using the Megane Trophy on a no-stop - gaining a good 3 places in a strong evening lobby, and up to 7-8 places in weaker mixed lobbies at either end of the day.
Brands Hatch is definitely my favourite real circuit in GT7 with two good layouts that suit many types of car. Group 4 on this circuit is so much like BTCC. Last weeks Daily race was excellent and I increased my driver rating by taking some victories. I went with the Suzuki Swift and a no stop strategy on Hards. Good to see you back Super GT, your videos are always entertaining.
Came to watch a GT pro in action; stayed for the great commentary. What an awesome content creator you are mate, so good. My favourite part of GT7 is that it encourages professionalism and rewards solid race driving. You're constantly striving to improve yourself and that really never gets boring. Looking forward to devouring more of your content, thanks
From my measurements on Google earth, the UK and Portugal appear to be about 556 miles at the minimum, and around 1,520 at the maximum.
I would love to see you and Digit race from the back of the grid as you both are great drivers
This is one of my favourite combinations. Brands hatch is always fun especially if your not super high level since people make tons of mistakes and theres usually lots of overtaking. Difficult track to nail but for some reason still very fun.
9:53 ngl gives “THROUGH GOES HAMILTON” vibes
i think your videos are kind of relaxing to watch and you always manage to get a lough out of me. great work super gt man
Brands Hatch will always hold a special place in my heart, because it was the first race track I ever went to (for a euronascar race) Great video as always Steve :)
I had an awesome race yesterday with gr3 cars. Running with top 4 and it was awesome door to door, 3 wide and great hard racing. No wrecks, no run offs, and no penalties.
Fantastic stuff. That was a great final race too. Keep doing what you're doing.
Hey I remember racing you back on forza. I always fluttered the throttle a bit much. Mr Leslie chow. Very cool seeing you work your way up man!
Brand new to sim racing and found your channel. Already binged all of your past livestreams. Cheers from salt lake city
Brands Hatch is a really fun circuit to drive. Not a lot of straights, but I still find there's a decent amount of overtaking opportunities considering the layout of the circuit.
I’ve learnt a lot about race tactics and strategy from your commentary. Good stuff.
Love brands hatch, local to me, great for viewing and great for racing. Love when the Caterham's are there
Brands hatch is my local circuit as well. Such an incredible circuit, I love the corners, especially paddock hill bend (turn 1) and druids (turn 2). But when you get a perfect lap in, it’s very satisfying and rewarding.
Yeah it's mine too. I was there for a track thete on. Drove a BM4 and a formula 4 single seater. Was fantastic!!
its nice to get a thankyou right at the start of the video, and its a a tradition that should continue but when you said that steve it made me want to say no, thank YOU steve. NOW CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS!! IM TALKING LIKE 2-3 A WEEK!! whoops, what i meant was this is really nice content and i would LOVE to see more of it!! love from AUS!
Loved racing Brands. Did a 1:30.1 on controller which I thought was decent. I love those 2 right handlers where you cut the corner across the top of the hill.
you were feeling silly during this commentary hahaha, always enjoy your content Steve. You've single handedly gotten me into sim racing, cant wait for when Im able to get a new console and hop on GT7!
you wanted a thought on BH... it's a nice technical track, and I have trouble with it on group 3 cars because of that blind right after the SF straight, and also that middling right into the downhill complex on the backside. all-in-all, I appreciate that the technical skill is about managing grip on throttle.
1052 miles from Brands Hatch to Portugal border lol. 2 years ago we'd planned a month all around Europe, coming for the first time from NZ for my 50th birthday. Course we all know what happened 2 years ago and now I'm still not certain Europe actually exists lol. Cheers Steve. Great vid yet again
Awesome stuff!!! I've always hated Brands Hatch, I just haven't ever been able to string together my best on all of the sectors in one single lap. I always end up ruining the lap when I try.
it was the first track i really practiced in gt sport multiplayer so itll always have a nostalgic feeling for me
The closest two points between the UK and Portugal is 558 miles as the crow flies. If the crow flies straight that is.
just so you know: ur great. your videos save my day. i am never as relaxed as when i am watching your vids. keep it on! i live your content.
Another great video with some respectful, clean racing. As always, sublime commentary and thanks for the geography lesson
Hours and hours of watching this man commentate his own races and this is probably the goofiest I’ve ever heard him 😂 much love from Texas
Great video as always! Keep up the great work SuperGT!
I played gt sport consistently for about 4 years & now gt7 consistently. You make it look so easy!
