    I’ve been so inspired by your videos, that two weeks ago I started a massive clear out. I donated all my really good quality scented candles that all smell very artificial since Covid, a ton of my grandmother’s ware, who died in 1970 ! All my dvds. I kept 5 cds, everything else went. 6 large boxes of really good items went to charity, and 37 towels to the clothes bank ! As the days went on, I became even more ruthless ! We now have 7 dinner plates and 6 side plates, for 3 people. All I feel is relief, and every single drawer and press has space for the first time in years ! Thank you Emma !

    Hi, I enjoy watching you tidy up. These types of videos inspire me. I know it’s hard but we need to let go of things that cause clutter. I’m getting better at letting go, especially if O know that those things can bless others. There’s a few organizing women I watch (here in the US) that say if our things can’t fit in the spaces we make for them, then we need to get rid of them. It takes practice, but it does get easier. Thanks for sharing! 😊

    We use our little eye wash glass often enough to keep it, for sure. It has helped me in the past with things caught in my eyes or just rinsing them out. It’s nice. It works.

    Hello. I would use a spray bottle of water and white vinegar for cleaning the hall window and sill.you could scrub the little glass shapes GENTLY with a little scrubbing brush or a toothbrush. Then i would only put a pretty vase with some fake flowers or real flowers on the windowsill. It would make the window and hall look very calm.and welcoming while showi ng off the nice old window. Xxx

      And yes white vinegar and water in a spray bottle is fantastic fir lots of cleanjng jobs. I love it on the worktops in the kitchen. Dont recommend it for polished wood but you can wash the basin in the bathroom and the toiletBUT NEVER USE BLEACH WITH IT OR YOU GET OVERCOME WITH POISONOUS FUMES. YOU CAN USE VIN AND WATER FOR CLEANING THE KITCHEN SINK. AND LOADS OF SURFACES. IF YOU PUT SOME NEAT WHITE VINEGAR IN THE FABRIC SOFTENER BIT OF THE WASHING MACHINE... YOU DONT NEED THE FAB. SOFTENER. AND ITS GOOD FOR DESCALING KETTLES (I THINK..) THOUGH IVE NOT TRIED IT YET FOR THAT.

    Ooo please do a declutter of your daughter’s wardrobe! I think that would be so satisfying! With the speed kids grow I bet you would be able to get rid of loads to the charity shop. I think if you had less stuff in there your daughter would be able to keep on top of putting more away herself…. It must be quite difficult for her to do it now. Maybe that would take a bit of pressure off you aswell.

      Hi definately a terrible habit you are setting your daughter on many fronts,a its k not tokeep your things tidy ,b to have no value in her belongings,i would say it is paramount you break these habits you are forming with her and clear out all her clothes,i have one daughter and can guarantee you second hand clothes no matter how precious to you have little to no re sale value,make her room a priority ,you will get a lot of satisfaction ✊👏🫶Lizzie

      @@williamhawthorne1375 thanks for your comment. My Mum kept clothes for me which my daughter then wore 👍🏻
      Have to disagree about retail value if I put them on eBay they would sell very well because of the brand. She doesn't go to that bottom draw at all and doesn't know what I'm keeping as there are also things in the draw that are too big for her so in this drawer until she's bigger!

    I'm guessing your mom gave you those things because she didn't want to deal with them, so she passed the "burden" on to you just like you passed the "burden" of the juicer on to you dad. I would do what you told your dad to do with the juicer if he didn't want it and give the items to charity. Tell your mom, so she knows, just in case she wants them back instead, but I doubt she will. They have taken too much of your brain real estate, with the worry and wonder, not to mention real estate in your home. It's time to say goodbye. Someone else will want them for their collection and you will be doing yourself and them a huge favor. You work so hard to keep maintaining your home, surely you don't need more things to deal with. The more you can declutter, the less you have to clean, organize, or question why you have it in the first place. Regarding getting hair in the vacuum. I burnt out the motor on the section of the vac that holds the roller bar. Trying to get a replacement but the company has not been helpful, so yes, I have the same problem. That's my stick vac. My Dyson has the same problem, and it takes me forever to get the hair out of that roller. Ugh! You're not alone.

    • @gettingtidy2495
      @gettingtidy2495  6 місяців тому +2

      Oh my goodness did not consider the motor could be burnt out!!
      The items my Mum brought me round were the items I kept when we cleared out my great Aunt's house. My name was on everything so my Mum brought round the bag with my name. In 1989 I wanted these things 🤣🤣

    • @raneemilliman7130

      Sorry about the confusion on the items from your moms. I was thinking they were hers originally. My mistake. And, yes, our tastes definitely do change. I won't bore you with how many and what changes I've had in my lifetime. There have been a lot. 😉

    • @gettingtidy2495
      @gettingtidy2495  6 місяців тому +2

      @@raneemilliman7130 no problem, you're right in relation to the "burden " by giving things to others it's easier to get rid of them .... Sometimes I want to give to charity as I don't want to see the items again.
      Years ago I gave my daughter's clothes away and the Mum friend then sent me photos of her child wearing them. I wished I hadn't given them. Strange to have a connection to things but I guess it's the connection to that memory?
