What a great discovery this channel is! Nice to hear some adjacent conversation about art, design and philosophy and not only 'what this new release smells like'. I'm by no means an expert nor an 'intellectual voice' but it seems to me that the postmodern point of the 'fall of grand narratives' is another attempt to totalize the contemporary social/human condition and it's been captured by global capitalism with great cinicism: we can no longer say there's BAD fashion, art, music, perfume, etc as long as it SELLS. The personal opinion is more individual than ever yet the consenssus isn't and never was (by authority then, by something else now). Anyway, pardon my ramble, I felt I needed to drop a few lines about this lol. Cheers!
I agree with the Abloh take. I recognize his importance but he basically stole soooo many designs, including from native cultures and young designers, I’m surprised he was not called out for it more.
I actually love Santal 33 and most similar fragrances but this is a completely miss for me. It’s like joining two incompatible and completely different fragrances into one.
I think that 3% rule sometimes works in an amazing way, sometimes it absolutely failes. His The 10 Nike collaboration was a great example on how to do 3%, but in perfumery its almost like copying and being lazy, doesnt work most of the time imo
Your preamble applies to probably 90% of modern fragrances, especially niche brands or so-called 'high end' (lol) designer fragrance lines. I think most people just want to smell more or less the same as everyone else, and it feels kinda cool to drop $250-400 on something 'exclusive' oOooo. I just feel bad for the general consumer, who hasn't wasted as much of their time as people in the hobby have, and who don't know that most of these scent profiles can be found elsewhere for twenty bucks.
Well done review. Surprising. I thought Pharrell might have done something interesting. Maybe wanted to something commercially successful out the gate before doing something creative? We’ll see.

U recommend this over Santal ?
@@Panthere.vision I wouldn't recommend either but this is fresher and less complex.

I could not stand this release. It's also because I loath Santal 33 LOL.
I enjoy your thoughts. Don't ever stop.
There will come a time in which he must stop.
