    Thank you so much for the demo! I bought one online before I viewed your tutorial and I like your idea better. I actually feel the bungee cord is too short for me with the one I bought. I would be willing to create what you did but with a chord twice as long and maybe a ten pound weight as I feel I can hit the ball harder and have more reaction time mimicing a true really with an opposing high level player. Thank you so much! Greatly appreciated! Please keep the videos coming! Very helpful!

    Thank you for the tutorial, here are just a few things I noticed when building it.
    My cable tie broke and the ball went to the moon :D I think it was too small and therefore too weak, so keep in mind to use a rather big one as shown! It worked best for me to make two holes that are very close to each other and also very close to the surface of the ball, so I was able to put the cord through the ball directly and didn't need a cable tie. The pressure of the ball was lost but it did not affect the bounce of it too much.

I was able to reattach it until the ball went flying off into a filled dumpster. So now I will do your tie wrap trick on a new tennis ball.

    EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!! I already have two Tourna Fill-and-Drill trainers; substituting a bungee cord is a GREAT idea (which I'm definitely going to do, so thanks)...these trainers are good for beginners, but you need to hit perfectly to maintain your stroke since these devices can train you to hit "high". But, if you can't get on-court, get to a wall, or afford a rebounder and you actually want to hit a ball, this will do in a pinch--and honestly, this Make it or Break It device is MUCH better than the ones you can purchase from Amazon. Though some are priced at below 10 bucks. Great Video. Loved it.

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  3 роки тому

      Rishi, punching the hole may and it may not. Depending on how old the ball is I've been doing a study of this question since it is asked frequently. For most, myself included it doesn't seem like a big deal for some it seems to be an issue. Let me know how the dental floss works, it seems like it might be a challenge to get it tight enough.

    Fishing line works too. Average ball impact endured is around 126 newtons, approximate 28 pound force. So any line for over 30 pound is strong enough. You might also try a larger PVC end cap that fits the weight you have. You might not need a dowel you could use a square piece of wood. Hope this helps, if you have more questions, please type back. Could you state what size is the bungee/shock cord you used? Would it be 1/16" or 1/8" diameter and what brand? The are many choices and different construction. The link that is listed, took me to a site that had 3/16", which I bought thinking this was recommended (my bad for not reading all the comments). Well, it's too heavy, the ball does not come back. So I need to buy a different cord. So, I will wait for your reply on size and brand. Also for a rubber bottom, I flipped carpet around and glued the fiber side to my base plate. Leaving the rubber side exposed and the base didn't skid.

    Do you think the 1/8 cord is too heavy and not elastic enough, would you think 1/16 cord is too skinny and break? I noticed when you hit the ball, the rebound was really quick and you didn't have enough time to hit the next shot.

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  5 років тому +5

      Ryan, 1/16 shock cord may work, might be worth giving it a try, it may eventually break but then you could replace it. The thing to consider is the force of the ball when it breaks, don't be near windows or small children. The commercial versions use almost rubber bands and feedback I've seen on store sites is they don't last long. The bounce back on the 1/16 cord would likely be slower, good point.
