19 minutes is too short to fully show the history of Vietnam. But you have succeeded in portraying the basics of Vietnamese history. Thank you 👍

Very good video but please get rid of the communist red flags. Our ancient Vietnamese flags look very different and are still flown today. Thanks.

Our Vietnamese, who have been living in Vietnam, have chosen to follow the Communist Party. And we have chosen the red flag with a yellow star to represent our country. And who are you? What right do you have to write :"our ancient Vietnamese"?

Who told you we Viets choose to follow communism? The communists STOLE power and NO ONE elected them to rule Vietnam.
What to prove me wrong? Then hold MULTI-PARTY FREE elections that will be closely monitored by independent groups to see whether we Viets will choose freedom or communism.
Do you want to take my DARE?!!?! You KNOW our Vietnamese people will CLEARLY REJECT the hated communist dictatorship.

@ No one in Vietnam loves the corrupt communist dictatorship except the communist criminals themselves. Did anyone vote for them to remain in power? NEVER!!!
So less hold, free and transparent multi-party elections to see who we Vietnamese truly want to be our leaders.
We all know what the results would be: the communist CRIMINALS will be VOTED OUT of power. Do you DARE to take my challenge?

What is In the world are you talking about my ancestors?
They clearly taught us: before 0 AC, we only had 18 generations of Kings. Where is the 20,000 years of history?
The Ancient Egypt and Ancient China only had 10,000+ long history. Don’t mislead People 😂😂😂

@@Epl12312sorry, I don’t get your point of views. As far as I see, in America the Vietnamese people didn’t teach about kings and ancestors of their people but the flag of the last nation during 1919-1975.
Only in Vietnam that the people learned a tiny bit about cultures of Vietnamese identity.
However, Vietnamese is an ethnic group of main land China, but we didn’t teach our people of ancient ancestors in China to the Vietnamese people.
This point of views show that when we talk about Vietnamese people, we only speak up to 18 generations of kings before the time of 1000 years of slavery.
Let be generous 18 generations of kings = 1,800 years + 1000 years of slavery + 1000 years of current civilization = 3,800 years.
As a whole Asian people, we have 10,000 historical calculated from China history.
So never go around and say Vietnamese alone has 20,000 years.
      It is a lie.

@@jackminh2002Well, in England there was this figure called Boudica in a footnote in Roman records. But as there was nothing else interesting about England in Roman history, they just expand the story of Boudica from a few sentences footnote to be a whole fictional story that they now consider true history.
20,000 years is a long time to write a story. As long as people are happy with the feel good story, what does it matter.

My in-laws are from the South. The Communist party seized all of their assets that were earned by multiple generations of labor. The real economy was in the south. It was considered The Jewel of Asia before the communist got ahold of it and sold it to China. The country is still divided, they just aren't fighting anymore. Russian and Chinese Communism still occupy the North.

My paternal grandfather's family were large landowner at south of the Mekong. They got rich by collaborating with the French, and obtained important positions in the colonial administration by converting to Catholicism.
During the US-Vietnam War, my father was an officer in the ARVN Navy, not because he was competent, but rather because he came from a renowned family, as did my uncles, some of whom are colonels, at least on paper.
My maternal grandfather was a modest farmer from the Mekong town of Cai San. He had never wanted to work for the French, and his sons were Viet-Cong supporters, two of whom died in 1969.
You could say that my paternal grandfather's family were the "collabos", and my maternal grandfather's family were the "partisans".
Until his death, my father used to say “Death to the Communists! We must bring democracy to the country". At the same time, my mother laughed: “You're dreaming. Looser!”.

And since then, you are still bitter about losing the war and cannot accept the truth, so you can say such ignorant words. You should return to Vietnam once to see how the country you once betrayed has developed without you.
