I was just complaining about the taco stand on the sidewalk in Ventura in front of Target on Main St... I wondered who gave the a permit? You can't just setup a business on a sidewalk without a permit, this must be run by the cartels is what I'm thinking, but it makes California look like a 3rd world country and it basically steals customers from restaurants that pay rents, get permits, etc... It sucks. It must be a good way to sell drugs and launder cash money at those unpermitted taco stands. I saw one in Oxnard too... seems like an well planned orchestrated thing now that I just saw your video, they all look identical in setup, tables, with the meat on the left side, etc.
For newbies, be aware that this is a grossly oversimplified scenario. For one thing, you can't get a mortgage on an investment property without at least 25% down payment. Two, it's easy to see comps for house purchase prices, but it takes a lot of research to understand the comps on rent prices. The trick is to find a place where renting is more expensive than buying, but those places are less common because of this very type of scenario. Three, you have to remember that rent number he's using is supposed to be net income, not gross. So you have to think about costs for taxes, insurance, maintenance and vacancy when you're researching investments. All that said, real estate investing is a good tool for wealth accumulation. But it isn't foolproof.

I grew up in Burbank and worked for studios. That was a great neighborhood- that never happened until Covid. I moved out of California for good in January. Not because I wanted to but because I felt driven out of my once beautiful state. Disgusting mismanagement of that county and state. 😢
WE are in our upper 70's and WE do NOT go to Cracker Barrell nor to Olive Garden or Red Lobster and it is NOT because of the service. The employees and the foods were always very nice. Why don't we go? We are paying our homeowners insurance which has gone from $1,500 to OVER $5,000. Just spoke with our independent insurance agent and was told to expect over $6,000 next year -- as soon as we pay off the little we owe on the home, we will go "self insured."
Mine went up $500 this year. With AAA for 30 years. The cost of everything is outrageous. Almost never go out to eat. Don’t trust the food system and the cost is more than I am willing to pay. Stopped by KFC for two pieces of chicken was $10. What! Told her Nope. Drove through. Not because I don’t have the money- I refuse to pay. I’m done. Will prepare all my meals now. Better quality organic and still outrageous but I know what’s in it. Better health to all.
Went to a concert at LA Live as I have been doing for years throughout my youth. Didn't realize really how much the city has deteriorated. Felt an immense sense of danger walking the streets, riding on the train. Streets completely dirty. More people drugged up. It isn't 2018 anymore. Really sad.
My whole family back to the 1880’s settled at what was “ The Farm” that was Los Angeles and they’re all buried in Forest Lawn. Thank God my parents got us out of there in the 1960’s. I will never see my family plot. I’ll never go back. That city is a dystopian nightmare.😢

Back in 2013-2014, I did some technology consulting work with one of the largest community foundation based in Mountain View, CA . Back then, two of the side streets leading up to the office of this community foundation where companies such as Facebook and Microsoft donates hundreds of millions of dollars annually, those two small side streets used to have rows and rows and rows of RVs. I did a little digging back then and discovered these were homeless people living in RVs. I was very concerned and brought up the situation to their CMO and one SVP who spearheaded where donations go to. I figured this is the largest community foundation in America with over 1 billion dollars sitting in their bank account at that time and this is one avenue that can be put to good use. Nothing was done. Not one dime went to those homeless people that was right outside their doors but rather they paraded their foundation with lavish parties spending millions of dollars to raise more money. They said that some of the money was going for human trafficking, but even that I am unsure. I saw pamphlets about human trafficking but, there were no evidence that the money that they were collecting were going to help people. But this is one of the issues in States like California. Community foundations, nonprofit organizations, churches, etc all disguise as a non-profit supposedly to help people, aren't. It pains me but this is happening in America. I came from a communist country where homelessness is an all-time epidemic for decades. When I arrived here as a little girl, I was shocked to see that there were homelessness. But nothing to the scale that it is today. We are supposed to govern these so-called people who are supposed to represent us. When did Americans stopped governing? This is outrageous that LA is this way. Back then I remember going down to Los Angeles area during my consulting with that community foundation and going out to dinner in the beautiful California night. The streets were clean, unlike what you've shown us. The regime that's supposed to be leading the country and its people are not going to do anything for us. We are on our own. It's up to us to clean up America and that should start today. Thank you Dan
Dan, If I got kicked out of my home (evicted), but still had some income, I would go buy a Motor home and sell most of my stuff. Homes in CA are way too expensive anyhow. I would probably get a small motor home before being kicked out of my home if I knew I would eventually be evicted.
I agree. For those heavily leveraged and likely gonna loose their house pulling the heloc funds out to cash to buy the rv as a fallback plan for at least something to live in.
Motor homes have gone way up in price in the last year or so. Things are getting hairy. At least an RV is considered a legal home (domicile) which allows firearm storage and the same defense laws as being in a house without wheels. Open alcohol is also legal in a motor home when moving, as long as the driver is not drinking and unable to reach the container. We once had a keg tapped in my VW Westfalia camper bus. 👌🏻
Dan, I was very worried about you when you were walking along the street. I was worried that you would get hit by a Car. Please don’t every do that again. Yes, I think I understand why you were not on the Sidewalk. We Love you, Dan. We don’t want anything bad happening to you.
Yes, I saw that too, my point was never walk in the same direction as the traffic. It's not ideal to use the road but if you take this precaution it's safer.
I agree I found that very disturbing and maybe he was just trying to make it more extreme that he is “the man on the street doing a journalistic report right in the trenches“. If he wants to keep doing blogs he needs to practice safety, occasionally looking over his shoulder as a car or truck passes him within 5 inches of himself is hardly being cautious. If he looks back and sees that a car is about to hit him he really doesn’t have time to React accordingly. He should’ve found a safe place to just set the camera on a tripod and talk with those many RVs in the background. Then in editing he could have cutaway shots panning the RV lineup and even some shots he can do it from moving vehicle safely
I told him that very thing in anticipation of this, a few days ago, but the story must be told, so that others that don't know about what is going on and will have the knowledge to do something about it.

