I dont see any confusion. Its made for a purpose. Same as it would be confusing to buy a hatchback as an everyday car for a farmer. A RAV4 is for city use and some weekend gravel roads. A Fortuner is a city car that can be used for some serious Offroad use or as a Farmers commuter. The Landcruiser 79 is for the farmer who has to get onto tar and then head for town or for Overlanding. Its tough, simple, reliable and easy to repair if damaged in the middle of nowhere. Its also highly customisable with a lot of interior volume. The Prado will just be a luxury version of this.
It’s funny the versions sold in Asia get leather seats as an option and even reverse cameras … I think the local Toyota dealers seem to drive some of the specs of the cars sold 🤷🏻♂️
Less tech= more reliable. And if you want the over tech see the 2.8 engine technical details your mind will be blown there’s soo much tech in that allow this 2.8 has that efficient power high torque less emissions etc.. to me if got this car I would not miss fancy tech in fact the first thing to do is get rid of this stupid screen and add classic headunit with buttons etc 😁😁
This version does not have fuel consumption… there are versions in other markets like the Middle East and Australia that have a newer display and trip computer
Here in the US we get all the stuff on them! There would be folks flocking to buy these here though it would never be approved for sale. If I were out in the middle of Africa I would see one thing about this rig, few things that would break. I guess that is the point of it though.

This truck is not the same spec model as Australia. Australia, get the new dashboard plus a few extras for the same money.
Toyota is playing a game to see how much the can take prices up while giving as little as possible and have people still buy 😅

Can one stand on the protruding bumper for sight seeing?🤔
