Sarah in peak form predicting that they'd sub in Suga and then going on to call those two perfectly timed pickle jinxes. Glad no referees needed to get fired this time around.
Sarah: It makes sense to target Noya because he's not used to it and might struggle to get into the rhythm Daishou (Nohebi spectator guy): It makes sense to target Noya because if you can break the libero defensively, you might break the team's spirit Atsumu: Bro I just like the challenge I love these goofballs
I think you have to differ between manifest and latent purpose. Atsumu doing that to Noya like Suguru said is a manifest (visible/researchable/strategical) purpose while he's challenging Noya is a latent (non-visible/anime-ish/passionate) purpose. Despite being reckless, Atsumu is a smart setter and not challenging maniac.
Targeting nishinoya wasn’t eben about rythem when he’s out he takes most of the received is about the fact he can’t touch the floaters. He wouldn’t be targeting him with spike serves but they see a weakness to exploit. Sarah was so off on that one
Aran's rebound spike gotta be one of the most underrated spikes in the series among the fandom. Not only did he spike over a triple block, he put enough power into it to damn near have it perfectly rebound back to him for another spike seconds later. Just one of the many reasons dude is one of the top 5 high school aces
Fun fact, I totally forgot Aran's name being in the top 5 school aces, so when I watched the match I didn't understand why this dude got a spike after another like he was ushijima xD one other factor was that it has a basic design (no weird spunky hairstyle or colour or weirdy thing) xD
@@perevision Not Ushiwaka lvl at all! When Ushiwaka hit someone other than Nishinoi it's a 99% kill. Aran's spike is much easier to take. But he's very cool and has amazing jumps
Best boy Kita finally making his entrance. If Daichi is Karasuno's Iron pillar of support, Kita is Inarizaki's the Shepherd that brings them all together. Get ready for some AMAZING animation and scene framing in the coming episodes. Quite literally the best of all 4 seasons in my honest opinion.
One thing I love most about Sarah's reaction is that as a brilliant pro she recognised and acknowledged smart strategies no matter which team is using it, and not booing an effective strategy just because the Karasuno opposing team is using it🧡
Sarah I'm sure you're not the only one who requested Suna's abs. But I can say with the highest amount of certainty that you're the only one rn who's justified to say "Let's look his abs for research purpose" 😂
I just love that Suga will never be underappreciated in this channel. Sarah gives me new appreciation for him. I always thought his episode in season 1 was the only highlight for him.
lot of people get blindsided with his lack of screentime on-court that they fail to see the massively developed story arc he is given and progress he is making. In his own way he is given a unique thing only he can bring on the table (or rather "on the court") and instead of being demotivated and falling in depression over fact that 1st year genius took his spot he managed to flip that into his strength and instead of accepting being a secondary setter he trained and fought for a position that is his own. He is maybe not a starting setter but he is not a second place either, he is a star of its own
"Who is this?" That is mr "let's give everyone a master class of how to write the perfect secondary character"!, Kita Shinsuke, fan favorite, leader extraordinaire, life coach, a total inspiration The episodes left are honestly peak fiction, I always end up crying when I see them, and even if Shinsuke is not my favorite character (that's Sakusa my dearest hehhe), the things he talks about have completely changed my way of going through life, not exaggerating! he is just soooo amazing and so inspirational ;o; Prepare yourself for the next set of episodes Sarah, you are going to love them!
omg finally someone who understands the Sakusa Kiyomi Supremacy, I love KIta also but Noya is my fav...... Kiyo tho with his curly hair and colon can sanitize my life
Me watching people challenge an olympic player like 👀🍿 So glad you're so into this anime 😂. I still remember how you weren't sure about watching anime and now look how long we've come ❤
the rest of this season probably the best episodes in the show's run. Really shows that these players want to beat each other on their best day. If they want to see who can jump the highest, they don't want the other guy to stumble or slip, they want everyone's best attempt.
You are right. Kita is there captain despite being a bench player (you can tell because he has a little bar beneath his number). I found your prediction very funny. Can't wait for you to meet him. as others have said he is one of the fan favorite characters
Love that "ancient third year" comment! He did make a brief appearance during the karasuno strategy meeting the night before the match, and he appeared quite calm and confident during the interview before this match, so that's some first impressions of this new character. I feel like you're gonna love him, he really is a great character and a great player in an unexpected way, I mean he got in to replace the ace so that's something! Also, I love how Akagi tried to cheer up Inarizaki there like a senpai he is!
