I highly recommend having the lyrics handy when exploring Gojira. They have unique themes for metal, such as environmentalism and spirituality; often incredibly empowering.
Gojira is my favourite metal band, they play on the main stage in all the big metal festivals in the world, they deserve it because they are the best, the performance at the Olympics in Paris was absolutely phenomenal too, one of the most important moments in metal music history!🤘🤘
Joe loves to write double meanings in lyrics and song titles. This song is a spiritual exploration, with the result of his protagonist finding that the most important (heaviest) thing (matter) in the universe is love. It’s just beautiful, and unexpected from something wrapped in such a heavy package.
@@7ChaosBlack lol where the slime lives is a 3 note riff , nothing crazy about it .Oh we found the bitter morbid angel fans, meanwhile who wrote the drum pattern of the art of dying, it's been 20 years Gojira emancipated themself from morbid angel
One of my favorite Gojira tracks and one of most listened to on Spotify this year. Saw them live in October with Korn and both didn't disappoint at all.
Gojira is an excellent gateway band for the heavier genres. I can recommend their entire discography if im honest but if you want a place to start i'd try Gift of Guilt live at Brixton. Alternatively the From Mars to Sirius album is just great and you can pick any song from it and it will be awesome
Yes More gojira reaction to coming please they are the best metal band live performance out there you should check out gojira live version of their songs.
🤘 Want to dig into Gojira ? The melodic approach: Born in winter, Lowlands, Another World... (More of the recent stuff) The heaviest side: The heaviest matter of the universe, The art of dying, Clone... (More of the old stuff) The grooviest: Esoteric surgery, Vacuity, Amazonia... All of this: Silvera, Oroborus, Flying whales... Amazing live performances: Pray (red rocks), Backbone (Pol'and Rock), The gift of guilty (London)... ... Yeah, sorry but all the discography is great 😅
Awesome video keep up the amazing work 👍 and never heard of this song and band definitely will now 🤘 and hope you have a blessed and happy Friday ☺️🙏❤️
Hey hey, just found your videos today and watched a lot of them back to 2023 (your first ones i guess). I really like your reactions a lot and i do also enjoy them!! In terms of good voice/singing i saw you already found Devin and you might be interested in Opeth. “Ghost of Perdition” is one of their best songs and i would bet you could enjoy that one (they have much more good ones 🫠). Keep up the good work. Tobi
If you like heavy music with "switch ups" then Gojira is definitely for you. I recomend Oroborus, my personal favorite, it has more focus on the drums, but it has the same vibe as this one. There are so many Gojira songs that are must listen.
Massive massive gojira fan here. I recommend reacting to "The Axe". The "Live At Brixton Academy" version is even cooler because they added a section not in the original song but I understand if you want the studio version.
check out their live at red rocks, its a masterpiece, they make the songs sound even better live somehow. only pain, pray, the axe...literally any song you pick its a good choice
oh gosh....you haven't done much Gojira. You're in for a ride! Toxic Garbage Island, Born in Winter, My personal favorite FLYING WHALES. Gift of Guilt, Backbone, The Cell, Magma, Amazonia....oh lord.....The Axe,L Enfant Savauge.....the list could go on forever
Super fun HEAVY songs for your enjoyment in your free time… Pantera - A New Level Gnome - Ambrosious Spiritbox - Cellar Door Iwrestledabearonce - The Cats Pajamas
Me finding Gojira was kind of interesting. I always thought they were another generic nu-metal band, Leftover Korn I call that stuff. Was never my jam. I grew up listening to thrash, death metal and more traditional metal stuff, so that particular genre never really did much for me. I like SOAD and Deftones, but pretty much nothing else. Anyway, some friends kept recommending these guys and I was just blowing them off. Then, one morning I was in the mood to find some "new" music and their name popped into my head and I figured: Why not? I looked them up on UA-cam and there was a recent (at that time) performance at Hellfest, so I figured I watch a song and see what it was all about, still thinking it was going to be some Slipknot nonsense or worse. Well....I sat transfixed for the entire concert going WTF the whole time. This is more like Morbid Angel than Disturbed, what was I thinking? WHY did I think they were part of that scene? I still don't know why I ever had that association with them, but there had to be a reason. Either way, I was stupid and wrong, and Gojira fuckin RULES. If you really dug this, you should absolutely check out some classic Morbid Angel though, the whole middle part of this where it gets REALLY heavy is definitely a nod to them. Check out God of Emptiness or Where the Slime Live and basically anything from either of the albums those are from (Covenant and Domination respectively). It's technically heavier I guess? But not really. Not in any meaningful way at least.
Yes, while being mostly a classic rock fan, progressive grove metal is the metal that I most enjoy too. Gojira, Meshuggah, Mastodon and of course Jinjer with maybe a sprinkling of Animals as Leaders. I would add Opeth as the OG.
Gojira was my favorite band for a few years. I still listen to them alot, but they have taken a back seat to a newer and heavier metal genre called Thall. If you're liking it heavy, I would love to see you check out Humanity's Last Breath-Blood Spilled VildhJartA-Dagger SUBBING
The Gojira of my youth :) they got older now so they got softer , but when this came out ..was amazing ! check out "Oroborus " live eurockeenne 2009...2009 being prime Gojira or l'enfant sauvage !
Have you seen some stuff by a band 1914? I imagine you could already guess what their theme is about. If I had to suggest some songs, those would be those ones: Passchenhell; The Green Fields of France; The Hundred Days Offensive; Corps D'autos-Canons-Mitrailleuses (a.c.m).
I highly recommend having the lyrics handy when exploring Gojira. They have unique themes for metal, such as environmentalism and spirituality; often incredibly empowering.
Yes, this. The lyrics are critical to this band.
Gojira deserves more loooove, more reactions, please!!!

