Lzzy Hale, Amy Lee, Amy Reagan, Floor Jansen, & Jennifer Cella are some of the best in the Rock genre to me. I’d like to see any of them do a duet with reba McEntire on the song “Does He Love You?” I can see both Amy Lee and Jennifer dueting with Sara Evans too.
What I love about this, is when you take out all the extra stuff or "unplugged " as we call it, they still sound as powerful and legit in their music. I've heard other artists without the synthesizers and edits and the sound is either wispy or out of tune. Great job ladies!
Two artists listening to one song; both react in a different way. One reacts at the desperation emitted by the vocals. The other smiles at the feeling of freedom at the ending buildup. Whichever angle you look through will affect your reaction. Lzzy hears the desperation of the character to know freedom from the feeling of fear. Lindsey understands the feeling of finally being set free from an endless cycle of pain and humiliation. Whose reaction can you relate to?
The reason Lindsey look free and Lizzy has her eyes closed goes back to them recording the song in the first place. If you watch the making of the song Lindsey opens up to Lizzy that this song is about her breaking free from her eating disorder. Lizzy went back into the booth and belted out shatter me with her eye closed.
Lzzy Hale brought me to Lindsey Stirling. Incredible vocalist teamed with an awe-inspiring violinist to create a near-perfect song that deserves a lot more mainstream recognition than it has received.
OMG! I thought I was the only one who thought that, I am a metal head, but Love Pink what a voice, YES! Lizzy it right there and does not get credit enough for her voice powerful, crazy range!
The thing I love most about this song is that Lindsey genuinely did not know who Lzzy even was prior to the recording. Amy Lee was initially slated to do the vocals and suggested Lzzy when her touring schedule made the recording impossible. Lzzy's raw vocals power this song every bit as much as Lindsey's emotional playing.
@@Darkswordz Amy's version is pretty good too, and it gives a real nice contrast between their styles. Lzzy's strong voice turns it into a power anthem, while Amy's softer vocals makes it more introspective.
Great version of a great song. Lzzy is a really good live singer, hard to find these days, and Lindsey is just amazing. She needs to collaborate with more singers on original songs in the future, maybe an entire album like Santana did with Supernatural.
Lindsey has written a new song called Firefly in which she is singing.. I do know that she is taking time off from touring in September to finish writing and recording her new album and I believe she is writing more songs besides Firefly in which she is singing..

As a kid, I was taught, often by anger, not to cry and don't talk about emotions. This song really hits me deep. I understand the lyrics to mean; Somebody make me feel vulnerable and break me free from the stoicism, somebody make me feel alive.. I cry and feel alive hearing the amount of passion sang in this song. I wish she could read this, just to know she's shattered me. Thanks Lzzy..
Actually, this was Lindsey's song. It was Lindsey's words. Lindsey just needed a strong voice for her words. Lindsey wanted Amy originally, but she couldn't. I think Lzzy is a better choice for the music video. When I found Lindsey, her life was not doing too well. Her Shatter Me video showed this very well. It was her most deepest and needed video she has ever done. In the video, Shatter Me, she had to find someone to help her shatter herself. It was very important to her. So much so that she even mouthed the words (1:47). Shatter Me is the name of her song, her video, her album, and her tour. The words ‘Shatter Me’ are sung 12 times, and she had Lzzy Hale sing because of her stronger voice. In fact, watch how she violins during her Child Of Light video. Her arm movements are more rigid and you can see the added pressure with her bow. Since there was no voice shouting the words, she made her violin shout them. Luckily...for everyone, The Lord Jesus showed up and helped her “shatter” herself…with some extra help from me. (Thank God!) 😂
what an incredible performance, no doubt! it's also funny that with an office space like a radio station, great things can happen and still people can totally casually walk by without noticing like you can see in the background at one point.😅
She's really a force to be reckoned with. Gods, what a voice. I dont think anyone has blown me away like that since Stevie Knicks. Lizzy is incredible.

Brilliant video, been looking for a good quality live version for ages. Lzzy has the most amazing voice. Her playing is soooo much better when she's not moving around. I know it's part of her show to dance, and that's fine, but the musical purist in me gets annoyed when sound quality is diminished by dancing, it's just like when vocalists are too busy dancing to sing properly, what's the point in being a musician if you don't exhibit your craft to it's full potential because you're doing something not musical?
Metalhead at heart but I don't mind dubstep. however I feel this song would be a lot better without the electronic elements. This performance made the song appear way more real. Maybe some orchestration in it's place with some heavy percussion? But that's just my opinion. Love'd the creativity on the original anyway
I love the fact that you can see all of them counting at the beginning, but once they get into the stride of the song, they play more off the emotions of the song 0:49
