I've always thought that Hoegaarden didn't get enough love from beer drinkers. I totally understand why a lot of German Hefeweizens get all the love (deservedly so) but this is not a subpar beer by any stretch of the imagination. Great episode!
Now this is one of my favorites! Saw the video pop up in my feed and just so happened to have a bottle chilling in the fridge. Popped it open and just had one along with you guys. Awesome review as always. Cheers boys.
I totally agree. Hoegaarten is like a very bright firework that wows on the opening but fizzles out really badly....almost pour outable even though you start with a rave....you guys nailed it....
I always drink beer with food. So taste is important but mouth feel and finish don’t really concern me. Hoegaarden seems to go so well with football, chili and garlic bread. I agree with the guys that it could benefit from a higher carbonation. Great review!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! That’s such a good point, if you always pair your beer with food then there are a lot of aspects of it like mouthfeel that don’t really matter. This beer pairs really well with food, you’re right.
Great question Steven! With the Weihenstephaner getting a perfect score I have to of course give it the edge. When it comes to wheat beers, it’s pretty much as good as it gets in our opinion.
You guys are absolutely brilliant, love the enthusiasm. Shoutout from the uk
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Cheers my friend 🍻

Could not agree more Jim!

Nothing makes us happier than hearing these kind of stories Jake. Hopefully you had a good time! Cheers 🍻

So true! It’s such a beer enigma
An old classic, which I rarely see in Louisiana, these days.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Cheers my friend 🍻
How do you guys think this compares to the Weihenstephaner?

I had this recently and I was a bit letdown. Thought it tasted very soda-y and not very beery.
That’s a great way of describing it, for sure. Nothing touches the German Weissbiers
Pronunciation is WHO-GARDEN
