  • On this week's episode will be showing how to install an eibach front sway bar on the 2018+ Honda Accord. Also will be showing how to drop the front subframe and steering rack. Debated about splitting this into 2 parts but ultimately decided it's better to have all the content in one video versus splitting.

    Question, im in need of changing my sway bar bushings mainly drivers side. Do i need to drip the subframe for this?

    Doing the front bar on top of the rear makes the world of difference. Most people don't want to do it because of how much work it is but it's worth it so much.

    How long did it take you to do the job from start to finish. I just had this job done a few days ago and I think they overcharged me on the labor. I took the car to professional shop and they charged me for seven hours labor. I am looking at this video because I honestly feel that I was ripped off. Did it take you seven hours to complete the job. Even if it did they have power tools you don't. You can tell this is not siting well with me.

    Hey boss, so I have the eibach sportline springs and added the rear eibach sway bar. I LOVE THE HANDLING, more responsive. So, when you added the front sway bar did that negate the benefits of the rear sway or did it improve even more? Any pros and cons to adding the front sway bar?

    I like how non-rushed your videos feel. I don't mind some flare that some car mod videos have, but your videos are closer to actual install feel. Things are clear and informative. Thank you!

    Just a tremendous effort between work, filming and production. On top of that, your presentation was highly professional which led me to watch the whole video 👍. One question, is it possible to install the sway bar by just removing the lower control arms? I could see some room to have it done if I wasn't mistaken. Keep the brilliant work up mate!

      Thanks for the feedback, managed to entertain the kids as usual while doing all of this on top of working and filming. You wouldn't be able to access the sway bar brackets because they are tightly sandwiched under the steering rack. Even if you could access those bolts don't see how you could fish the bar out. Unfortunately have to lower the subframe. You technically don't have to pull it completely out but if you have the subframe free you might as well to make swapping the bar a piece of cake with no additional space limitations.

    do you have to drop all this just to replace bushings as well or can you access it without doing all this?

    • @JustaHondaAccord

      No way to access them without dropping the subframe to my knowledge

    @43:57 I know when I replaced my cv axle on my 2012 civic I used a prybar there was slot where you insert the bar and separated the three bolts very easily

    • @JustaHondaAccord
      @JustaHondaAccord  3 роки тому

      I tried but no dice with the pry bar, probably situational if it will work based on the angle of the dangle you have suspension in.

    I’ve been waiting for this video for a long time, good job, I watched from start to finish. One thing I would’ve done is installing sway bar universal locks front and rear just to prevent any lateral move.

    • @JustaHondaAccord
      @JustaHondaAccord  3 роки тому +1

      Given on the eibach front sway bar there is a rib next to the sway bar bushing I don't believe there is anyway there could be lateral movement. On the rear bar I don't recall there being ribs and couldn't hurt to add some locks to limit the bar moving side to side.

    Hey Nick, I just got my Eibach front and rear sway bar kit. I also bought CTR front end links and Whiteline rear end links because they looked way beefer than stock. Do you feel that was the right thing to do, or waste of a couple hundred bucks?

    Hey I was wondering if you know if the sway bar on our cars can rotate up and down with the endlinks off, mine takes considerable force and springs back to a position and makes a popping noise while driving and I don’t know if I should replace the whole bar because it appears you can’t find bushings for them

    My jack stands are rated for 6 tons. I think the smaller ones are strong enough but I like the big footprint - when my big bottom friend leans against the car, no chance for tipping. Anyway, I just bought a 2021 2 liter Accord so your video interests me because it gives me a first view of its nether parts. I do my own maintenance and repair.

    Being lowered. When the front wheels are turned, It looks like the sway bar is close to the axle or sitting right on top of it. Is that normal? Looks like it be hitting on mine.

    @4:01 The last install that you failed in your life working on cars was actually installing a front sway bar on your 10th gen honda accord about 8 years ago...how was that possible when the 10th gen honda accord came out in 2017 and your video was created in 2020 and if you were to subtract 8 years from that we'll be in 2012 meaning you had the 10th gen honda accord 5 years before it was actually produced.

    Great video. I’m planning to get the Eibach Sport-Plus kit which comes with the springs and front and rear swaybars. I plan on just installing the springs and then rear swaybars to see how the car will feel. One of my biggest faults with this car is the under steer and with getting a stiffer rear sway bar hopefully the car will rotate more and eliminate some of that understeer. Did the car feel too unsettled and over steers too much if it’s only the rear swaybars? If it ends up being too much oversteer that’s when i’ll instal the front sway bar and mess with the stiffness settings.

    • @JustaHondaAccord
      @JustaHondaAccord  3 роки тому +2

      I was pretty happy with the car prior to the front sway bar despite the oversteer. The car handled better than stock but left you wanting more. The front sway bar feels like it gave that missing balance.
