The driver who led police on a high-speed chase through downtown Houston in the middle of rush hour traffic was a 15-year-old boy who took his mother's car without permission, authorities said.
The chase started shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday around the area of I-45 and the North Loop. Police said OnStar helped track down the vehicle and were ultimately able to shut it down.

The red car from earlier was his Mom and she was pissed. 🤣
Good for her, at least she cares
Hes got a “Felony Evading “at 15! Great start to a nice career!
All of this police action involving a 15 year old young man who stole his mother's car will definitely make his chances of getting employed later on in his life will impact his life for sure
a young NASA protégée
How can someone be such a good driver at just 15 is it from gaming?
Yep
Officers excellent job thank you for serving and protecting 👏 🙌 🙏 ❤
I love how the reporter almost blames hypothetical pedestrians for ‘not paying attention’ 😅
Remember people,... Rockstar games won't pay for your bail or legal fees!!!🤔
Before the police chase, the 15 year old was playing gta v being chase by cops. So he decided to try it in real life with real cops by stealing his mother's car.
Apparently his mother has never said to him "I gave you life, I can take it away".... with the.... look
At 22, I gave some kids in my retail store "the look" to get them to stop goofing around.
One of the ladies I worked with asked me "How did you learn that... you don't have kids. You can't have the look... that only comes with experience."
82 mph. Come to CA. The crazy runners here drive at 120-130 mph
I was going to say they keep saying 70mph is a very dangerous speed! So let me get this right the kids basically driving the speed limit but you want to overdramatize everything!! Kid should just use this as evidence to get his license, he's driving better than half the dumbasses I encounter on the road everyday
One 15 year old, 3 choppers 10+ police cruisers 1000s of people in danger no one with a set of balls to stop him.
Mom is happy about her car. Not normal 2681.
California cops are very softie. They don't go on attack mode. Plus, they didn't know it was a 15 year old kid.
This is in Houston TX!
@@fonlai8721 So Texas cops are softies too.
@@fonlai8721that’s California lite.
Now I’m jonesing for Olive Garden salad and breadsticks 😂
I started sneaking my Mother's car out to drive at 13. Never got in trouble, or caught. I just wanted to drive and was willing to do it nicely and safely. The kids does not have the same goals.
Looks like momma had last word😂
🤣😂
Most of what is happening in todays world with all these kids and young adults is a direct affect of taking the ability to discipline children aways from their parents in the last 25-30 years… no other explanation
Once the parents don't give their children tough love, expect them to live a roller coaster way of life.
dam straight 👌
All 3 of you trying to talk at the same time. Slow down, we can see what’s happening.
yEA, the guy kept talking over the female. Gee, I guess he is in charge!!
@@debianderson598 I came here to say this. Damn. I don't think I can finish the video with all his talking over her. It's super annoying and rude.
@@alyssawright1980 😭😭😭😭😭
I muted them, annoyed by their voices. Let us watch and we can see what’s happening
I hate commentators! Theyre treating this like it were a sports activity!
It’s funny how you think 80 mph is super fast. Haha ! Our normal is 70 & 80 here
Way to give Olive Garden free advertising!
Someone's getting grounded until they're old enough to retire.
I love these "I/we don't know" chases. 🤣
Yeah we know. Lol
When I was 15 I never would ever think of doing this if. I had I knew that when my parents got ahold of me I was a dead body walking so I would have driven until I was out of gas but that was 50 years ago times where different
Why do they keep trailing him instead of surrounding and blocking him
LAPD are paid like taxi's by the mile...
Incompetence! They should have never let it go on so long and no way should they have let him get into downtown with lots of traffic and pedestrians!!!
Headed to West Dallas juvi.. Probably for an hour or two only.. Momma better hide her keys!
Wow this is crazy … His mom need to tell the cops to put some fear in him lock him up in the cell for the whole weekend so he can see what jail like is because he might think it’s a joyride now but if someone was harm or a fatal accident it’s no coming back from his senseless act… jail life is REAL!!!
Stop putting this on news.Just like streaking.
REALLY ---> AGAIN THIS SOON?????!!!!!!!!! Is there something in the water??? And can we say, "STOLE" his mom's car??? I feel like that's a STRONG word for the situation.
This is actually an old chase. It occured on Mar 18, 2021. Digging your faux outrage though.
You new to this or something? It's a daily thing to have chases....I'm not even from there and I know it. 😂
@@CranberryFo Not digging your stupidity and ignorance.
Adult crime, adult time.
He mad because the Olive garden is closed!
The police should just let his mom take care of him, she's probably pissed! Lol
Pants dangling halfway off...yup the ' Usual Suspects '
Who's the "usual suspects"? Just asking.
Where I live the usual suspects look very pale, sagging pants too. I was starting to think it was a cultural thing.
@@user-qk1uy9uj2m Are you ignorant? Just asking.
@@user-qk1uy9uj2mthugs with pants dangling half off. Don’t read more into it than is there. If you are insinuating something about color the driver was white.
TBH I'm impressed a 15 yr old knew where the hazards were - I still can't figure out where mine are!
Hazards? Oh...flashy yellows. Gotcha. It's not so much WHERE they are. As it is, WHY I'd use them. I've been driving 60 years. Have never used flashy yellows. I'm 77. So now I never turn off my blinker. 😊
Now ya'll remember he is innocent until proven guilty. 🤣
It's not called a near miss, it's called a near hit
Thx OnStar
Media should quit exposing this kind of news. Gives others ideas!🤬
Guess I’m getting used to the LA chases. But the helicopter reporter and news anchors are…awful! But I guess they only cover these once in a while.
I was going to say they keep saying 70mph is a very dangerous speed! So let me get this right the kids basically driving the speed limit but you want to overdramatize everything!! Kid should just use this as evidence to get his license, he's driving better than half the dumbasses I encounter on the road everyday
70 is fast on the highway? Tf speed yall drive ?
he is just a good boy, a young scholar with a 4.5 GPA going
to med school. what a shame the police harassed him
on his way to bible studies.
You have now past your test 😂
A training tape on how not to cover a police chase from the airship.
GREEN MILE for this kid "DEADMAN WALKING" when momma gets ahold of him.
Where can I find the full chase
Mom will drop the Charges.
She does not have that option.
I hate policies that prolong the chase. They had several opportunities with limited danger to others.
N we watch the chase when the camera cant keep up with him and it pans so far away?
Cuál es el promedio de millas que se recorren durante una persecución antes de que detengan al infractor
70 is average in California 80+ normal.😂
Red car @ 13:10 lol
I think the red car was mama trying to catch up to him 🤣

