Warwick to Loch Ness. 507miles took 10.5hrs, 3 stops (for the passengers - charged while we used the services) Cupra Born V2 58kwh. Took the same time as when I did the same journey in my old BMW 320d.
@@Electroheads I’ve road tripped in my ID3 during the 2.5 years I’ve had it to Tuscany, Switzerland including several mountain passes, Bavaria and Normandy.
Really boring comment (sorry), I spent 13y as a pre-hospital emergency care doctor. If you have to fold seats down to get luggage in, push all luggage up against front seats. In event of a crash there is no chance for luggage to accelerate against the seats and cause injuries. Load restraint nets are ideal but most new cars don’t have them. Having seen a mum & child with spinal injuries from hitting a railway bridge and the same when a tool box shot from rear parcel shelf to hit back of front seats. Anyway, depressing post over, I enjoyed the video. More support for the ease of charging despite all the EV naysayers.
I agree. Back when I would bring a second suitcase in a car this size I would put the second case on the rear seat and then use all the rear seatbelts to strap it in place.
I asked myself why she didn't lower the false floor to maximize the size of the boot? If the charging cable is underneath you easily could have put this behind the drivers seat in the legroom (due to a missing frunk on MEB cars). Maybe it would be possible to put the two suitcases lying upright on their side behind each other but within the boot.
Thanks for sharing I was in Locarno with my ID3 with the VW people same time as you both. Pity it’s not the model that’s available in the UK as hoping to swap mine for the GTX Performance which hasn’t been tested by anyone yet. By the way, I’ve driven several times in my ID3 to Switzerland-the speed limits you see on the infotainment when you cross a border are town/urban/motorway-not mountains and normal roads! Safe travels

A really great review more realistic to the average driver ,i like the look of the car just lately i have not considered a VW but this one could be a winner 😊
Nice looking VW, my brother had a Cabrio and a Scirroco, both great performers, fun to drive, and cool vehicles. Nice to see VW adding another to the family! Joy to drive is what that looks like! I wish I could afford one, seems to be a general problem with a lot of EV's, they are out of my price range still. A matching bike rack and eBike would be supremely cool! Really love these travel/review videos!!! Have you done a EUV video or plan to do one?
in Svizzera oltre il tedesco e il francese (e il romancio...) si parla anche l'italiano, voi siete passati vicino a casa mia, nel Grigioni italiano e in Ticino parliamo italiano :-) bella la GTX!
Well done, Eilis to get in first on this car. Very interesting to see. TBH, the ONLY reason I watched this is because you were fronting the vid, the car is defo better than I had imagined and has some interesting stuff going on. It looks good outside and inside. Loved the double white tops, looks cool and sporty. Kaleb really came into his own, nice guy to travel with. Hope you can do more like this in the future.
This is a review of gtx i really want to see! If you allow me to get this clip, then i would like to put this with accurate Korean subtitles for people on my channel. ❤
i3 has blinds you can slide forward to hide the glass if the sun is blinding or scorchio. I do like a sunroof tilt open function, much quieter than cracking open the side window.

@@pmrribeiro what’s the practical use of being able to drive faster than 140 km/h for sustained periods? On most highways in most countries, the speed is limited to 120 km/h with some exceptions like France and Italy to 130 km/h. On a few autobahns there is no speed limit, but your insurance will not cover you for accidents due to excessive speed (and anyway, accidents above 140 km/h will have you and any other life forms involved terminated). And don’t go to the “get to destination faster” or “potential to get out of situations” arguments, both are very easily debunked.
@@Alessandro--- the practical use?! You get there faster. You waste less time on the road! Next question? Besides, I'm buying a car, that I expect to move me between different countries. Not t one stuck in the same place, with the same speed limits.
Actually the ID3 has a better battery. Try abrp and try is car can do less stops than a long range model 3. I know I checked . Plus it looks better and drives better.

Over 2,000km to the Canadian Rockies (Jasper and Banff) over 7 days and across 3 mountain ranges in an EV6.
Ordered one today the gtx performance model. Can’t wait for it to be delivered, February I’m told. Happy daze ❤
Awesome! Let us know how you get on. I don't think you'll be dissapointed ☺

I was thinking that.
I also thought that. Used be chair of a road safety charity. There are eyelets for tying down luggage in the back of my ID3.

Car seems quite fun. Road tripping with Eilis seems funner.

@user-vu4tf3eb9l simp?
Enjoyed the test ride very much. We just bought our first Tesla (pre-owned) and find other test rides informative.
We took the panorama roof as an option on our Peugeot but with hindsight it was a waste of money.

15:00 How nice it would be to if ChatGPT had a voice like for example Scarlet Johanson 😀
Why is it that rear seats don't seem to be able to fold flat anymore? I have seen this on multiple newer cars.
Hyundai inster all seats fold flat ,even the driver’s seat 😮

"Is Geneva in Switzerland....?" UK the European Americans!
Is Varna in Romania or Bulgaria?
What about Ruse?
Nice car 🤔
There is some weird whistling Muzak in the background
You could do 3 countries in about two and a half hours and not need a passport. Just outside Chester to Gretna.
Fourth!
Ooo yeah, UK isn’t in Europe. It’s exactly part of Australia.
As usual, never buy a manufacturers first model. This ID.3 is much better than their first attempt. Oh and the abs on this girl are impressive.
Geneva's in Switzerland?
Will ford steal this one ?
First 😊
Unfortunately it’s still got that dopey Nissan Leaf back end. I can never take that car seriously until they deal with that.
Dopey might be a bit harsh, but yes I don't think it matches the GTX badge. They could do better.
Shame there are no plans for the ID.3 of any flavor in NA. SUVs only 👎👎👎

Shame it's not coming to the UK. Looks like VW might have finally got a worthwhile electric car.
It has come to the UK.
It's in the performance 340ps version.
The std GTX has 286ps.

199Km/h top speed for the top spec? Have we gone back to the Seventies?!
Probably electronically limited. It’s a road car not a track car.