Coach Ukai's strategy to not make Aran rest even for 30 seconds got me chills every time If it were me, I wouldn't be patient enough and take time out immediately And finally Kita (No.1)! He's my favorite player all the time
Kita ga kita(is here)!!! Finally got that cheesy joke out of my system, and I'm thinking he is a strong contender for the love house personally. can't wait for Sarah to know more about him. Also the pickle jinx are on point this episode
the thing i love about suga is that he really IS the team mom: all in all he's incredibly nice, caring & supportive of his teammates, even spurs on the "rowdier" ones from time to time which often ends up as a headache for the rest of the team, but it's very clear that they all know not to ACTUALLY make him mad if they can help it. they even mentioned at one point that suga's the only one able to actually scold daichi, who's *already* considered the one person you don't wanna upset & i think that says a lot lmao i think oikawa calling him "mr. refreshing" fits pretty well too, because the moment he's on the field, the whole team immediately switches up bc he makes sure that everyone gets their stuff back together by whatever means necessary aaand that's it for my little rant, just felt like rambling a bit, hope everyone's having a lovely day :) can't wait for the next ep!
I've been waiting for this! It's finally time for you to meet the best captain in Haikyuu! (Sorry Daichi, I love you, but this guy is on another level). I'm going to make a very bold statement and say that there is a strong chance that he will earn a key to the Love House by the end of the season.
Hahaha. I was waiting for this episode. That head turn XD I love that "Let me see his abs..." "That's really bad for your shoulder..." I mean look at Japanese baseball pitchers. They grind their arms down to only 2 seasons firing rockets every time... Suga's such a boss.
I think one of my favorite things about Haikyuu is that no one dislikes Noya. Every opponent they play has nothing but respect and admiration for him, regardless of the play by play in the moment.
When I saw that middle blocker do the side hit I was confused at first but when they show the full body on that spike. It reminded me of exactly how this one Brazilian exchange student could shoot in water polo. He would lean his body and shoot around the block with still high power
Oh yeah, this one's great. It really showcases Noya as one of Karasuno's geniuses, alongside Kageyama. Also, Suna, the weird sideways spiker, is literally bending his torso over, so his arm is still close to straight over his head, but his whole upper torso is bent in the direction he's hitting, so it makes it seem like he's swinging sideways. The weird 90 degree tilt close-up is just for dramatic effect, I guess.
The captain of Inarizaki High School is my number one favorite. He's my favorite of all anime and manga. I'm Japanese and I'm not good at English. I am translating from Japanese to English using a translation app. So I'm sorry if my English is strange. I look forward to hearing your reactions. For those of you who enjoy Haikyu!! from far away Japan like I do.
my favourite part of this season is observant hinata, i love him randomly giving info that he could only have if he had been constantly analysing, hes changed so much since baby hinata who just wants to spike
Another volleyball UA-camr listed Sebastian Sole as a pro comp to Rintarou. He waits for the opposing middle to be in position to take away his right. Once the opposing middle is there, Rintarou (or Sole) lets the ball pass in front of him, then tilts/angles himself to hit a cross. If the blocker tries to cover the cross, then that leaves the middle's right open. It's not my analysis or player comp so if its off, don't yell at me. Anime stylization exaggerates his angle and puts it a bit over the top.
Yeah I was having a hard time visualizing what they meant. I understand what you're saying, but I think it's definitely easier to replicate in the men's game, where the players jump better and hang in the air more.
Oh oh and i hope more ppl will also see how great akagi (libero) is playing for inarizaki. I remember always noticing how he always dig the ball even during intense plays
Hehe i loved this commentary, the whole time you were trying to puzzle through suna's swing was exactly what i was thinking when i first saw it. I am so excited for you to meet the inarizaki captain!
I love how you used the pickle jinx successfully twice. I love how you also said that they should short serve Alan and than Ukai sends Suga in. So Suga goes in and lets his sassy, competitive side out then goes and does his job quite well despite only doing one serve.
Sarah, I just cant say enough how much I love your reactions, your discussion and your jokes are killing me every time! You are amazing 🤍 Time for my boy Kita to join the action!
I came back here after a year, watched the movie only once because that's the only chance I could. I cried a lot for so many reasons: from the poor length of the movie to how much Haikyuu!! as one of my favorite sport animes ever. And even after this time you're still my most favorite when it comes to Haikyuu!! reactions. Thanks a lot Sarah. Wish you all the best
I think his name is actually Alan. There's no way to write an 'l' sound with japanese characters so they use an 'r', which has then been transliterated back into our alphabet.
