Did you try Lush Lust in your Jasmine hype?
I love your videos, very simple and easy to understand. No clickbait sensationalism....I am glad you have several great explanation of my favorite brand, Frederic Malle. would be interested to know more about Xerjoff ... thank you
Wow, this is quite the variety of frags!
Also, if Angel Olsen was a perfume, which one would she be?
@@OrrisEros Oh gosh I thought about this way too long! First thought was Comète because it's beautiful and ethereal but it feels maybe too pretty. Maybe Cuir d'ange? Beautiful but also of the earth. Direct perfume/music comparisons are hard!
@ ohhhh Cuir D’ange is a great answer!!! I was thinking Iris Cendre for some reason.
@ I like yours even better! There is a smokiness to her voice and the old glamour of iris, perfect!
Would love to try Amouage Jubilation 40
I have the Cartier X I I, which is also good 👍.
@@user-bg9ws7ys4k yes me too, like it a lot!
Love, love Angel Olsen and that song is truly beautiful. Very much enjoyed your perfume review too. I did that dream half awake/asleep thing with Nick Caves Ghosteen a few years back. Used it as going to sleep music. It imprinted in such a way that when I saw him perform tracks from it at at live concert I burst into tears of sweetness and sadness. Wonderful.
@@lindaf4103 Thank you! Aw wow so cool to hear from someone else who had a memorable half asleep musical experience!
What is the one from Cartier
@@JaydenTheAntisocialite Must Parfum in the red bottle and XIII toward the end.
I really enjoy your thoughtful videos and appreciate your honesty in expressing your dislikes, especially of releases that get a lot of love from others. I also love Angel Olson! Happy new year!!
Forgot to mention that that Le Lion is my favorite perfume atm. It’s just exquisite and addictive.
Wow, you have very good taste! Pourpre d’Automne and Iris Poudre are in my top 15 for life. I was very sad to hear they decided to discontinue Pourpre d’Automne 😢 I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year ✨ ♥️☺️❤🥳
@@redcupidbowlips3793 Thank you!
where can we find your music?
You have 3 of my favs there… Le Lion + Comete and Frederick Malle.
@@_TANBEE Great minds think alike! 😂
Shalimar is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year so I’m really hoping they will bring out something special! Happy New Year and thanks for your always so honest and well put reviews! You calling some indie perfumes messy really described what I wasn’t able to articulate yet, it’s also a feeling I get with many of the „natural“ perfumes.
@@Mariam_2909 Ooh I hope so too! Thank you!
The something special will probably only be available to the top 1%
@ Let’s hope it won’t come to that :D I‘m sure there will be some kind of flanker for us plebs, I mean Guerlain has released one yearly for the last years without a jubilee 🍀
Got my cuir mauresque coming this week. Can’t wait!
@@NotstarvinMarvin Nice, hope you like it!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these! I appreciate your honesty and your thorough descriptions. Happy New Year!
@@kevvermeister thank you, Happy New Year!
“Oh gosh there’s four of them” actually lol’ed. Great video, inspired year! My New Years Day scent is Jubilation 40, which I got after your vid. Loving it. Where is the Indigo store you mentioned? And love when you throw in a non perfume insight! Todays music! Keep em coming! Happy New Year!
@@orosz4001 😂 thanks!! I think Indigo is in Ohio but I've just ordered from them online. They've stocked some houses that I've not found anywhere else in the U.S. like Ånd and Boujee. I almost went with Jubi 40 for NYE as well, Happy New Year!
🎉⭐ 🎊🥂🎆
Great video. I hope you have a fantastic 2025!
@@mikeczyz thank you!
Perfumer H was one of my favourite discovery of this year, even though the house's DNA is too apparent thus making the scents feel abit repetitive.
@@minhnguyenquang7220 nice! I agree, there's a lot of redundancy in the line and I think I'm good with the ones I've got now. I do still want to try the newer one Saddle though!
@@cheapimitation2242 I find it too ambery/ vanillic for my taste, it also doesn't really evoke the sense of a horse saddle or equestrian in general. But as a standalone perfume, I supposed it should be a commercial hit. Parfum d'Empire does have interesting equestrian- related scents though.
