Thank you, the most useful video on UA-cam where one can see every details of where the cable should be guided in the CX-5! It helped a lot for me with my dash cam installation.
Any operational downsides to using the obd port? I have a viofo with hardwire kit but not sure im confident to wire it in fully, i.e. without using fuse taps. I'm weighing up ordering an obd adoator versus fuse taps..
Great instruction video! definitely looked much easier than it was on my VW. Did you add an external fuse holder to your hardwired circuit? or did you tap into the outgoing circuit after the fuse?
What's the name of the tool you used to fish the rear camera cable through the B pillar and through to the rear hatch? Also, is the process the same for the passenger side outside of routing the hardwiring cable?
Another question, on my 2016 cx5, the top of the plastic trim surrounding the third side window that meets the headliner is divided into two sections instead of being one continuous section like at 3:07. What's the best way to get around that obstacle? Can I just snake the wire through the headliner to the rear?
I have a problem since you are an expert☺️ in dash cam. When I activate the parking mode in Time-lapse with the viofo a229 pro camera, I return to it after 5 hours and am surprised that it has stopped. Is there a problem? Although it is late at night from 12 midnight to 5 am, it has stopped, knowing that the weather during this period is not hot Car Honda Accord 2019
@@iRayan3 yes for consistency of parking mode look at Blackvue battery pack, iroad powerpack pro 12, thinkware ivolt xtra or etc. Keep in mind you do need to drive to charge these battery packs up
Where did you wire the acc cable for parking mode? Also it didn't look like you fused the positive input to the cam. While there nothing wrong with splicing the ground wire into the factory wire why not just use the terminal ring already on the hardwire kit and bolt it to the ground point that's right there?
Hello, What are the Pros and cons of the cameras you have on your website vs Vantrue? Do you have an install video on a Lexus NX with side aribag? Thanks
@@srinip825 Well an N5 is a 4 channel dash camera. So if you need 4 channels then Viofo does not compare. Max it will support is 3 channels. if you are talking about image sensors, Viofo has better video quality, and better parking mode capabilities as you can limit the parking mode timer to reduce wear and tear on your car battery.
@@SafeDriveSolutions I watched your videos and love it. I will explore Viofo a bit more. If you will benefit from me buying Viofo through your amazon link, please let me know. I can do that. I can go with 3 channels. For parking, I watched your other videos and asked a question about the USB battery bank with cig lighter options. I may go with that since I don't mind the few minutes of inconvenience of charging at home. What about using AGM SLA with smart charger and use that instead since they are capable of handling the heat ? Thanks again

Airbags do not trigger unless ignition is on and there is impact to the vehicle. Its been many years since airbags deployed with ignition off. So no the battery is not disconnected

OBD2 Power Adapter DANGEROUS? (Is it safe to use the OBD port for power?)

Great instruction video! definitely looked much easier than it was on my VW. Did you add an external fuse holder to your hardwired circuit? or did you tap into the outgoing circuit after the fuse?
Tge thinkware hardwire cable has inline fuses already. Viofo, vantrue and other brands we need to add fuseholders inline.
What's the name of the tool you used to fish the rear camera cable through the B pillar and through to the rear hatch? Also, is the process the same for the passenger side outside of routing the hardwiring cable?
Meg 20 from vim tools
It should be same process on passenger side. We always go driver side though

What's the name and source of the special tool used to remove the liftgate grommet? I asked a Mazda Service tech and he didn't know. Thanks!
you can use a 4140, or a normal plastic panel popper tool. Just remember you dont pry up. if you do that you will break those clips.

it probably is low battery protection. Honda vehicles have small batteries and are not to be recording for long periods of time on a regular basis

Acc wire back side of fuse box. The wiring has fuse holders in line. There was no ring terminal for ground so we soldered.