Funny, it is my dream to sell my house and live in an RV. I’m sick of paying the Gustapo so I can exist in my house. And mobility means I can move somewhere else whenever I’m sick of the neighbors/government. I just need to convince the wife.
@@judymckee5992and that is why I’d get a dually diesel or 2500 pickup and a tow behind type so I can in hitch go to work in the truck leave the camper at the spot. Been debating doing this as well signed up for 30 hrs your never home cause you gotta work to pay for the thing for almost half a lifetime. What taxes are in 10yrs time can likely buy a new rv with. Plus you can see the country. I can always find work in construction anywhere I go in the US. If the home owners insurance does the doubling thing everywhere this will be huge 😮
I was thinking the exact same thing! The people of California had a chance to ditch their governor, yet they voted him right back in. So yeah, they all wanted it. They all got it. Hopefully they'll keep it in their state.
Well there are a lot of brainwashed people living in California that only seem to care about their addictions to narcotics, alcohol, cell phones, and celebrities and this is their downfall. Welcome to the state of California where most people are unable to think straight to vote for anything normal. You get what you vote for and like Forrest Gump stated " Stupid is as stupid does." 😢
You are right on Dan, you would not believe the hoops we had to jump thru to get a license to sell our frozen soups at LA farmers markets. Not only hoops, but very expensive. It was 20 years ago, and we always wondered why the health dept. didn't go after the fruit cart vendors. Tbh, we were angry about it...very unfair.
Too many regulations and codes makes it a discouraging and expensive thing to do, to do street vending. I understand the need for both but it's too much of a bureaucratic maze for people to have to go through.
Food cart \ fruit vendors flower vendors . collect sales tax. Can go to homeless fund~ they need to pay city ~ county taxes inspection anytime ! Owned a florist we had to pay all these taxes~ in the flower vendors we call them bucket people would be out there selling pay no taxes. Of course the flowers were cheap however, they have to have a source so they bought from the growers ~ area And they would take the cash from them and there was no tracking of that so it was a win-win for the grower and the flower vendor.
Your street vendors are making money on public sidewalk to the taxpayers pay so they need to pay their taxes. They also have to have a source where they get their meat extra food that would be more than you would buy for a normal family so the tracking Has to start where they buy their product…
What do you mean? Local regional and national news media have been covering the homeless thing every week, this is not the first video showing a bunch of motorhomes on the street.
Nice job. Great info, as usual. I have NEVER and will NEVER eat anything from a street vendor! Not even a pretzel. I dont care how many certificates they have. Especially the old time pushcarts. They roll them into filthy rat infested garages at night and dont clean anything including themselves. As we have seen on some TV shows, even restaurants/bars are also filthy. Re LA: It reminds me of the guys holding down the big balloons. They get lifted up and they reach a point when to let go is fatal. This country is there now!! Wil Rogers said: "We have the finest politicians that money can buy".
It is now legal to sell on street corners and on streets like in the old country. Buy and eat at your own risk. The corner trade is controlled by higher ups, if you know what I mean.
I'm curious as to what part of the country the commentor is from. In Houston the street vendors are amazing. Here they are all grouped together. There are trees with colored lights and picknic tables. Every place is clean with good food. Sometimes they are off of suburban strodes, sometimes around parks.
If a Tee Pee were my home, I guess I could live in it there. Politicians don't solve problems, they create them. If you think this is bad, just wait till next year.
When I first came t LA in 2010 I bought fish tacos off a truck at a gas station . I got deathly Sick for over a month. I was coming from NYC where they have food standards. That was a lesson I’ll never forget
It's make one wonder how dysfunctional a city can become and still have it's elected officials and public safety personnel present this as normal and working as the system rots internally.
Easy answer. One of the council women sleeps out of the district. In the morning, she came to her legal residence which is an an apartment two blocks from my house, gets picked up by the paid city driver.
I had a fleet of 6 Hot lunch catering trucks and we serviced mostly large office buildings and construction sites in Culver City. Believe me the Health Department stays on top of you like flies on sticky paper! They do unexpected visits to inspect our trucks at the sites we service! They also fine you if they find something wrong, They inspect like a fine tooth comb every inch (wanting to find something!)!. All catering trucks & services have to have a Health license or you can't operate!
These aren't catering trucks these are popup tents with propane stoves, like camping... then they sometimes setup plastic tables in the dirt. It's totally 3rd world and illegal without the permits and business license... all businesses are required to have a business tax license in most cities.
The reason why the US Congress dress code has fallen by the wayside, is because when they do a "run away" when the SHTF, they will appear as just another ordinary citizen and they will be able to "blend in" and thus get away! Cause it IS coming... and everyone will be running! Thank you for your video. Take care, God bless. By the way, no one has enough compassion, enough money, or enough energy to clean up those motorhomes and vans parked in LA. They are now a permanent fixture.... until the whole coast falls in the ocean of course...
I like the pop up business they are leading the charge to do whatever you want as long as your not a legal tax paying citizen. We have to pay taxes, fees, permits, fines and go to jail for breaking any law. Sounds totally fair
I just want to point out they allow the rv's and tents but do not allow semi trucks, even if you are delivering they try to ticket truck drivers and we bring you everything the city needs.