Mostly accurate. Japanese does not have a distinct /l/ or /r/ sound like in English. Instead, it has a sound called the alveolar tap or flap, represented by the symbol /ɾ/. And often a bit weaker than normal. This sound is somewhat intermediate between an /l/ and an /r/ sound, but it's not exactly either one. Depending on the context, accent, and environment, it can sound closer to either an /l/ or an /r/ sound to native English speakers. And for Japanese speakers, all three basically sound identical. My Japanese professor has been teaching Japanese while living in America for nearly 20 years, and she still struggles with pronounciation - as she said herself, if she says "I ate rice this morning", it can sound like, "I ate lice this morning" if she isn't careful. But yes, his name (アラン) is written in Katakana, implying a foreign given name. The Haikyuu wiki suggests it comes from the Breton language and means fox. In which case, "Alan" with an /l/ would certainly be the intended pronounciation, given the team he plays on/with. Just had to nitpick, sorry.
You are SOOOOOO the voice inside my head when I watch these episodes! LOL Thanks for this reaction series. Sad the series is coming to an end. If you are looking for a next anime to react to with ALL the feels like this one has, try "Yowamushi Pedal". I would be ecstatic to re-watch THAT series with you!!!
I love how you hit the nail on the head about the pinch server, that booing is exactly what that school motto embodies. Go all out or don't do it at all. We don't need the memories isn't a boastful motto it truly means shake it off any mistakes and make sure you go 100% in any situation
That's right! The translation for what Osamu thought when he looked at Noya (Why are you so mad that I messed up?) didn't make sense but that's beside the point... just wanted to point it out because it bothered me. 😄
At first I also thought #1 was another brother of the Twins, haha. He turned out to be one of my favourite characters of all of Haikyuu. His attitude makes me well up with emotion every time.
Who else is STOKED for Sarah to see Kita's backstory?!?! My favorite captain besides Oikawa (i relate too hard to his insecurities on talent) Kita stands out even amongst other animes for me
Thank you for giving me something to look forward to watching each late Thursday night! Once you (unfortunately) finish the rest of Haikyuu, I hope you still do reacts to more anime! You're one of my favorites to watch because of your commentary
Every time I did something boring and repetitive at work everyday, I thought of Kita. remembered his words. Anyone who has already seen the next episode will know what this means. Kita is the hero of all the ordinary people in the world.
Hi, Sarah! I've been devouring your Haikyuu reactions for the past days (since Sunday), and I must say you have one of my Top 2 Haikyuu reactions in UA-cam. I absolutely love your experienced input on the game, and the bits and pieces of knowledge that you drop to add to the anime. Also, I love that you share your personal impression on the characters, including their appearance! I find it hilarious. Haha Here's 2 things from the anime world that I've pick up by watching anime since 1995: the stronger the character, the more obvious the "flaws" or "personality traits". This helps making the character more multi-faceted. A super strong and normal character can be boring and one-dimension. That's why Bokuto, for example, is a Drama Queen, and Oikawa is immature in his approach to what he sees as "threats". The second thing is: noooormally, main characters have crazy hair styles. It's how you distinguish them from the rest of the characters hahaha That's one of the reasons why Hinata's hair is orange LOL However, Haikyuu is still a Real Life anime, thus most of the hairstyles will be "normal" hehe. That's ir. I'm excited to watch you react to the last 2 episodes of the game. They are FIRE.
also don't forget this is taking place at high school level, so at that age you always feel the spotlight is humongous. Every moment of your life is the most important moment in your history on this planet.
Oh I’m really looking forward for your next episode reaction ! Kita is one of those character that live a mark on you, I love this character and I really can’t help but wait for you to discover him ! 😊
15:34 no they aren't saying that he just hits it hard and through the blockers. Rather, they were saying that his point of contact is wide so he can basically twist his body to hit around the blockers. He can hit more to the side of his body rather than the usual above the body and that can get around the blocker as shown by 14:09. You can also see in 14:36 that he bends his torso down so that his arm can hit the ball at an angle that can get around the blockers.
i am so excited for next episode, inarizaki no.1 is my favorite character and i was waiting all this time for this moment. Best boi (imo) comming through
Now i REALLY can't wait for ur reaction for the next episode!! It's really fun hearing your guesses on the Inarizaki captain and I'm looking forward for you to meet him in the next episode
One of my favorite things in following you as you watch this series is when you have a built-up backstory for a character that’s been on screen for no more than 15 seconds so far Can’t wait to see if you’re right or not 😅
The deal with Suna is that he has super flexible shoulders and a ridiculously stable core. This allows him to pull off counter-cross shots that go away from his body, thus avoiding the block entirely. Also, Kita-san my beloved! He's an anchor of the team, keeping them steady when they try and rush ahead. Like Daichi, he's very good on defense, but unlike Daichi, he's a full-blown defensive specialist, and he's very consistent.
