Fun fact; haikyuu literally doubled the number of volleyball clubs in Japan since it first released
The number of clubs was in a consistent decline until haikyuu released, but now the number increases every year. Japan's volleyball program is currently ranked #4 in the world and will probably continue to grow all because one author knew how to make a sports series hype as hell
Yeah Tanaka was definitely the MVP. Seeing yet again how inspiring he his to people around him was awesome. Even at such a young age! Such a positive person and character

Atsumu and Osamu are known as the best twins in the high school volleyball scene. Atsumu is the teams setter while Osamu is the teams wing-spiker, Osamu is the rather calmer version of him but don’t be fooled by those two silly interactions since they’re willing to do new moves at any moment. INAZARKI HAS ALSO PLAYED AGAINST SHIRATORIZAWA LAST NATIONALS TOO!!!!

I love that they took the time to make everyone in Inarizaki speak in dialect except for Suna bc he's not originally from Hyogo.
miyano mamoru is always above and beyond amazing in every role but he really knocked it out of the park with atsumu, he's got his characterization down to a t

Atsumu isn't so bad you will see he just loves volleyball and is very proud of his skills ^^ and btw a little info
the reason why Inarizaki was in front of a shrine at the end and they have those little fox animations is because (Inari) is the god of prosperity and foxes and sometimes appears in the form of a fox, most of the members names are based on different species of foxes except the miya twins their last name means shrine.
Also an Inari shrine often has two fox statues "guarding" it, making this a metaphor that the twins are the strongest

i really love the dynamic of the second years. ennoshita is mom friend for sure. kinoshita is potential goblin shitster in the mold of suga. and narita is the quiet and calm to nishinoya's exuberant energy. tanaka, both excitable but also serious, really stands out as their years's representative
all Miya brothers' introduction did to me is reminding me of how much I want you guys to react to Bungo Strays Dogs. One twin's name is osamu, the same name as a character in that show and the other twin is voiced by the same va as also said character lol.
Atsumu's VA is Chrollo from HxH
Just so you guys know, since it won't be mentionned in the anime, but Kanoka's team is really good, they won the last inter-high and are seed 1 for this tournament.
And (minor manga spoiler but it is half a page of the last chapter so who cares?) Kanoka actually goes on to become the ace of Japan's National Team in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
So Tanaka introducing her to the sport of volleyball is THAT important. Just because he treated her properly.
Also little fin fact that I love: Hinata Natsu, Shoyou's little sister, ends up going to Niiyama and is part of the volleyball team when she grows up!!

The Inarizaki Twins are a reference from Captain Tsubasa! a very old anime and manga from the 80s about football (or soccer). In one of the matches the protagonist team plays against the Tachibana Twins, a very acrobatic pair who uses jumps and speed as their main tools. A lot of "twins" in anime were born as a result of them, maily in sports anime
They left us on ep 13 and the season ended
We had to wait for i don't remember how many months

Yeah it's better to call them by their first names - Atsumu and Osamu . At this point in the story , he's the best highschool setter in all of Japan . That means he's better than Oikawa and Kageyama.

for some of us this was the end of the season and had to wait months for the next episode since next episode onwards it's Haikyuu: to the top part 2. Imagine the pain xD

Well, its not about the colours. Indeed black is their primary colour( Noya's orange). Its just this match where they're using their alternate kits i.e. orange ones as the opposition team has same black coloured kit.