What state are they in
Don't run red lights because there may be a police chase coming your way. wtf
23:58 Then zoom-in on The Olive Garden for all the salad and bread sticks you can eat. 🥗🥖
Well there goes that learners permit!!
Kid should just use this to get his license, hes driving better than half the dumbasses I encounter everyday!
They'll do their homework in the jail.
Oj got away with it
"Acting out" is the behavior of a person who's actually in crisis, being so severely lacking in meaning, and in compensating strategies, and in confidence in the soundness of gaining attention by doing positive things; they do something outlandish and they do it quite publicly, to attract negative attention. It usually occurs in young people, but more and more, nowadays in America, it can be seen in any age group.
It is a desperately sad state. It might approach suicide in the most serious manifestations. It can become addictive.
It also can appear to be simple mischievousness and clowning, but don't be fooled by that. It's quite serious.
BRO THOUGHT HE SHOULD TRY IT OUT GTA V AND GET AWAY WITH IT THINKING IT WAS SO EASY
The police vehicle/cars escorting to the suspect or what ? Why so inefficient police in this country. Why cant some police car go front of suspected car to block him to continue his travel ?
Smh...
thisis old ... should put date of chase in your title
He must have the donuts
It's just funny how the first kid never ended up flat on the pavement, but kid number two ended up flat on the pavement, and the officer on his back seemingly roughing him up smh 25:25
This should not be a chase, they know who he is and where he lives. Stop risking lives.
Never made it to the beach party
little dude thought he was playing GTA give him a break. JK.
He could be headed to crystal beech to take the ferry
🤡🤡
His friend too
I see red light runners by people not in police chases at almost every single intersection so I always look both ways even when my light is green. Had that red car pulled to the right shoulder before he got to the cop trying to spike it would have forced the car to the sticks. I doubt that was a cop and I think one of the other units stayed with it when the guy went into the lot.
You need to stop interrupting.
Get closer! Stop the commercials.
If these reporters had a brain they might be dangerous!
Not necessary to keep interruptions.
People always want to blame something other than the person for their ignorance and stupidity. Playing the blame game doesn’t solve a damn thing. Giving ignorant people what they deserve and holding them accountable now that’s a different level. My point is no damn video game has ever told an ignorant person hey go out and do that in real life because if you die you get a do over.
70 miles is not dangerous if you're not a drive.
I was going to say they keep saying 70mph is a very dangerous speed! So let me get this right the kids basically driving the speed limit but you want to overdramatize everything!! Kid should just use this as evidence to get his license, he's driving better than half the dumbasses I encounter on the road everyday
ITS A BENZ CAR

Funny enough this only happens in the US like 80 / 90% xDD In Europe i never saw something like that before
Greetings from Germany xD
Teens don't need to steal parents cars because Europe has quite a good Public Transport
How many more times are you going to cut Tammy off dude. Mute yourself. She is trying to tell you this man just cuts her off. Then the woman is talking so slow we dont know where he is. WE KNOW ITS DANGEROUS. This station pisses me off if they would stop talking so we can hear helicopter. Then they act like they know where the car is then ask Tammy where are they now. Go do your other programs. Let Tammy talk without you interrupting. We are watching. Dont need stations commentary. Mute your microphones when you are talking to others. 🤦🏼♀️ Let her talk to us. STOP INTERRUPTING TAMMY. DAMN
Go to your room
I got a feeling his insurance is going to be a little higher when he gets that next quote. This stuff is an epidemic now.
Seriously if they was truly trying to get this driver to stop they would go way ahead of him and shut down the whole freeway. If the law slows down the freeway and make it come to a halt they have a better chance of ending it safely.
Passenger bad influence
This is a joke your police force need to go on a advanced driving course . Multiple times they could have boxed him in .
poor quality footage
The flashing pixels caught the speeding pixel in the end.

It's 2024, why post a video at only 360p quality?? Unwatchable low resolution.
why didn't the cop block him in around 5:30 mins when he was behind the ute with the campervan. Could have been all over
