    Here's a link to the Dettor Anti-Bacterial wet wipes I use in my video: Dettol : amzn.to/3OIwEoY . How do you remove the nasty green algae stuff? Share your tips below! Thanks.

    Nice one, last time I took my car to the wash, and asked them to make sure the green stuff was gone, they used pressure washers close to the windows and got water inside the actual door😢

      Hey thanks for the feedback. What a story with these guys And the high pressure washer! I hope there was no permanent damage? I keep that high pressure far away at a safe distance and not at Max force from those sensitive rubbers And strips. Hope the green stuff will stay away for some time and easier to remove from now on. Have a nice week ahead.

      It's normal to get water inside the door, check the drain holes are clear at the bottom of the door.

      True these drain holes are something not too many people know about. Definitely worth checking on everyone's car every season

    I tried this, but the wipes just just ripped so i used a thinish piece of long cardboard and a folded piece of a4 printing paper, both worked very well to remove all the leaves stuck probably for years (my driver's door has a big scratch on the window from a sharp leaf that scraped it) and ive never bothered to move it til now I did however use ur wet wipe trick over the cardboard without it ripping and the moisture removed all the dirt

      Cool that you managed to get it all out. I'm shocked at all what accumulates there over time. Removing it in multiple passes and having it clean is quite a satisfaction 😀

    I like to use a tool such as a bank card, driving license, or plastic paint scraper to form the wipe. It goes a bit faster that way and if the windows don’t go down all the way it can be easier to get inside. When the window does go down all the way, you can use a microfibre towel which is more sturdy and absorbent. Water only, though. But I might experiment with citric acid on my old car some time. The concern there is getting rid of the chemical after. It’ll kill the green stuff but becomes sticky and nasty if you don’t get rid of it all.

      Thanks for sharing your tip. The bank card is definitely creative and always available when needed. I will be giving that a try myself! Agree with you one needs to be cautious with chemical inside the strip. The green stuff made a return so I need to go at it again soon 😀 Have a nice evening!

      @@maximaalski I was just doing mine and looking to see if anyone was experimenting with chemicals and came across your video. Very good, thanks for posting. I’ll add it’s horrendous the crud that gets in the sill guards! Every time I end up losing a drying towel and gaining an oil rag! Only use cheap or old MF towels.

      Would never use a card it's too small it's deep under those seals also never use a license , the dirt grime dust leaves bird poo on ur license lol

    • @captainotto
      @captainotto 5 місяців тому +1

      @@sheznez Sounds like you would prefer the plastic paint scraper. I do too. But not everyone has one. I would say that the card or license both work and can be cleaned if you get them mucky. But I also agree that there’s gross stuff in the sill guards and it’s better to not get that stuff on them if you don’t have to.

    Would any wet wipe work?

    • @maximaalski
      @maximaalski  3 дні тому

      Hello yes absolutely. You can fold it easily and push it in the crease. As long as these wipes are nice and wet so you can get rid of all the stuck dirt and green stuff. Good luck 🤞

    what if the window doesn´t go down all the way ?

    • @maximaalski
      @maximaalski  8 місяців тому +1

      Yeah this is a problem. Then the wipes still clean in between the rubber strips on the outside and inside window part but it will take a bit more time. Afterwards I roll up my window slightly to also catch dirt on the lower window part.

    Would this remove the grit in between the window and the seal?
    Its scratching up my windows.
    Thanks

    • @maximaalski
      @maximaalski  2 місяці тому

      Hi! What do you mean exactly with grit? You mean like small dust and rock particles? A reverse indent kinda upside down tent shaped wet wipe in the crease may be able to lift some of that up. But I don't have experience with other particles. Maybe then the recommendation then would be to try to vacuum clean them out with one of those tips you can add to the vacuum cleaner with a narrow end. Else I would take it in to some garage and have it checked. Hope you can fix it yourself though, good luck and have a great weekend

    Dettol spray works well too👍

    • @maximaalski
      @maximaalski  6 місяців тому

      Cool! I haven't thought about that but I have dettol spray too! Do you spray it direct on the seal and in the gap or on a towel first? So good and effective for many purposes this dettol.

      @@maximaalski you can do both but you can soak it better if you spay it and it gets behind the rubber seal then I use a toothbrush before i wipe it off

    add some Lemon juice too if you can but try to avoid it on the paintwork.
