Since this is essentially a helix, it may be a simpler workflow to construct the base mesh in Maya, Max, or Blender using the helix primitive and then send it over to ZBrush.
Hey next time can you explain what you are pressing I know this is the old version but you haven't explain how to press the spheres themselves in the beginning.
Thanks for the tutorial. :) Do you think this could apply to hair that's utilizing hair cards to get a realistic look? The outcome as it is now seems to be more of a sculpted look rather than appearing to be actual hair strands.
I agree that this is more a sculpted look, but I think it could be used as a base and add planes on top of it. In theory it could be possible to create hair cards that follow the shapes of the single strands, but I do not dare to say how the result would turn out. If you try it please share the result :)
I don't remember exactly how I did on this character but I think that I used a very large move brush and carefully moved it in big chunks so that it would not distort the details that I had made.
If you have R8, theres a deformer on the gizmo that will create a curve and you can edit that curve without having to deform the mesh directly. iI learned that trick from this video (its not a tutorial but you can follow along pretty well... ua-cam.com/video/dTuQ3ZZeFcA/v-deo.html
Stop using the taper .make your mesh seemless and then use as a curve and in curve function u can make it exactly like a braid hair :) . i made 8 braid hair curve brush and its selling good in artstation
