Reviving my cheap e46/ Project Broken Ep2

- Hello and welcome, today we are gonna diagnose and fix the crank no start issue on my cheap and neglected e46. We are also gonna change the spark plugs and unfortunately we will discover that the plugs are completely fouled out. Probably a combination of an air leaks, causing the engine to run bad and excessive oil burning, which is common on m54. Furthermore, we find some other issues for which I've already ordered some parts. I hope you could enjoy this video ! Thanks for watching and have a nice day.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!
Thanks! Will do!
like this type of videos, waiting for next parts.
@ex8k
That's nice to hear! This car won't dissapoint in the future episodes :)
You like the challenging cars, don't ya? I think you can sort it out! It is just going to be a fun, exciting journey!
@Darthvolvo
@Darthvolvo Exactly :) wheres the fun in repairing things if you can't see a difference :) Also it is more satisfying to see how far the car has come when it was really neglected in the beginning
Was this video entertaining to watch? Leave your thoughts down below :)
I've been watching your videos for quite a while, this was a good one too. You always call out shoddy work from past owners, stuff too tight, bad wiring, etc., it is good education for your audience to know about this, along with positive things of course.

Yes I remember your username, you've been watching my videos from the first 2 Episodes or so :) Thanks for the positive feedback :)
@@dailydrivenclassics46 No problem, I don't have a BMW, I have a Mercedes, but you make great videos! Cheers, Rob.
this car should a source of many vids 😁😁
@firedustman
For sure! There's lots to be repaired and many mods to be done 😇
truly neglected but it deserves saving. wiring issues are always a nightmare.

@TheSaemiProduction
Yes! I'm just wondering if the spark plugs are so bad because of the air leak causing it to run rich or because it is burning oil? But I'll get it sorted anyways :)
@@dailydrivenclassics46 sadly there are a lot of things that can make this engine burn oil... but you will find it.
@@TheSaemiProduction yea if its ccv related it will be fixxed. When its the piston rings im gonna try with chemicals. Not worth it to rebuild the engine on a b22 :/
@@dailydrivenclassics46 yeah sadly the 2.2 isn't that great. the older 2l version like in a E36at least sound better than one would expect.
@@TheSaemiProduction i prefer m54b22 over m52b20. At least it got a bit of power. The m52b20 has the power of a 4 cyl and consuption of a 6 cyl :(
This was an awesome watch. Having an e46, it's always encouraging to see a fellow wrencher!
@maxkarp6758
@maxkarp6758 Thanks :) Happy to hear that you liked the video :)
more expensive torque wrenches rarely translates into more accuracy. look it up. however, they will likely have more "features". like more wrench teeth. maybe nicer handles etc.
@Rimkus7 That may be true, i havent really looked into it. But I know i dont want to keep mine since it has play in the handle and it feels sketchy and not accurate:/ Thanks for the info!
I hate to say it, but this e46 should be used as parts car. Atleast it is more content :D
@tomassrdynko3908 Noo it has pretty much no rust and is to good to be parted out. I feel like most bimmers are parted out because of lack of motivation to repair and not necessity. So im gonna do the opposite of most youtubers and save the trashy cars instead of doing maintenance on otherwise perfect cars :)
@@dailydrivenclassics46 Kinda relate to that. So many people part these out and trow them away. Just stick to it and bring it back to life :) It's gonna be epic ;)
@@TheE46Guy :) Will do:) Actually, my plan with this channel is to bring many bad cars back on the roads. I want to save them from the scrapyard :)
Using aftermarket sensors for the engine is verboten! If you replace engine sensors get oem
@X226drvr
Nein! I m gonna try with Hella since siemens /vdo is not available. BMW original is too expensive for me. Also from what ive researched, it is only the air mass meter where oem is relevant since aftermarket sensors are not the same type of sensor as the original. Since the crankshaft sensor is only a regular Hallsensor in gonna try to go aftermarket :)
what app are you using to read the codes of ur car
@m9ij The app is called car scanner and is about as generic as it gets. Im sure there are better alternatives:)
@@dailydrivenclassics46 cant get worse than carly lmao
@@m9ij true :) i prefer inpa, but for a quick ecu check its allright
