- G'day my fellow Hunters and todays weather forecast predicts a 99% chance of torrential rain, winds clocking in at over 300mph and the appearance of an Elder Dragon that goes by the name Amatsu... Suffice to say, the weather forecast is right (for once) but we're the Fierce; Amatsu isn't the first living Calamity we've slain and he most certainly isn't the last!!
Now without further ado, it's time to ride the lightning!

What a way to bring poor Kagero's story to an end... To change the subject a bit; it suddenly occurred to me after the hunt that Amatsu was probably the reason why the Infernal Springs was so dark and depressing in the first place... heck, the Infernal Springs itself or the nearby Coral Palace may well be either Kagero/Yomogi's old home and/or just one of the many cities that Amatsu has wiped off the map in the past...
Either way; what an amazing fight! Amatsu really shows just how much of a glow up can be achieved by Old World monsters when they are brought to the modern games! And while admittedly we all saw it coming, it was still an incredible experience!
Just a few things of note in this video, firstly; I switched my CB set mid-hunt to a Dragon Element set after remembering that Amatsu isn't very weak to Thunder
And secondly, you may have noticed that there were a few mods present in the video, namely:
-The Rainbow Spiribird spawn mod
-The MHW Weapon Sounds mod
-The Slo-mo Finish and No Kill Cam mod (the former is disabled)
-The Persistant Buff Glow removal mod
-The No Wyvern Riding music mod
As you can see; none of these mods affected the hunt in any way (aside from making the killing blow less impactful)

zinogre finally got his revenge from being removed from his home
I wish that they had Allmother Narwa spawn as a secret Wyvern Ride if you had Minoto and/or Hinoa as follower/s...
it could lend into the idea that Ibushi only came closer to Kamura in the first place because he was forced to take a long detour around the Infernal Springs in order to avoid Amatsu to reach Narwa and he got lost in the process

Unless maybe these serpents have very high up flight paths the humans of MH cant reach for obvious reasons
@@kennethsatria6607amatsu is a pretty docile Elder. It likes to be left alone flys insanely high. The problem is it naturally spawns a massive Cat 5 hurricane around it non stop. You fight Amatsu in the eye of the hurricane.

still dunno why shagaru magala doesnt permenently make the sky darken anymore yet amatsu is perfectly fine with permenently raining.

Absolutley true,for a "before MR100" like me,It was a challenge,finally beating him was satisfactory.
are you high? best boss fight? It's a trivial move set with an insta kill mechanic. Worst fight by far. You'd have to be an idiot to enjoy this.
Unpopular Opinion but this Amatsu is in my humble opinion the worst designed Monster Remake ever.
After fighting him a few times, you realise all he is doing, is playing an annoying keepaway-game, where pretty much all his attacks cover wide areas around him, which you have to respect, or you gonna get sent flying.
To make things worse, when Amatsu sends you flying up, every invincibility you have gets removed.
It happened so many times to me, that i got knocked down from him and before i could do anything he combos it with a move which send me flying and in the air, before i could wirefall, i got hit by a tornado, which killed me.
Just when you thought this was vicious the monster coming up for this month is likely going to be something twice as vicious
Considering that it's implied that the final monster will be locked behind MR 200; it's pretty much inevitable that it's going to be tough as nails!
Given the MR walls behind the Risen monsters; I don't think Capcom wants a repeat of the slaughterfests that were Iceborne Alatreon and Fatalis lol

While I'm not completely sure what impressive charge blade gameplay looks like, your charge blade gameplay looked really impressive.

are you high? Care to explain why this fight is so beloved ? It's complete dogshit, cheap and bad game design. Trivial moveset, so they gave him an unblockable AOE attack that insta kills. This fight really makes me want to quit and uninstall this shit game.

Was this boss easy for you guys? I was on lance for basically the entire game and this was the only monster that made me fail the quest more than twice
havent killed him for a week now, really starting to think this it for me. I do the entire fight flawless, then someone carts to his insta kill unblockable shit move. It's not fun to waste 20 mins everytime.
I beat it solo on my first try with 2 carts. Used up all my healing items and it was a long fight though since I was using early M Rank gear still.
Also the only monster that made me fail haha

The Guy who designed this should be fired forever. All Gimmick Fights in this Game are so Lazy with 9000 Area Attack Spams and Phantom Range Hitboxes. It's God Level Sloppiness in comparison to World.

I think it's the "final boss" of Kamura's storyline, finally bringing Kagero and Yomogi's story to a close...
Primordial Malzeno neatly wraps up Elgato's storyline as it's "final boss"
yeah thats why they gave him an unblockable AOE insta kill attack... seriously I feel like I am done with this fucking franchise.

Which is a shame, since it usually gets the short end of the stick for difficulty. It was a fun fight though.

logical error: Rise is the latest game of the series, MH wasn't made famous over 20 years for it's Amatsu fights. He isn't even in the first monster hunter game on PS2. He was introduced in Portable 3rd. Me saying Amatsu is a dogshit fight, which he is, and badly designed fight, that doesn't mean the entire Monster Hunter game play loop is bad design. I was talking about Amatsu specifically.@@Amy-mv3yh
