As a vocalist I personally disagree I think mirar doesn’t need a vocalist and the mirar songs with vocals I tend to go back to less. But hey that’s just me!
EDM (Dubstep, Drum n Bass, Hardstyle) was always in Mirar's stuff. I think it shines through a bit more on this album. Also, Metalstep and stuff have been around for a while. There's a dude who used to play Skrillex and stuff on an 8 string here on UA-cam from like 10+ years ago. Also, in the case of Skrilex and Kordhell they came from heavy music and then infused it with their EDM
this album seems to incorporate a lot of what made 'Mare' special, but also adding in some dubstep and drum n bass elements that are quite unique. also, they used to have vocals on a couple singles, (ie Degenese) but I think I like this without vocals more.
I love you said that at 26:40, because I feel the same way. That whole section starting at 25:44 in this video, how it evolves melodically with the ethereal ambience, WOW. Peak thall section, along with their Hestehov riff the best things they wrote imo. I listen to Mirar for the nutty stuff and baroque progressions but when they ride/write a focussed section they can really hit the spot too.
I feel like listening to Mirar is just listening to a stream of consciousness jam. There are moments of synchronicity, harmony and intense experimental riffs that I would love to see incorporated into a more melodically structured song. Overall, their style has expanded my understanding of harsh sounds. But cohesively, it’s a bit jumbled, like a collage of sound ideas. It’s like hearing an endless array of ideas for insane structured breakdowns
This reminds me so much of the initial Vildhjarta release. Its so unique in its own way. Mirar is the only ones rhat seem to have truly grasped the Thall concept.

There's no doubt that this is the heaviest shit I've heard but something doesn't really click with me with this band is it the fact they are instrumental or it's alot of the same sounds and the whole album sounds like one big wall of noise the highlight for me is actually the atmospheric orchestral stuff
The moment I scrolled through UA-cam this morning and saw this just sitting there hit almost as hard as the opening riff Also I had to add, “there’s no shot this band can tour” bro my thoughts exactly lol like how

The two behind MIRAR’s music and production is second to none. Fantastic Thall work. The only personally critique I have with MIRAR, is, I don’t think there’s much variety in the songwriting. Each song kind of sounds the same with variations off the same progressions. It all sounds good, but… I just feel like it all begins to sound like one very long song. Maybe the drum grooves are also not as dynamic throughout, as a lot of it is just straight dubstep style beats.. again, it hits hard, but if MIRAR somehow took these aspects to its sound and didn’t rely so much on the screech melodies and the same low key note for the groove, I would think the music would stick out more. Just kind of a one trick pony. People will think I’m hatin.. let them. I praised them where I think MIRAR excels… I just have my personal gripes with some of the songwriting in the end. 🫡
what made mare work so well was the focus on ambience to carry the record’s flow. that’s still here, but not to the same extent. the outro of cauchemar is so far the best sequence of music they’ve done.
They are a very young band still, this is their first album after a few singles and a (pretty recent) EP. Tho I am still very much in love with current Mirar, you must wonder how their style will focus/evolve come next projects. They are killing their debut projects imo, great stuff. I think the songs on the EP are more diverse or uniquely flavored, but I haven't had time to give each song on the album a place in my head yet with 2 full listens and some repeats.
