I always enjoys watching your videos. I started detailing as a kids washing and hand polishing airplanes in exchange for a little $ or flying time. The current technology in detailing and airplanes is almost completely different. When your ready for a bigger challenge, find a 50 year old plane with original paint that hasn't seen a wash bucket in 30 years and make it shine again:-)
Hi Chicago Auto Pros, is a polish / compound 'always' necessary prior to application of a ceramic coating? Or is polishing / compounding simply to enhance the paint prior to applying a ceramic coating. If you did not perform a polishing stage, would this be detrimental to the longevity of the coating? I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
Nice work! Im a private pilot too that dreams of buying his own SR22. I always thought Id wrap it in matte black (like my car) when I get it... But researching it further, FAA wont allow it. I wonder if ceramic coating is legal... ?
H&P Customs it is incredibly hydrophobic and slick so the water will continue to bead even before it has time to freeze.

@@ferrari4968 If all you needed was a hydrophobic surface on a wing to prevent icing, there would be no need for TKS fluid. You need something that actually lowers the freezing point of water.
Yes it does..reason it does is because nothing sticks to it. So it really does a great job on planes..my product allows me to warranty my stuff for 4 years.
@@AvianaAircraft how do I know how much weight it adds? A simple and kind response would be to tell me. The FAA needs an STC for any alteration . I was just checking in and making sure that you had considered that! By the way, I'm a certified A&P mechanic besides being a 747 Captain. I have many contacts in the FAA too.
@@_jamesbradley__ Sorry, I think that my comment came across more sarcastically than intended. It is a common question actually, We use about 100ml of coating, but most of that gets wiped off, assuming 5g/cc about 500 grams is added, but again, most of it is wiped off again! On a 747 I am sure it would scale up a bit more!
Sweet, I’m gonna get opti cost pro so that works hand and hand. Here is the working link to the Tesla pics I had to return and still waiting for new one 70 days after (still waiting for refund from T) met Kimbal Musk and was gonna tell him about my lack of quality but couldn’t based on setting I was in: imgur.com/a/nrMWkgf
Not sure what you charge for this work but it's worth every penny. When the day comes I get my cirrus I will have to put aside the $$ for this to be done. Just wonder if you can come to me :O)
I took picture of original paint on a 1957 Cessna 182A. There isn't much paint left on it and in some places it's completely gone. Who wants to give this a try?
is that coating FAA and manufacturer approved, if no then that aircraft may now be unairworthy. That aircraft has an EMM under the paint, EMM is there to protect it from a lightning strike, putting that coating my add to the insulation properties of the paint and your coating. so when or if that aircraft was hit by lightning The EMM would not be able to do its job and the aircraft could explode on impact of a lightning strike. just saying.
Ive done about 115 planes with my ceramic product . im approved by the faa to also apply it within the wings and fuselage. I offer a 2 year full warranty on fading. 6 year on oxidation and 15 for corrosion. If you have been contemplating it you need to decide if you are going to be painting it within the next 6 years. It is awefull to get off as theres nothing that aid in it chemically wise..that is the cons..the pros are. Ice..that becomes next to imossible. Its hydrophobic so nothing really sticks to it. That goes for the belly to where the black oil and grease get..
Not a critique of the job done, but I would never allow a "coating" of any type to be applied to a very complex airframe. What is never addressed with the "coatings", is what happens when they start to break down and how does one remove them completely. Easy with wax... strip with detergent soap and re-apply. I do it annually with my boat - even use aviation/marine wax. Should also mention I fly a SR20. To each their own though.
Who gave the information about airplanes and engines for this video? First of all, we use leaded fuel to both aid in lubrication, and to prevent detonation. Has nothing to do with flight at high altitudes. Secondly, the leading edge panels are not stainless, they are titanium.
Well. its settled... I wont detail aircraft. Im not in business to screw up and kill customers... yup.. im out... cool knowledge tho. I thought about getting a pipistral... idk tho
That ceramic coating makes the plane look even more amazing. Great job.
Great video, combining two of my favorite subjects - aviation and detailing!
Great collab video...you two work well together! Incredible results!
I just wanna know what shoes my man had on at 17:49
It's good to see them being serious with a $1 million sophisticated machine.

@@AvianaAircraft polishing aluminium is a different process to get the desired result. And I've done that too.
I have buffed and detailed around 12 airplanes my dad used to buy and sell them...over 40 full size r.v.'s too...
Wing-rockin' clean-n-shiny. Approved!
Very coooool. Spent my watching time worrying about you guys bumping into one of those protruding parts.
How much coating did you go though 30 ml or 50 ml bottle?
How much notice do you need to make an appointment? Do you bring your own power equipment? How long does the process take for a Cirrus aircraft?
Would the lead be from exhaust fumes? And what's the secret sauce?👀
Great video man. 👌
I love ceramic coating on my car but has it been tested with icing conditions?
how did you clean it? what do you use to get rid of oil build up

Absolutely beautiful!
Am I correct - that you didn't coat the windows?
Ope pushed the prop in the wrong direction ☠️. Great video just remember the windows should be careful around as they scratch easy
I just want to know what that secret sauce is?
Does it add any weight?
all that production and only 21k subscribers WTH.
TheCamaro5 it is for where they want to go not where they are at. Why not start high instead of keep having to improve
i was implying that this channel should have thousand more subscribed. It is done like it should be on tv and they be trying to get picked up for tv.
I so love when car guys are around plane guys! Because the car guy is like, “this goes how fast?”… 😂🤣😂

So does the ceramic coating delay or keep the icing down to a minimum?

how much weight does the coating add?
:)),, wonder if its safe and legal to use on the windows ?
I would like to see this as an experiment
Looks absolutely awesome! I hope that research was done on the weight factor. 😎👍
If you forget to pee before flying you will carry more weight than what we added

Also NOT APPROVED by Cirrus Aircraft and will create P-static issues