I would like to applaud you for sticking to 1 episode a week. When I was watching this I was forced to watch it week by week but I would have definitely binged the entire series by now with how this show leaves you on a hook every episode. I have a perfect comparison to who that captain is but it's so close that if you know the person I would compare him to it would spoil the next episode. Suggestion: I hope you have a stress ball or something because the game is getting down to the wire with 5 episodes left this show has a lot of room to swing the game back and forth. This is after all the series where they made an entire season a single game.
I remember playing against a team in NY when I was in middle school. He got substituted halfway through the game. He had a weird hybrid serve. He hit it barely out, and the people who came to watch "boo"ed him. I still remember because it was such a shock to me to see people boo their own team. Also, this had middle and high school kids, so most of the people who came to watch were parents. I remember my dad telling me "those parents are ruthless"
I agree with your analysis on the strat of the team vs Nekoma. The whole point is to get a point. Wasting time on tiring the setter is just tiring out yourself as well and inefficient.
The people arguing for the other team’s strategy against nekoma have no idea what they’re talking about. I’m not a volleyball player and even I know that was a stupid strategy. Sarah knows her shit so listen to what she says.
"Who is that?" Kita Shinsuke - one of my LOMLs in the fictional realm lmao (Sakusa is still my #1) I love this man so much too & the desire to be like him is just... you'll see why Sarah
I think almost any weird strategy could legitimately be used in High School Volleyball Nationals. The difference in chaotic strategy is huge between the college and professional level of most sports I've witnessed.
WHO IS THIS MAN?!?! So many questions!!
He is a game changer in so many ways .. you’ll see

@@RobustPhysics No need to apologise. Thanks for the detail.
I just decided to cover all my bases and repeat his name 37 times every time I said it 😂
You are SOOOOOO the voice inside my head when I watch these episodes! LOL Thanks for this reaction series. Sad the series is coming to an end. If you are looking for a next anime to react to with ALL the feels like this one has, try "Yowamushi Pedal". I would be ecstatic to re-watch THAT series with you!!!
if Kita-san doesnt make it into the 'Love House' I'm protesting lol
Love house is meant only for Karasuno players and maybe the occasional Nekoma player or two. No other adversary teammates allowed.
I gave him his own room. Sorry @peteypete9357.... I couldn't help it
I love how you hit the nail on the head about the pinch server, that booing is exactly what that school motto embodies. Go all out or don't do it at all. We don't need the memories isn't a boastful motto it truly means shake it off any mistakes and make sure you go 100% in any situation
I was looking forward to the best pickle jinx moment all series, and you landed it beautifully!
16:09 Nishinoya got mad because Atsumu hit it out, right? he wanted to receive his serve!!! great mindset/attitude/ego to want to excel at something
That's right! The translation for what Osamu thought when he looked at Noya (Why are you so mad that I messed up?) didn't make sense but that's beside the point... just wanted to point it out because it bothered me. 😄
@@cookiemonster6468 I think it was supposed to be "Why are you so mad that we or he (Atsumu) messed up?"
@@girish2754 yep. I think so, too.
@@cookiemonster6468yeah Crunchyroll messed up the subtitles (again), it should’ve said "we"
That's how I interpreted it (I think)
Its awesome to see volleyball players watching this anime and to see what goes through their minds while watchin this
My boy kita is finally making his grand appearance ~
At first I also thought #1 was another brother of the Twins, haha.
He turned out to be one of my favourite characters of all of Haikyuu.
His attitude makes me well up with emotion every time.
Who else is STOKED for Sarah to see Kita's backstory?!?! My favorite captain besides Oikawa (i relate too hard to his insecurities on talent) Kita stands out even amongst other animes for me
LOL, I love that people had the gall to talk back to you about Volleyball strategy. Tell em Sarah!
Thank you for giving me something to look forward to watching each late Thursday night! Once you (unfortunately) finish the rest of Haikyuu, I hope you still do reacts to more anime! You're one of my favorites to watch because of your commentary
She’s watching Run With The Wind on her other channel! 🥰🥰🥰
YESSSS KITAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
literally one of my FAVOURITE character ever!!!!!!!
Why are people doubting your Volleyball knowledge?, your literally the best player in the world!