I've been watching you now for a couple of years and I KNOW I've learned more about world flags and geography from you than my years in high school
Just subbed - great video! Love your commentary
Nice job Steve .. last race was nice indeed! cheerz
I love your videos man, keep it up!🔥
700.... that's like half way across Texas.
my joy for the week, Super GT's GT7 Vlog. :)
Another Racing Lesson! Congrats for your content,I hope to drive like you sometime.
Another good race to watch, thank you Super GT!
3:16
Beautiful turn supergt!
Thank you for this 2 races, I hope to meet you again on the next dailies.
Awesome as always, would like to see more daily uploads & where do you live stream these days as I checked out your twitch & it seems you don't use it often. Big fan of the GT series since the PS1 times. Yeah i'm old
I actually like Brands Hatch a lot. It looks like a very simple and small track but it's actually very technical.
Commentary skills are on another level mate. 😂
And I love Brands Hatch! My first ever win online was there in gr4.
Honestly brands hatch is one of my favorite circuits, I love turns 5-8, if you use the entire track correctly you can really fly though those corners and it’s just mmmmmh sooo goood😫
great race, I think the badmanwagon/bmw was a better choice fuel wise but the Spaniard was a solid driver (he's probably ran this race before too). Uk -> Portugal 1620.8 mi/2608.42 km,,,,quite a good 26 hr drive.
Appreciate the content and commentary, I am looking forward to chatting with Barry R later! All the best Steve!
Lovely commentary & great racing all in one channel
11:05 love to see a father and son reunite.
As always love the content! Great racing!
I always remember Martin Brundle years ago saying to hug the pitwall to get a faster lap time at Brands 👍
Absolutely sensational Steve again. We love to see it
Nice another video to takes some racing notes and tips from super GT📝
that's some bang-on racing! you've earned my sub chap!
Congrats from a portuguese subscriber ✌🏻✌🏻
4:55 Hey steve, just thought i'd let you know on a more recent video that using fuel mode 1 is burning more fuel than 5 would be. I'm a pilot, and we use the term "leaning the mixture" which means using less fuel, and setting 1 is using way more than you should.
He changes it throughout the race , using the higher mixture makes you slower, so you have to balance fuel with pace.
I love brands hatch, went and sat on the inside of druids on sunday at the mini festival (also unfortunately the uk to portugal is over 900 miles)
The distance from Portugal to the Uk is 1620 miles. Just searched it up 😂
Nice video literally just sit on UA-cam waiting for these to get uploaded 😂
We're so sad bro
😂
Looking forward to doing this race
Hey, Steve: Portugal is located in southwest of Europe, not Africa or Asia. From Plymouth to Oporto (portuguese second city, in the north) it's about 1300 miles in a straight line.
As a fellow brit, i can fully relate to your commentry🤣
Love it!
Love Brands Hatch! Its so satisfying to go fast on
Looking forward to racing again.
jeez, the tire selection is a real bugger! I noticed that the last tire I buy at the race shop is subsequently kept as the default tire when starting a race. So, you could probably imagine the shocking horror of me nearly starting a Manufacturer Series race with Wet Tires on a perfectly sunny day. I was like, "AYE NAKO!" and luckily managed to switch them a few seconds before the driver intro, 😂
Bro you had me popping with the talk about distance between drivers😂😂😂
I would love to know what strat the g70 was doing in that last race ! Always love the vids!
Im not a very good driver. Still learning everything and fresh off using the dynamic racing line but what I like about brands hatch is, to me, all of its corners have great visibility through out and it seems easier to work out an apex at speed. So for that I love brands hatch
Love you’re videos! Actually the distance from London to Lisbon is approximately 985 miles.
first corner round Brands hatch is always a killer for me- has me braking way too early bc of the decline
I'm maybe biased as actually used to live half a mile from this circuit, but this was one of my favourite races so far in the last 2 or 3 months since starting. I actually found the mustangs really good round it
Got two wins last week in this race. Both were pretty close and I had a few other podiums that were extremely close. Definitely one of my fav race weeks on the game.
There’s a guy in the corner of the screen as you start driving at 0:06 who looks like he’s questioning the existence of the best lap display
Quality as always mate. More please 🙏
You're a good lad super, always like your videos
The air travel (bird fly) shortest distance between United Kingdom and Portugal is 1,812 km= 1,126 miles.
As the UK to Portugal distance stuck in my had it stands that Brighton to Porto is around 1200mils. Btw this was amazing racing
Around 700 miles to Portugal? That sounds crazy to me, here in the USA that's about a 9 hour drive, 1 or 2 states over depending on the direction (in some states you can travel farther than that and be in the same state). Almost as much as I drive to go visit my mom. Crazy that you can travel that far and you'll have seen a few different languages. (That's why most Americans don't have passports lol this place is huge)