Born in Winter is my favourite from Gojira
'Flying Whales' is a must-listen from Gojira.
No, no.... All of Gojira is a must-listen. All of it. ALL OF IT!!!!!
death of me
Old gojira is heavy groovy by going back in time 🤟
Gojira is one of the best modern Metal bands ever. All of the albums of Gojira is a banger. They dont have any bad songs. You can't change my opinion.
spittin' facts my man
The worst gojira song is still a banger. Love those crazy Frenchmen
Didn't know ripping off Where the Slime Lives and dialing up the pick scrapes to 10 made you a great.

Why would I be bitter over Soyjira ripping off the worst Morbid Angel album?
art of dying is the next one in the queue, the song embodies the process of death and it is really beautiful
she gets it. the groove. she feels it beneath the heaviness
One of my favorite Gojira tracks and one of most listened to on Spotify this year. Saw them live in October with Korn and both didn't disappoint at all.

My favorite band :3 I'm always happy to see people check them out, thank you!
How many sick riffs can you have in one song? Gojira: Yes.
My favourite guitar parts in whole Gojira discography.
Haven't listened to this song in a while. Forgot how awesome it is. Thank you! ❤

If you enjoy heavy side of Gojira then Art of Dying is a must listen, their absolute masterpiece and in my opinion, probably the best metal song ever
I just realized that the first section of lyrics are syncopated like 'my name is mud' by primus. Wild.
SPACE TIME will take you to a whole new level of Gojira and metal itself. I assure you it is one of their top 3 ever crafted.
Can't go wrong with Gojira! 🤘😎🤘
If you like heavy music with "switch ups" then Gojira is definitely for you. I recomend Oroborus, my personal favorite, it has more focus on the drums, but it has the same vibe as this one. There are so many Gojira songs that are must listen.
Love by Strapping young lad!
Greatest living drummer. He makes a solo out of every transition lol
Finally Gojira more Gojira please they are amazing

For an entire album, try either From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh, or L’Enfant Sauvage. There are too many good songs to recommend just one.
thank you Man
You should see them live. Be careful, though. If you do you won't forgive yourself for not seeing them sooner.

Meh. Nile is better.
Kindly suggest "Cast Down the Herectic" or "Lashed to the Slave's Stick".