Sarah, I never feel personally attacked with any of your comments. They are always so authentic and make me die out of laughter, I just can't 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kita Shinsuke is arriving finally. I'm so hyped
Every time I did something boring and repetitive at work everyday, I thought of Kita. remembered his words.
Anyone who has already seen the next episode will know what this means.
Kita is the hero of all the ordinary people in the world.
Kita is 👑
Omg I need that Sara make the final episodes in consecutive days, it kills me to wait every weeek😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Haha
Here's 2 things from the anime world that I've pick up by watching anime since 1995: the stronger the character, the more obvious the "flaws" or "personality traits".
Good to see sarah's video just when i need something to listen while on work
also don't forget this is taking place at high school level, so at that age you always feel the spotlight is humongous.
30:08 I laughed so hard at this. 😂 I love Sarah having beef with the referees. 😂😂😂
i am so excited for next episode, inarizaki no.1 is my favorite character and i was waiting all this time for this moment. Best boi (imo) comming through
Love the reaction like always, these are peak episodes coming now so wish we had more than 1 a week 😢
He is like the calmest guy in Haikyuu verse, and he is THE captain
Now i REALLY can't wait for ur reaction for the next episode!! It's really fun hearing your guesses on the Inarizaki captain and I'm looking forward for you to meet him in the next episode
Thanks!
❤️❤️
Sarah's pickle jinxes coming in handy this episode!! and you are about to meet BEST boy (and dare I say... runner-up for best captain) Kita AHHH
Wow, the pickled jinx was right on point today!
It's been a while... had to use it double
I really think your gonna like Inarizaki’s caption, especially his backstory!! Can’t wait to see your reaction to his character
One of my favorite things in following you as you watch this series is when you have a built-up backstory for a character that’s been on screen for no more than 15 seconds so far
Can’t wait to see if you’re right or not 😅
31:54 that’s a powerful jinx over there 😂
The deal with Suna is that he has super flexible shoulders and a ridiculously stable core. This allows him to pull off counter-cross shots that go away from his body, thus avoiding the block entirely.
Also, Kita-san my beloved! He's an anchor of the team, keeping them steady when they try and rush ahead. Like Daichi, he's very good on defense, but unlike Daichi, he's a full-blown defensive specialist, and he's very consistent.
the best episode of this season finally is coming ladies and gentlemen kita is finally here
Ubugawa is always catching strays on this channel and I love it
Next episode is absolutely one of my favorites.
next episode is definitely one of the best episodes in the series, can't wait for your reaction!
He's the GOAT. THE GOAT
TIME FOR MY (and everyone's tbh) FAVORITE INARIZAKI BOY KITA SHUNSUKE!!
I am so soft for Kita, gosh his mindset is fantastic
I would like to applaud you for sticking to 1 episode a week. When I was watching this I was forced to watch it week by week but I would have definitely binged the entire series by now with how this show leaves you on a hook every episode.
I have a perfect comparison to who that captain is but it's so close that if you know the person I would compare him to it would spoil the next episode.
Suggestion:
I hope you have a stress ball or something because the game is getting down to the wire with 5 episodes left this show has a lot of room to swing the game back and forth. This is after all the series where they made an entire season a single game.
The GOAT Kita Shinsuke's time to shine, can't wait for those next episodes
Keep it 💯 Sarah, love your Qs and commentary!
Another best boi has entered the chat!! Thats who 🥰🥳
Next episode is one of my favourites. I cant wait!!!
"The better the blockers are the easy is for him to controll them"
Sarah: and I took that personally
Finally back to Haikyuu! It’s been three long weeks 😊
The people arguing for the other team’s strategy against nekoma have no idea what they’re talking about. I’m not a volleyball player and even I know that was a stupid strategy. Sarah knows her shit so listen to what she says.
Don't worry, he *is* meant to be Alan. It's just that Japanese doesn't have an L. Their very soft R is as close as they can get it in their alphabets.
"Who is that?"
Kita Shinsuke - one of my LOMLs in the fictional realm lmao (Sakusa is still my #1) I love this man so much too & the desire to be like him is just... you'll see why Sarah
I can't WAIT for next week, dang.
Fantastic episode! Intensity is certainly picking up and it's all for us!
I'm gonna pass out by the end of this
AHHHH I can’t wait for next episodeeeee!!!
I'm so excited for next episode and Kita omg if you don't like him I think I'm gonna cry (I'm definititely gonna cry 😂)
Good thing I fell in love instantly
I think almost any weird strategy could legitimately be used in High School Volleyball Nationals. The difference in chaotic strategy is huge between the college and professional level of most sports I've witnessed.
Great reaction loved it as always