Great Overview with a nice mix! I completely stopped buying sample sets except for the Amouage Essence Trio.. think will try to keep it that way if I can get individual samples or get to test at a boutique..
@@pradeep_sekar thanks! Yea, boycotting expensive sample packs in 2025! 😂
I am a fan of Celine so I will be interested in testing this. I've grown fond of more 'simple to wear quality' scents. The local BV store isn't sure if they will bring them in and asked me to call back in 3 months time (not a good sign IMO).
They had an olive 🫒 frag in their higher end line that got axed that I never got to try. Oh yeah and I never was big into fashion but I always liked that bottega green haha
Great review. I mostly agree with your opinion on these creations. Imagination is pretty good fresh scent actually with very prominent tea note at least to my nose. Try it see if it works.
Great reviews. I love the fashion back story you bring. It really sets you and your commentary apart from the fragrant pack! Looking forward to more in 2025! Happy New Year!
@@orosz4001 Aw thanks so much! Happy New Year!
Happy to see you review the new Bottega fragrances. I’m not sure if it was mentioned, but one of the SAs had told me that the fragrances are supposed to represent different times throughout the day. I believe it starts with come with me and ends with alchemie. But in any case, really enjoy your reviews on fragrance. Happy holidays! 😀
@@eddyt81 The Bottega SA I had didn’t seem to know much about them so he didn’t tell me that about the times of day! Makes sense though as they do seem to get darker if you follow the order presented in the discovery kit. Thanks and happy holidays!
The next time I come to NY, I’m looking you up.. You can show me some of the clothing places I’ve been missing..
@@antoniohopson5287 😂
What're your thoughts on their older releases? Pour Homme, etc.
@@VitaminBeez Shamefully I’ve never tried them! 😳
Carnal Flower is my favourite fragrance in my entire collection - thank you for discussing it
So great. Thx. I’ve have all of these. I love them and wear them. I wore Therese last week!
Profumum Roma's Patchouly is my favorite probably followed by Luten's Borneo. I got a sample of Coromandel and am trying to gaslight myself into not liking it because the price is outrageous. I really want to sample the Demeulemeester, too!
Great reviews. I’m a big fan of the house. Musc Ravaguer, l’eau d’hiver, Eau de Magnolia, noir epices, geranium pm, the moon and lys mediterainee are my favourites. All so unique. I’ll need to try Therese - is the leather prominent? It’s a note that scares me away. Cassie was amazing one wear and then pissy another wear. Did you find that?
@@lansvale28 Thank you! The leather is very subtle if not totally imaginary in Therese, I can smell the suggestion of it but probably wouldn't notice it if I didn't know. Cassie has never really gone pissy on me but I can imagine where that aspect might come from in the frag, I'd think maybe warm or humid weather might pull that out.
@ cheers for the reply. I’ll give them both a go.
Personally I have to say that Heaven Can Wait has become one of my top five from Frederic Malle. That being said…I’ve noticed that the newer bottles have different atomisers, as well as the plastic tube not touching the base of the bottle. I thought this to be an irregularity however when I exchanged it for another bottle it still had that same “issue”? Have you also experienced/noticed this? I’ve only see in with Heaven Can Wait as I suspect the change only occurred in the past year or two.
Great Overview! They have done some great florals indeed, enough to have them as references
@@pradeep_sekar yes! Many floral references from Malle indeed!
Great review of the line as always!
@@perroli thank you!
@@cheapimitation2242 What do you think of the current Musc Ravageur ? It's one I'd like to add back to my collection but last time I tried it was 2017.
Love carnal flower but it’s too much for me to wear. Fougere Emeraude is a pretty great tuberose.
Which one is similar to Chanels gardenia
@@Oakmosslover Ahh I have to say none of them are like Chanel Gardenia. Maybe Lys Mediterranee is closest in terms of the feel but it’s a totally different smell.
Really liked your take on reforms it's so tiring how some think everything newer is worse/butchered and a shadow of it's former self. Things change and life is short get over it
@@markgallacher4217 Thank you, I totally agree!
Great content. As of tuberose: did you try Vierges et Toreros, ELDO? Fenomenal, kind of masculine tuberose.
@@marhoc6040 Ooh I haven’t even heard of that one and I have the ELDO “almost” complete discovery set. Will look into it!
incredible perfume...