It a good idea for T/A, Pilot, QT and even Petrol make a truck /RV stops at these locations and make a living place for these people who are out of budget to live in a rent or private properties. But there are entities who profit off the homeless.
I live in Long Beach California. I think in 2010 Lakewood changed the law on RV parking. Soon after Bellflower Downey Paramount and Long Beach. All went with the same ordinance change. No overnight parking of RVs. If you need to load or unload your RV for a trip you can get a permit. It’s only good for one day. And you’re only allowed to a year. Other city should actually copy this and enforce it.
On occasion, we have these street vendors here in Florida. They are usually Southern BBQ with the 55 gallon oil drums cut in half on a trailer. Awesome food!!
I saw a street cart selling tacos across the street from a Del Taco. The Del Taco had a couple customers, but the tiny street cart had a line going down the street. I had to try the taco so many people were there, and it totally sucked. I think I ordered the wrong package. I think people were ordering that special taco with a little something something in it. But that wasn't on the menu, because I don't know the code word.
It's all about survival at this point... I don't think I will live long enough to see a solution, but it will have to start with the next generation voting out all the lifelong Democrats and RINOs who got us in this mess. And they need to secure and re-dedicate themselves to following our Constitution and re-dedicating themselves to God Almighty! ...yep and Amen.
Forget the next generation. They are voting for this. They're rewriting History and the Constitution as we type. They don't even know if they're a Boy or a Girl, a She or Him. We call em a SHim for short. The America we knew is over forever. America is being destroyed from within.. North Korea and China will be at war with each other soon to see who gets to fly their flag her in their promis land, after all they've already bought most of it already.
@shadowbanned4days If anything, the attempted recall of GOV Newsom proves the system is rigged, and you also have illegal aliens holding public office.
Dan, this street corner set up is VERY common here in Phoenix AZ, especially near a very well kept gas station called QT. At least the example you shown, they had a tent with lights. Others here just run it out of the back of their mini van or Shanti "food truck" that looks like "hospital visit" all over it.
Dan. New research from Shelter shows at least 271,000 people are recorded as homeless in England, including 123,000 children. Shelter's detailed analysis of official homelessness figures and responses to a Freedom of Information request shows that one in 208 people in England are without a home 🏡
Dan, great video. Sad what is happening to your state. I agree that debt will destroy many families when things collapse. I paid of ALL debt, stocked supplies and food, put back bundle of cash, keep working two jobs and think/hope we are better prepared for a long downturn of this country. Unfortunately, the whole country will soon look like LA. Be safe.
Street vendors why not, watch food before/after cooking, know vendor their name sanitation, as opposed to an anonymous back-room kitchen hidden away out of sight BUT does remind me of my VN tour 1967 Saigon, stopped by a vendor ordered a pizza slice, got friggen sick near death coming out both ends all night!! Been down to Mexico, ate plenty of street tacos and here to tell about it ~~
This situation is happening all over the country. Housing is unaffordable and people are excepting the reality of cost of living is destroying them at a staggering rate. The government is happy to put people on a welfare state so your easily controlled. Dependence on the government gives them the power they want.
Unfortunately the cost of living includes the newest cell phone, a Netflix subscription and daily Starbucks coffee. Society today is living well beyond it's means and it shows. Those of us that ate government cheese and kniw how to get by on less will be fine
HI Dan, when I go to Mexico the only place I will eat is at a street vendor because I can see it being cooked and know that at least I can see the sanitary conditions. If I go to a restaurant I request a walk through the kitchen. If they say no I leave. But, I get your point.
Smh. Did you not see the meat hanging they were slicing? It was out in the open by the curb. There street debris and exhaust fumes collecting on it. Just because you saw the guy wash his hands means nothing. Sorry but NO. A restaurant is going be the safer route. Street vendors isn't the move.
I just LOVE your show. Your nailing it. They should be required to show these episodes in freshman year college to students. THANK YOU. PS please don't walk on that road again with that traffic. We need you on this wall. Yikes.
Born and lived in Ca for 40 years and we were so happy to get out. It truly is a hell hole in a lot of places. Los Angeles and San Francisco are no longer safe and nice to live in.

