like them a utilitarian wagon , wish we had LC 70 series wagon and troopy and LC 300's in the U.S.... as most our wagons/S.U.V.'s sold in the U.S. are more a 3 row luxury family school bus with" independent rear axle for that smooth ride and leg room for the 3rd row "
I love the look and want one (used to own a 2018 model) BUT at $85k driveaway my brain can't deny that you're better off with the upcoming 250 Prado GX @ $81k driveaway which is on the LC300 chassis and you can use the difference to put diff locks on if you must. The Prado has way more features, comfort (& possibly a little more interior space) than this, even at base spec GX level, pus coil springs in the rear and no rear track width difference.
What would be the reason for persisting with an engine driven fan? Surely, duel electric fans would be more than enough to do the job. Plus it would be quieter and maybe save a bit of fuel.
i disagree with those "traditionalist" who swear by V8 for 70 series. of course ideally it should get old mechanical diesel like it does back in the old days, but sadly wouldn't be possible due to current regulation, so either V8 or 4 cylinder would have to deal with common rail, turbo, dpf etc to conform with current emission regulation. this 4 cylinder is more like it for 70 series (same power, even more than V8). this thing is meant to be basic, so if 4 cylinder do the job just right, it should be under the hood instead of the V8.
Excellent review and had me hooked until he opened the engine and unveiled the non V8 engine. I left this comment and moved along to the next UA-cam video . . .
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t i own it buddy and its what it uses, and towing is very good, i use 22l per 100 towing 3300kg tandem off road van, my 200 series uses 25l per100, it doesnt use 20 around town, you stick with your prius
Nailed it, this is a perfectly adequate $50k 4WD that will be useful and last many years. Then someone added another 30k onto the price.
That's the nostalgia tax
It’s 50K in china
In Indonesia, the price is same with LC300.. around $150K-170K hmmm
119k usd in the philippines
These are awesome!

it is an sexy sound even available in my jimny 😅
I wonder how much power the engine can make when fully tuned?
I’ve heard even just a throttle controller can change the feel/response quite a bit. Add ECU tune or chip and an exhaust and it should go pretty good.
2/fifths of stuff all.
It’s a farm truck and that’s the reality but we all just love them
I think if they are gonna get rid of the v8, they should at least offer the 3.3 v6 from the 300 series as a flagship motor
Great idea. Even if it has to be detuned a bit.
Probably needs a bit longer to make sure it's reliable. The 2.8 is about 9 years old at this point so it's more proven than the 3.3
@@charlied8456💯🔥
At this price, it should of had the v6 10 speed auto like in the lc300 and a better interior and infotainment.
Slow and heavy amazing combo right there

That’s a rocket compared to the V8 D4D
Its crazy to think that the 4 cylinder is faster than v8 !! 😂

10s for a brick on wheels not to shabby the real test would be towing test 0-100 that's when you need quick acceleration.

underpowered and overpriced seriously underteched and ugly old crap machine, my 300kw v8 patrol uses 11l per 100 on trip and 12.5 in town
Bull. The v8 patrol factory fuel figure is 14.4 and they are always wrong. Owners report usage around town over 20l/100
Goon