Tubereuse Couture 17 by Pierre Guillaume and narcotic v from nasamatto are my favourite tuberoses. Profumum Roma’s Tagete is behind.
Thanks for this! From the line, I’ve only smelled POAL and Musc Ravageur but am definitely interested in more, particularly Carnal Flower. Have you smelled Tauer’s Golestan? I wonder how they compare.
@@nathanielmoody3656 thanks for watching! I haven’t tried the Tauer but it sounds nice!
Absolutely beautiful description of perhaps the only olfactory garden worth buying in the era of oxymoronic “niche” mass market expansion. I am sooo happy you mentioned School of Life, it may have saved my life in some metaphorical sense. Iris Poudre is an object of abstract art, I cannot see why it’s an iris but in the same time the choir of notes present itself as iris.
@@Tarek0189 Thank you, love your description as well! Yay another School of Lifer, some of those videos really helped me through a difficult breakup several years ago, it’s great stuff.
On my buy list: Spiriteuse double vanille, but I don't trust the new version. Serge Chergui and 5 o'clock au gingembre
In my experience Guerlain does a great job keeping the smell exactly the same even through bottle/name changes. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the price! 😂
Great selection of new perfumes! I recently bought Sketch as well and I love it! Perfect for the season now. My package with the two Serge Lutens you mentioned is already waiting to be picked up at the post office, I am excited to smell those since it was a blind buy for me but I guess I can work with these 2 in any case 😂
Nice! Hope you enjoy the Lutens!
Awesome haul!
Nice spinny thingy on your candle 🕯️ ⭐✨⭐
😂
I love listening to you! ♥️💖❤️🙏🏼♥️💖❤️
Thank you!
High yield haul. I agree with all of your points about the Dior Homme line. Dior Homme silver stem is the pinnacle of post 2000 designer perfumery. Sadly it is becoming a unicorn on the secondary market. Dior Homme Original is a cost effective alternative. You convinced me to suck it up and buy the current formulation of Amber Sultan sold by discounters.I’ve been sitting on a decant of the current formulation for 2yrs, which I love. sadly older formulations are becoming too hard/ or $$$ to purchase.
Man I struggle with Dior Homme Parfum. I enjoy the scent, but I straight up don’t know when to wear it. Every time I wear it, it feels out of place. Bel Ami Vetiver however I LOVE, one of the best purchases I made last year that I didn’t really wear much until this year. I find it to be quite warm, gentlemanly, cozy and inviting. I struggled at first with it as well. Now a year later when I can actually get some more wears in I really enjoy it quite a bit. Thank you for sharing some of your thoughts and Merry Christmas!
DHP is a winner for me. I wore Valentino Uomo Intense for a while, but the vanilla became cloying and synthetic to my nose. DHP is so much smoother, and I personally enjoy the dark sweetness of the fragrance. Even as a collector's item, I'm glad to have had it before the 2025 version takes over.
Nice! Love the Ambre Sultan scent memory. What did you switch to in Miami? Did you do 1 for the trip or mix it up?
Somehow I totally forgot what else I wore until now! 😂 I knew I had brought something else unique for hot weather, and it was a mini of Cartier Oud Radieux! Really enjoyed it even more than in cooler weather. Didn't take the Ambre Sultan with me since I got the honkin big bottle, but the scent stuck to my sweatshirt the whole time and was beautiful and cozy on the flight home! Also took with me a sample of Nishane Ege I wanted to use up, loved the opening but the base goes too much down the blue shower gel path, glad I never got a bottle because I remember being tempted when I first tried it.
Great video! Wearing Ambre Sultan today and it’s just so perfect, not too sweet but still warming and a little bit spiritual. A video about scent and colour is a great idea, most of the time when a perfume smells pink I can’t take it, so I was relieved that Eau de Magnolia smells like the pink and white petals, the leafs and the wood all at once for example :D
The colours I would love to hear your thoughts about scent matches for would be black, white and maybe the translucent yellow-white colour of sun rays
Thank you! Yea Ambre Sultan's greatness is in the way it gets exerything just right, so well balanced!
Love to see a 2024 pick up round up?
Planning on it!