Our govt. at every level is effectively relinquishing it regulatory powers BUT the Govt itself will always over pay and over perk itself until taxpayers finaly cut the umbilical of cash.
Yes, I'm with you on the illegitimate food stands living here in L.A/ Inglewood. 311 has a place to file complaints on illegals but seems like they don't do anything to stop it. Sidewalks being blocked, trash blowing around the neighborhood. Go back to the location in the day the sidewalks stained with greases and bits of food. You did not mention that use the taxpayer funded EBT card that some use to buy the food that they turn around and sell for cash profit not being reported. I believe that they set up late after the city is closed so no inspector will be coming to inspect the operation.
The answer to these pop-up street venders is: Do away with regulations at the restaurants and let the free market decide to go in or not. That way they can reduce their prices and eventually the free market will these street venders by making store bought quality that much better and lower price.
Hey Dan, when talking about Los Angeles, make sure you distinguish between the COUNTY of Los Angeles and the CITY or Los Angeles. The CITY is the jurisdiction allowing the homeless motorhomes AFAIK. Pretentious HR policies, don't forget being written up for something that happened two years ago that you were never informed about at that time, and could have been handled with a simple informal meeting at the time it occurred (aka poor staff supervision and poor management communication). Taco vendors on the street corners - its rampant on the weekends in the Orange County cities of Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley (Mile Square Park), too. Lots of low-income areas in other Orange County cities, too.
I ate a taco in Tijuana when I was 18- big mistake- got dissentary. Hospitalized for 3 days. My doctor said they wipe their shenehole and then make your taco.
Yes, Dan, I do like your coverage of the truth, such as what LA is really like. The homeless problem seems to be expanding like a flood, and I was surprise to read or hear somewhere the California apparently has 1/3 of all the country's homeless. Wow.
We used to do the California trip a couple times a year during school breaks to visit Disneyland etc… or other places around CA, but we haven’t done it since 2016 or so. A lot of great memories, but we just have no desire to head west at all anymore. In fact, we don’t travel to any of these big cities at all. Too expensive, too unsafe, and just down right filthy in many of these places that were once must see locations. I guess we get what we vote for, but at this point I’m not sure what the solution is. Remove the businesses and the tourism, and what do you have? Rock bottom collapse may be the only thing that wakes people up.
I see these same problems in Kalamazoo, MI! I’m a food delivery driver so I see a lot. Panhandlers leave their trash everywhere. Homeless people sleep on sidewalks. People set up barbecues in parking lots & sell food from parked cars. One guy even set up a hair cutting station on West Main, a busy thoroughfare! Raw meat & poultry need to be kept at a certain temperature to avoid food-borne illnesses. And hairstyling combs & scissors should be sterilized between customers. It’s ridiculous
Ok, Dan! Great job showing us the demise of LA. So how about no more walking tours of dangerous streets and just keep to the ducks and geese and beautiful scenery of ocean waves. We need you alive and healthy! Your daily updates are eye opening! Thanks and blessings to you and your family!
I think the homelessness will get worse. The insane people are the ones eating at that pop-up corner food stand. Why can't fetterman wear a suit? Onward and upward, Dan.
Notice how the roasting meat is put out there because it's the biggest attraction but putting it out there allows it to get covered in dirt and debris and exhaust fumes flies and other insects
The last time we have been to either restaurant was 2years ago. The food and service was crab at both. I can’t see paying high dollar for crab food & crab services
Yes, without sanitation and hygiene, you get rats and rodents. And these vermin spread diseases. Sadly, it may take the threat of disease to get a policy change that deals with this homeless/motor home situation.
If you have ever rented anywhere in Los Angeles, you would most likely have had a home invasion of rats. I lived in Brentwood, Hollywood Hills and Echo Park. All three were rat infested!
RVs belong in an RV park. LA county should build a park for them, some 'prime' real estate next to say the municipal dump. Provide a few watering stations and some porta-potties. Tow them over and wish 'em a happy life.
They should be arrested but they won't They're just letting us know They are the World elite And we are the peasants Although some of us known this for a long time

Get in line, Friend, because You Ain't Wrong... !
I agree. For those heavily leveraged and likely gonna loose their house pulling the heloc funds out to cash to buy the rv as a fallback plan for at least something to live in.
I am in Australia. Saving for a motorhome if I lose my rental property. We are in our 60,s. You cannot get a place to rent

Dan, don't walk out there like that again. You could get killed.

Too many regulations and codes makes it a discouraging and expensive thing to do, to do street vending. I understand the need for both but it's too much of a bureaucratic maze for people to have to go through.
the answer isnt to open this type of place...

Love the segment on the LA street motorhomes/vans where you put youself in the bottom corner and show us the video of the streets. Great format.
Greed is good remember?
Enjoy the results of greedy banks, property and real estate developers.
I ate a taco in Tijuana when I was 18- big mistake- got dissentary. Hospitalized for 3 days. My doctor said they wipe their shenehole and then make your taco.
The advantage to van life is you only need to cut like two or three lawns a day and get to party rest of the day man.
Cracker Barrel looks packed to me anytime I pass one. They are still making good food with good service.
Van coverage was eye opening! Never knew any of that was happening! 🌴
So many owner-operator Cottrel car hauler trailers parked tells you the used car and auto markets went under. I myself am a ex-parking lot car hauler.
Thanks Dan I am going to get in my broke down RV and come out to visit LA soon. Going to find some beach front property.
Why don't you show skid row? German in Venice did a great video on it.
Unbelievable! I used to live in that area. So glad I left six years ago, and so sad to see this happening.
I can’t see paying high dollar for crab food & crab services
this is what happens when landlords charge sooooo much rent. people have to live somewhere. if not in a reasonably priced apartment it's the streets.
Thanks Mr. Dan! Be safe.
Yes, without sanitation and hygiene, you get rats and rodents. And these vermin spread diseases. Sadly, it may take the threat of disease to get a policy change that deals with this homeless/motor home situation.
Addicts are covered w disease
And, they'll just shoo 'em along then. "Can't stay here", they'll say.
Illegal invasions is bringing tuberculosis back
If you have ever rented anywhere in Los Angeles, you would most likely have had a home invasion of rats. I lived in Brentwood, Hollywood Hills and Echo Park. All three were rat infested!
vermin=politicians $$
NO to pop up vendors, my family and i got food poisoning from one. NO MORE. They know what they are doing, pigs. 😊
RVs belong in an RV park. LA county should build a park for them, some 'prime' real estate next to say the municipal dump. Provide a few watering stations and some porta-potties. Tow them over and wish 'em a happy life.
Politicians that support of promote what is happening with homelessness in California or Illinois or New York should be arrested!
They should be arrested but they won't
They're just letting us know
They are the World elite
And we are the peasants
Although some of us known this for a long time
Did you see the video of the immigrant woman in NYC cooking rotisserie rats? No joke, I saw it yesterday.
Thanks for the quick video Dan! 👍
Same issue with pop up food vendors in Tampa Florida
19:16 it’s probably healthier than anything refrigerated. The tacos are probably fire, you should try’em next time.
Democratic paradise, enjoy what you voted for.
Everyone thinks its a democratic city but its just Santa Monica .
All have movie scripts to get rich!
This is in red states to it's just not blue states it's every state
Also, the poor people living on the boats!
Both parties have issues. But dems have the most.
